Gotta second the JLC PCB spot - I used them to order the PCB for my custom keyboard which I designed back in 2020. It's now had 4 years of hammering as my daily driver and has held up perfectly! I've ordered a bunch of other projects for them too and never had a problem!

That’s awesome to hear, I asked a few people about their experience with JLC before agreeing to a sponsorship. And everyone was positive about it.

@@Mellow_labs Well just to pile on. I've used them a few times now as well over the last couple of years and it's always been a good experience.

@@Mellow_labsGonna add to this - I've just started using their PCBassembly service, and they have been so helpful ❤
Everytime I had a problem, they'd answer my emails very quickly, any issues with my files, they're straight in my inbox, asking questions, getting it done right.
PCBA is not exactly cheap but the parts are priced at bulk rates, great when you're dealing with tiny neopixels ❤❤❤

I never had custom PCB boards made but I am in need of some. Do you have to design them yourselves? Or can you just tell them what parts you need on them and they'll figure it out for you?

@@remconetYou will have to design it yourself.

Well this is an interesting idea which I don't think I was expecting to be made available for this low price and format. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Of course this will soon be tested within a home assistant automation I'm pretty sure.

I bet that little speaker dohicky would be great for adding audio support to 3d printed robot projects like your mini astromech!

Cool video, thanks for the tip of this device. It might become useful :) In the PDF DFRobot mention RS485 support briefly. Do you happen to know how to use RS485 with this device?

Impedance is similar to resistance, you need to match the impedance on an amp and speakers

    1. I would like to have it split in two parts.
first the DIP chip replacing old melodie chips used on 1970,1980 clocks.
second the speaker with amplifier if needed at all, supporting existing piezo speakers as well.
    2. WTH, how can anyone sell a product that has no indexed connectors.
It takes just a single pin to prevent plugging in the wrong way.
    WHO made this? Chinese, obviously.

@mrbulp as far as I can tell from the documentation the uart connection to microcontroller does not allow it to upload new audio
