Have you done any work on the current iron block engines 2TR-fe & 3RZ. I know the 2TR-fe is derived from the 3RZ, but there seems to be nothing, that I'm aware of, in the way of valvetrain/camshafts for a NA build for the 2TR-fe. I had a 1971 Corolla with the 2TC hemi and I loved that engine. Thanks for sharing information on the other engines from Toyota, they are stout.
Interested turboing and stroking my beams blacktop in my altezza to 2.3L Would you recommend sticking with my stock engine block or using a 5sge block and is there really any differences between the 2 blocks. Also what would be the max overbore you’d go on stock block if I am to use that one
@@psiracing Just the standard C-clips that come with the piston. I find the aftermarket ones to look very wimpy compared to the OEM, but since pistons, wristpins and clips come as a set, I am nervous about using OEM clips on an aftermarket piston and wristpin.
How were they positioned/oriented? Set with the open end on top/bottom or to the side? To the side means inertia tries to close/loosen it every stroke, constantly flexing it smaller.

There are definitely products out there for the 3rz, 2tr never heard of

I have had a few rod bearing clips break loose in my past and wreck the cylinder. What is the secret? Do you use any kind of locktite on it?
I'm not sure what you mean by rod bearing clips? Do you mean wrist pin clips?
@@psiracing The wristpin retainers. They always seem to slip out and the wristpin fly's away.

Honestly we dont many builds of the later generation blocks. We pretty much always use the 5s blocks
