    I'm in the process in making your plasma table now and so far I've spent close to $300.00 in materials from Metal Depot. It's well worth it, since I'm passing the time during the Covid-19 pandemic in my workshop.

    I would imagine like many people these days, I spend too much time watching youtube videos. But I have to commend you, when I watch yours I get a sense of being young, wanting to accomplish something, and I am not that young anymore. Thank you for the inspiration, wonderful craftsmanship.

    I hate to be that guy who asks but.... music? In a period where a lot of youtubers are all using a handful of generic tunes, you have stepped it up a notch.

    This man is a genius fabricator! The woodblock jig is so well thought out a real time saver. Then he used the table that was half built to plasma cut the sheet stock. I'm going to build this next. Thank you for all your time and effort to make this video.

  • @SeriousSchitt

    Thanks for the ideas. I'd never in a million years have thought of offsetting the hole in the chute to allow for the placement of the bucket 'and' cutter, That's just superb!

    That turned out great, Zack. Super useful to have in a metalworking shop, never even heard of a plasma table before you talked about it on the podcast.

    You know it's a good build when you use it while building it. Very cool! I like the "parking brake" for the truck too.

    • @ZHFabrications
      @ZHFabrications  7 лет назад

      Absolutely. The truck sits fine, it just doesn't have an E-brake, so I chalk the wheel just in case :)

    • @markfryer9880
      @markfryer9880 7 лет назад

      Er, I think you mean "chock" the wheel, as parking inspectors are the ones who chalk your wheels and we don't want that happening as the tickets for their gigs are kind of expensive.
      Now that might be a useful name for a band, "The Parking Inspectors". Copyright to me as of NOW. hehehe

    • @markfryer9880
      @markfryer9880 7 лет назад

      What you refer to as the E brake, us Aussies refer to as the Parking Brake. Go figure!

  • @ColbyR86

    Saaawweeeet. I'd probably just disassemble the welding table and throw the plate on top of this whenever I'd want to weld. A nice double duty space saver in a small shop like yours. Great work, Zack!

      Thanks Colby, It has totally become my new grinding station!

    Neat trick for cutting the slots in the square tubing!

  • @Scruffywelder
    @Scruffywelder 6 лет назад +1

    Great video!
    I think if I do one I'll make the bottom shelf out of mesh so any dust falls straight through and doesn't build up on it. I'd probably also extend the tail of the funnel further into the bucket and maybe add a lid of some sort to help protect the plasma cutter a bit more.

      Seth Galitzer We used to do that for our lasers at work. I don't think we were using the same steel that Amada used for their laser slats. We were using stadard hot rolled steel (not sure on the gauge.) The company was wanting to go cheap, but the laser operators and supervisors realized very early on that the in-house slats weren't lasting as long.

      Go check out Jody Collier at "Welding Tips and Tricks" and Bob Moffat at "Weld.com", two of the best welding instructional video channels on YT. Remember welding is a bit like learning to write or paint, its a hand eye coordination thing along with some technical knowledge for the different metals and welding parameters.

      Adam's company did the patches for The Collective, brother. I thought YOU introduced ME to him. Once I have room, I'm picking up a few tools and I'll start teaching myself. I may even take a few classes.

    • @markfryer9880
      @markfryer9880 7 лет назад

      Careful David, using tools and making stuff is addictive, time and space consuming and expensive, and for some strange reason people refer to those sort of things as "junk" unless you happen to be building/ making something for them. You may find yourself searching for a "Man Cave" as well.

      My tools are in service to ANOTHER hobby, so fear not. Unless my tools can allow me to simulate flying legally, I'll stick with riding and use the tools to make things different (and hopefully, better).
