I think as others have said, once you have two similarly great guitars like this one and the Gibson, it tends to come down to which one you bond with more over the longer term. Thank goodness you’re in an ideal position to do that kind of evaluation with these two now.
Brilliant guitars we have the white & gold top versions. As soon as a UK retailer gets the P90 version in stock we will buy one 👌 The multi ply binding and locking tuners are awesome 👍
I went from LP style to Tele, tried a jazzmaster and finally i have found out how good strats are! I just feel more through a strat and have not looked back! Thanks for showing, John, and have a great sunday evening!🎸🤘🎸
Great vid mate. It didn't sound like that at my place. 😅😂😅 You seem to be on fire on this guitar mate. The S7 send her regards to the master. ❤❤❤ Curious to see your comparison with the Les Paul tribute and others. The L7 lost the competition with my Les Paul, Tokai and Vintage Greeny Moore.
Sweet L7 demo, looks great sounds great! I hate to tell the L7 that it's days are numbered but what do I know. All depends, when the lights are out, on whether Blondie and Leslie are getting along. And John thinks it's up to him.
Great Job John!!! so do u prefer Sire L7 or Epiphone Les Paul 1959 limited Edition? Do you explain your choice please ? Thanks a lot anche compliments!!! Max
I think once you have two flawless guitars you like the deciding issue becomes whether you 'connect' more to the one than the the other, apart from genre or rhythm vs solo etc.
The Sire L7 is a cracking guitar. I’ve got the goldtop version I changed the pickups to Iron gear Blues engines to be honest the stock pickups are really good. Mine had treble bleeds on the tones which are not needed really for the blues engines so I replaced the wiring with cts pots, cloth wire and for sh*ts and giggles I put in some paper and oil capacitors. I’m going to tweak the wiring so it’s out of phase so I can have the Peter Green/ BB king sounds. Oh and just for aesthetics I got a poker chip for the pickup switch. For me it’s the only LP I’ll ever need although I do like the black one which looks like a custom.
I've got two L7s if any fellow viewer is interested they can message John for my details. Another great video and it's obvious to see how much you enjoy the L7. The neck is probably the smoothest I've ever come across. Interestingly, Colin Guitarista didn't bond with it partly because it's very different from a traditional Les Paul 😮
John, another well put together and presented review. I love the sound of the guitar and I can see the playability is supererb. I only wish the headstock was less paddle like! If it wasn't for that I'd consider replacing my Epiphone 1959 with it!
Have you see the Sire Larry Carlton T7 FM NT Natural - Telecaster-Shape Guitar John? It looks like a Sire version of your signature guitar but with a trem. Now that would be a shootout!
Hey John, possible idea for a video, or if not, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Basically a comparison between your L7 and your H7. What I’m interested to know about is how much difference a guitar being hollowed out makes. Depending on who you ask (or which RUclipsr you’re watching) the difference is either vast or non-existent. Or somewhere in between. Presumably the other differences between the H7 and the L7 are negligible, so this would be reasonably scientific. 🙂
I think it's partly the shock of the new. It took me a while to get to love the Marcus Miller bass headstocks (I've had 5 since 2015) so by the time the T7, S7 series came out I was already used to them.. I actually took to the L7 headstock straight away.
Great demo John.

Strat style guitars have a very special feel and sound. Nothing else quite comes close. They are definitely a part of my guitar tone tool box!
You can tell how much you like the L7 John by the way you let rip at the end of the demo ;-)
Thanks for the vid, min on the way cant wait to play
Look forward to the comparison. Thanks

Wow, you have a nice set of 'alternatives', no wonder the L7 lost.
Nice guitar, like the sound, but somehow I dislike the pointy end at the cutaway down there.

Great review.Thank you

Great vid John
Aye, keep 'em both John lad. They are both stunners 😎
Great Job John!!!

Sire L7 all day long. It's the feel of the neck that wins it 👍
Those are god damn fine chops.
Did you consider the L7V? (P90s)
It would have been even more subtly different.

Hi John, now you have several LP type guitars are you putting "Greeny" wiring into any?
Already got that feature on Blondie, mate 👍
I like the look of the sculpted neck heel joint at 8:32 - I guess that improves upper fret access John?
Yes indeed 👍
Just got mine this week. first humbucks for me.

Exactly, why do so many lp styles have horrible headstock that turn you right off
I like the headstock
The head stock is fine and you don’t look at the head stock when playing.
only two more LP's to catch up with your Tele's?
Put the irongear tesla shark on this beauty and review how the pair works :)
Regards

Yep... seen that guitar & been tempted once or twice, but never succumbed to it.
You’ll soon have more LP’s than a branch of HMV, John! 🙂
Какая гитара лучше? Epiphone custom или SIRE 7 L??? Спасибо
Epiphone 👍
Do y’all still own it Mate?
Your signature is probably the best. I’d play that.
I've played one many times. Can attest to your findings. BUT - the neck is the seller. The neck is sublime.
Absolutely 👍

Great idea, unfortunately the H7 left the building some time ago 👍
@@JRobsonGuitar Ah damn. If you lived a bit nearer I’d lend you mine!
Sire All the way 😊
👍🏻👍🏻
A1 review
That intro kicked proper ass. Just sayin'.
No real feel of guitar in this video 😢
Problem with Sires is that they have pig ugly Headstocks. This one could be used as a snow shovel. The S and Ts look like horses heads.

The S7 headstock reminds me of the old Valley Arts guitars from the 80s
