    I have ifuse 1.1.3 and fedora.

    Great video. Does this method of connecting iPhone using ifuse work with iOS17?

      what is the version of ifuse you are using? and what is the version of iOS you are trying to backup? I just did this on an iOS 16 phone and it worked.

      Maybe you can do the “apt upgrade” and “apt update” first. That seems to solve versionitis problems sometimes.

    Restoring data from iPhone 11(version 16.6) to iPhone SE (3rd Gen) (version 16.6.1) photos and video are restoring but contacts are not. Checked with memory contacts too.
    But when I am restoring same backup with iTunes it is restoring contacts.
    Command for backup -
    idevicebackup2 -u sourceDeviceID backup --full backupPath
    Command for restoring -
    idevicebackup2 restore --system --settings -s sourceDeviceID -u destinationDeviceID backupPath
    Can u pls help me out?

      I see that you have also submitted an issue at GitHub for idevicebackup2 and I didnt see any resolution there. My guess is that Apple changed something in the contacts structure after the last version of idevicebackup2 so your best bet is the developer community on GitHub.
      Please let me know if you do figure this out. thx.

    To answer another question from Louis overlord:
    BTW, is Caine come w any utilities can FDE Mac based file system?
    I am not aware of any tools on CAINE that can help with Full Disk Encryption on the Mac's HFS+ or APFS. Anyone else out there know if there are tools that can help with that?

    May I know the ver of libimobiledevice6 at your end? Since I got complie check failure due to 1.2.1 is not able to update ifuse from 1.13 into 1.14

    • @BlueMonkey4n6
      @BlueMonkey4n6  2 года назад

      are you using CAINE? if so, which version?
      In the video, I was using CAINE 12 and the ifuse version was 1.13 which I updated to 1.1.5. The version of libimobiledevice 1.3.1 comes with CAINE12 or you can get latest from GitHub.

    i'm doing it 2nd time and it has stopped at "full backup mode" and the process doesn't keep going on naturally. what could be the problem?

    • @BlueMonkey4n6
      @BlueMonkey4n6  Год назад

      What version of iOS is the phone? I have not tested any newer iOS versions since i made the video so that could be the problem.
