Have to say what a gentleman John Fricke is. When I first started going to OZ conventions, he was one of several class OZ gentlemen who would actually approach a complete stranger (obviously a new person in the group) and introduce themselves and ask you who you are. I had very real and friendly and informative conversations with very knowledgable OZ fans. Went to several conventions he was appearing at. And literally every time I saw John it was not just a hello. It was a lovely conversation he had with a relative nobody. He only knew I was an OZ fan. That's all it took.
That was really something. Enjoyed from beginning to the end hearing you all talk about such a treasure of a movie. Listened to John in a commentary on the movies features and host of other oz stuff and enjoyed him, also to me he has a resemblance of Mickey Rooney from the 1930s. Thanks for these enjoyable podcasts!!!

Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz is irrevocably on of the Greatest performances in film history....she got a special juvenile Academy Award, but she should have been nominated beside Vivien Leigh and Hattie McDaniel.... She really was a great artist.... Full of heart and soul.... You can see that in her other great film performances and her records... Would have loved to seen her perform on stage!!!! God bless this beloved star..... And wizard of Oz is still on the greatest films of all times!!!! Thank you from all of us here who are Garland and Oz fans in Columbus Ohio!!!!!(by the way, Judy Garland was once elected the sweetheart of sigma chi at Ohio State University early in her career)
Hey William! I’m in Ohio as well. I have a photo of Judy in Cleveland at a baseball game. She was good luck for us because they won that game, it was against Detroit 😊

A triomphant production, a masterpiece for the ages. @@TheGarlandGab Its not your accent but a VERY BAD microphone. That should be easily fixed by using a LAVALIER microphone (not expensive from Amazon). Good luck.
Thank you but I have much better equipment now (this podcast is a year and a half old) the accent is still pretty dodgy even with the clearer sound!lol
Nice but you have some SERIOUS AUDIO issues, especially with Sarah & Paul. It’s probably due to one or more horribly bad microphones. John Fricke’s audio is ok. 👉HIGHLY RECOMMEND “Lavalier” MICROPHONES for crystal clear sound 👈 UNFORTUNATE because it’s probably a great discussion.
Thank you but this was filmed March 2022 on my old Google Chromebook before I invested in a decent laptop and podcast microphone. It's much better on more recent podcasts. (Sarah)
As a huge Garland and Oz fan, a few personal comments. First, I thought the opening montage was simply one of the best I've ever seen, both touching, dramatic, and full of promise for what I had hoped would be a spirited and engaging discussion. It was incredible, a work of art in itself. But when the actual discussion began, the energy level immediately disappeared like a bowling ball falling off a cliff. This entire piece belonged to John Fricke, with all of the other panelists simply taking up space. But worst of all was the energy level of the actual host, Sarah Westhead, whose droll monotone was just slightly above the energy level of a walking corpse. I've never seen such a boring, uninvolved speaker, whose heavy accent made her presence even more difficult to understand. I should have quit after the fabulous intro.
Thanks for the first half of your comment @tiffsaver. I'm glad you liked the opening which was edited by Carly, she really is a "whizz of a wiz" when it comes to that. With regards to the second half, what a mean spirited, nasty and unconstructive response to something that everyone involved in put a lot of time and effort into. We usually wouldn't respond to such comments but I will not stay silent when my friend is referred to as a "walking corpse". By all means if you don't like us, you don't have to watch. You say you should have quit after the intro, perhaps it would have been better if you had. (Conor).
@@TheGarlandGab This was only my opinion dear, only my opinion. But it you can't up your game, you are subjecting yourself to more a more demanding view of your interviewing skills, which are seriously in need of repair. Your job, as I see it, is to set the overall energy level of your entire podcast, not to appear like you're reciting a boring history lesson or reading an obit at a friend's funeral. But at least you had the integrity to reply to me, which is definitely a big Thumbs Up in your favor. So if my intentionally harsh remarks have a positive effect on you hopefully improving your gloomy online presence, I consider my entire post a resounding success.
