pd is right, one of the reason stray kids will last the longest in kpop scene. They just creating interesting everytime since theyre the one whos creating their music.
7:35 this is what is so cool about stray kids. they're so rooted in their musical identity that it doesn't get lost to whichever sound they decide to experiment on. they understand their sound so well that it literally translates in every genre they take on.
you get it!!!! what i admire most about their work is when they go for something new they really achieve it. the entire album felt like that to me, hyunjin’s solo is something i’ve genuinely never heard before in any way shape or form and it absolutely delights me
Me too! That interesting change up 2/3 of the way through the song really makes my ears happy. Did you get to the video on him talking about making it? I'd watch a deep dive just going through all the different versions he created. Hyunjin's happy songs are some of my favorite Stray Kids stuff.
i got here so freaking fast it will never cease to amaze me how stray kids can experiment every single time and yet still be so Them, the skz sound is so ingrained, they truly are their own genre
I admire Stray Kids so much because of their passion and dedication to their art, they are truly one of a kind. Always looking for new ways to grow as musicians and I can’t wait for more!
I am SO excited for you to listen to the album. I was losing my MIND. Also, I think other people already told you, but all 8 solo songs are getting their own music video.

Wow love this reaction. I still have no words...this felt so stray kids and nostalgic yet so new... can't put it into words. You did that much better than I ever could
6:08 yes exactly! I explained this to someone because obviously hip hop isnt new but to this level it is new considering kpop. Ovbiously tgeres korean hip hop and rappers whos whole deal is only that but considering kpop GROUPS Stray Kids is bringing something new. I think what also adds to it being new is the fact that its old school hiphop not the modern day stuff.
Its so fresh and so nostalgic too. The familiar drum patterns of their big dance break IMMEDIATELY brought me back to the opening dance competition/dance fight scenes from Beast's Beautiful music video. Back in 2010... I also LOVE the thought that goes into all SKZ MVs too. It's never just face value and I'm so grateful to you for being able to give me more understanding of Korean lyrics and cultural clues.

You should give a listen to "Muddy Water" by the rapper line (Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix) from the Oddinary album. There are so many different modes of travel in the video: cars, dirt bikes, horses, a boat, and jet skis. Then there are so many water references, even the billiards table aka pool table.
I listened to the entire album first and enjoyed the Hip version of Walkin' on Water more, so my first reaction to the MV was disappointment that I wouldn't get to see the choreo with that version of the song. Then I saw the mv and the choreo was so great that I didn't see the setting beyond "looks cool". I kinda feel like an idiot for NOT remembering that Stray Kids songs always have layers. I am so happy I saw this reaction video! Everything about this album got so much more interesting. As someone interested in kpop and g-funk I really hope this album is a roaring success so Stray Kids keeps getting the experiment with the genre and maybe other artists will try it too.

I like Stray Kids bc their music always feels new but with her essence. I was a big fan of Super Junior & Shinee, when I was younger, but after them I got a bit bored with K-Pop I stil heard some songs here and there but without getting really invest, even with BTS or Black Pink I just like 2 o 3 of their songs bc most of the songs are quite... the same formula with kinda a mass produced feeling, but with SKZ I just love their full albums and always get the feeling of novelty mix with familiriaty with them.
to them it's new but to the world it's old, to be honest I don't have any impression of hiphop music from KPOP groups, maybe because I listen to too much world hiphop, hiphop from KPOP groups is like they can't control FLOW and DELIVERY tightly, what's left in my mind so far is just their good background music, the rest doesn't impress anyone. the layout is messy, when will KPOP be able to release real hiphop songs, it's not good enough to be called WOW, maybe for KPOP fans this is a success but for me this is a pretty boring song
Okay so I grew up listening to hip hop and the beats in this song is literally 90's hip hop to me. Of course it's not gonna be as good as american hip hop because this still is kinda k-pop because the video is in a Korean palace. However, from Choreo (they were literally C-walking!) to sound, it's definitely 90's hip hop
@the.stray.kid.l0l i don't know how to say it but their sound is not american at all, their pronunciation is still very KPOP, i really like the way they produce their background music, it's catchy but the way the members of this group FLOW doesn't sound good, it's like they don't implement FLOW coherently, yes there are metaphors in there but the connection between the rap bars doesn't work, what's important is how the members FLOW rap, if they want the world to recognize them more then they should change their FLOW, they need to practice pronouncing English words, it sounds very constrained, i don't care about their choreography, i care about the quality of the music, the depth of the lyrics and most importantly FLOW and DELIVERY. DANCE is just a small part and it only shows in form, you can't bring dance here to prove what you say about their coolness, if people compliment you for having good FLOW, you just need to stand still and rap, people will feel the weight, you don't need to dance much, and if we talk about the group with the strongest rappers as a group, XG is a girl group that is doing very well, they exploit a lot of rap bars in a verse, FLOW is very American hip hop, DELIVERY is unquestionable, their lyrics are very damaging and very deep, or you can listen to the boy group ONE OR EIGHT, they just released KAWASAKI, I don't rate the FLOW of the members of this new group highly but their pronunciation is very good, FLOW is also okay and can be exploited from the members of this group. And if we talk about true hip hop music, BIGBANG is one of them. BIGBANG, BTS, 2NE1, BP are good music groups, I don't hate KPOP, you just have to develop FLOW coherently and make difficult listeners happy
@@nguyennhatphongk17hcm4 Hate to break it to you but two of the members are actually Aussie and only two other members don't know how to speak fluent English (They're 8 in total). And if you're looking for deep meanings in lyrics then K-pop is not for you. Even tho Stray kids are not particularly K-pop in a way as in they don't sound like generic K-pop music. However I do get your point. The problem here is not their English nor their flow, because idk if you listened to any of their other songs but they have shown that they in fact have great flow and rap (they are one of the strongest rappers in the industry). The problem here is when people who usually only listen to American music suddenly listen to music from different parts of the world and think they would all sound the same. Like here for example, they have shown that they can in fact make hip hop music but in their own way, as in using their own language and their own metaphors. I said Stray kids are technically not K-pop however the only thing they do that is kind of "Kpop-y" is that one single song can have vocal parts, rap parts, Adlibs, bridges, etc.. Which is why it's different then mainstream pop music from America or Canada in a way. Hence why people who are used to American mainstream pop or hip hop find "K-pop" a genre that has no "Flow" because they're usually just not used to it. Songs that I would like you to listen to by Stray kids are 3Racha, We Go, Why?, and Slash as these songs truly show their FLOW that you're looking for. (And I do agree as a fan of Stray kids that this may not be one of their best songs). While you talk about XG, well they're a global group not K-pop (as they said themselves)(and I love them very much personally as they are my favorite ). Which means that when they make rap songs, it's just rap, maybe -some- vocal parts here and there. And when they make more vocal songs, it's just vocally heavy with usually just one rap part in it. However, I do think you are GREAT at criticizing without making it sound like hate and I'm really having fun in this discussion. Hope this helped :)
@the.stray.kid.l0l what the hell are you talking about? do you really understand what i'm saying to you? if you say this is not normal KPOP music then what kind of music is this? I have analyzed it for you so why are you trying to argue with me, because you guys make music without investing in the depth of the lyrics and FLOW, how can you conquer everyone in the world, now they criticize you and you think we are not suitable to listen to KPOP, we listen to a lot of world hiphop, not just American, they still have FLOW with many rap bars in a verse, and even in America, American hiphop rap is too developed, I don't need to know which country your idols are from, I'm talking about the quality of music, about FLOW rap and DELIVERY, it's not enough to make me excited because their bars are too short and there's nothing much to show, they don't exploit too much in those rap bars, instead there are repetitive sentences that sound quite boring. And if you say they are the strongest rappers in the industry, I will really laugh at you, even songs like this you guys arrange the layout haphazardly, I don't see FLOW anywhere, I only see the guy in red shirt in verse 2 has a clear FLOW, the rest I don't know what they are singing or rapping. The problem here is not that they are unfamiliar but they can't give clear FLOW, do you know what FLOW is, are you going off topic and deliberately not understanding? your music is of course different from other countries and each country has a different hiphop sound plus the mix of their country's culture in it, I'm referring to the main problem is FLOW, their FLOW is not clear and instead there are repetitions in their own bar rap, they can dig deeper instead of wasting it with repeated bar raps from there, and about XG, did I say anything about XG being KPOP, I never said they were KPOP, I said XG here is at least you have to define FLOW so that it is stable in both verses, you have to balance that, and the DeLIVERY of this song is so bad, it's almost non-existent in any member's bar rap. Saying that I hate KPOP is wrong, I told you BIGBANG, BTS, 2NE1, BP are groups that actually make good music and have depth, unlike the current KPOP, whose music is so lame that it's not worth anything, I wonder if the more the world develops, the worse KPOP music gets? I gave you a suggestion about a boy group called ONE OR EIGHT, although they are just rookies but their way of making music has investment in lyrics, FLOW, clear pronunciation, full English rap, I say this because the more the era develops, everything needs to develop accordingly, don't stand still, to me the music is too boring and has no difference at all, I laugh because you say they are the strongest rappers, I'm sorry but I laugh at what you're saying, and you also give information that I haven't mentioned yet such as XG is KPOP, XG knows they have a difference and their rappers are the strongest rappers as a group, I don't care what kind of KPOP market you are, I'm talking about rappers in a group and XG are the members with the strongest rap skills and FLOW right now. If you want to be recognized more, you should learn to pronounce English again as well as how to implement FLOW firmly in rap bars, I'm talking about FLOW and don't try to drag other things into this. American hiphop rap is a rap genre with global coverage and that's why almost every artist around the world wants to become real rappers in the American style, but the hiphop style your group is putting out is still not exciting enough or convincing enough for others, I can even sit here and argue with you about the details of their sentences and FLOW to know what they are lacking
Gosh he needs to listen to “ bounce back”
