Soyeon was (and is to this date) been given the freedom to do whatever she wants. That's why she wrote and produced Jelly and Idle song all by herself. These songs are simply her style and kind of showcase her personality. Jelly has to do with her childhood (I think it had to do with a tv show or something, I don't quite remember. You can check the behind the scenes to the song on cubes channel) while Idle Song was just a teaser for the debut of (G)I-DLE. Both songs actually had Soojin in the MV as well (she wore a fox mask which she threw away in the Latata MV) Also a little fun fact: Riot Games reached out to (G)I-DLE for K/DA even before they debuted. Either they had some kind of vision or it was just random that they actually got their hands on one of the best rookie groups of the year.

The pronunciations of Yuqi are..... varied. Her Korean name is Song Woogi, but her Chinese (birth) name is Song Yuqi. And in Mandarin, the 'Q" is somewhere between "ch-" and the "tz-" like in Tzuyu. But I'm pretty sure I've heard them say "Yuki" is ok too. I say.... all 3, but mostly the Mandarin name. And yes, Soyeon can sing like that. Yes, my queen is that talented. I would call you an intellectual for liking Don't Text Me the most, but tbh I would have said that about every song on this album. What a great debut. Surprisingly, it isn't Cube screwing her over. Shuhua herself voluntarily asked for less lines. She isn't as confident in her Korean pronunciation. She has posted this somewhere and talked about it on Weibo. Just give Shuhua time and support! Once she has Soyeon's level of confidence, nothing will stop her :D

When you check out this next album it would help it have a guide to their vocals it helped me differentiate the members Soyeon - (obviously rapping) both high and deep and nasally vocal and most textured voice Yuqi - deep and honey like vocal Soojin - airy and velvety vocal usually high tone but can also go deeper Miyeon - very full, rounded, moderate tone and power vocal (also does most of the power high notes) Minnie - unique dreamy and most stylistic vocal (occasional accent as she is Thai) Shuhua- breathy and high tone vocal (if you listen to her speaking voice you’ll be able to pick out her voice more)

@@illonod1426 You don't know what I mean about surpassing Senorita and the risk of self composing songs. I know that they all worked hard for it. It will be risky because they have to come up with another concept by themselves. Compose and produce by themselves. It will be a lot challenging for them to think about how will they manage to atleast make it on another level. Like what you said Senorita didn't won because of the competition with N.Flying, Itzy, TXT and Mamamoo. Yes all title tracks are different from each other but listeners and fans have different prefferences.
When you react to "Blow Your Mind" you should also see Minnie's cover of Gravity. Those two videos together changed my mind about her completly. Before I was also more the Rappart liking type, but she can be such a beautiful artist.

I heard Jelly when it first came out. I didn't like it initially because it sounded like that "bubblegum kpop" side, which is not really my taste. When Latata came out, I didn't even put together that Soyeon was the same person who came out with Jelly. I was very impressed and I immediately knew that (G)I-DLE's music is something that I will definitely look forward too. Don't get me wrong, Jelly has definitely grown on me! I just absolutely love Soyeon's work on Latata, Hann, and Señorita more.
In Jelly Soyeon wanted to show her cutest/sweetest side because people said the she looked very scary in Unpretty Rapstar, and that isn't a good image for an idol

for $$$ i havent read the lyrics so this is entirely based on the "if you want me, bring it to me i want dollars" line, but the chorus makes me think of them going from spitting straight facts about how cool they are or smth (in the verses) to kind of mocking whoever theyre talking to, like smiling patronizingly and being sickenly sweet and fake saying if you want me then give me money sweetie :)))
I love Idle but it is obvious why Soyeon is the leader, she is a rare special kind of artist

In Hann she has more lines but she was criticize by Koreans for not having a great pronunciation.

Soyeon and Shuhua’ s voice can be both high and low. Yuqi’s voice is deeper.
I Am has a different flavor if we compare it to I Made. Self composing is a bit risky for the group specially Senorita didn't surpass Latata and Hann.
