  • I went to the Malaysian Street in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam because man had no Vietnamese Dong left. These Vietnamese people spoke fluent Bahasa Melayu (Official Language in Malaysia), better than me. Please hit the like and subscribe button if you enjoy these kind of videos.

    Those might be Cham Muslims whose language is part of the Austronesian family together with Malay, Javanese, Sundanese etc.
    They might have pick up Malay because of family contacts in Malaysia. Kelantan and Terengganu are home to a Cham diaspora.
    Fun fact : The Cham language is closely related to Acehnese.

      Good insight. I’m ignorant to the different kinds of Malay accents. They sounded Kelantan-ish to me haha. We need to go to Aceh to witness it

      @@IrrelevantMat The Malay they were speaking might be Kelantan-ish because of family ties. Also during the olden days before the wars in Indo-China, many Chams - especially Cambodian Chams - went to Kelantan for their religious studies.
