Shawn and Charlotte, In the late forties and into the fifties My dad and I had a large Lionel Train set in a room in our farm house.. We had water towers, coal trains, milk trains...a lot of detail. For many years there was a massive multi-level train display at a converted barn in Flemington, N.J.. It covered the entire American landscape with working trains, from city to desert. It's gone but not forgotten. I hope you achieve your dreams but never forget, it's the journey through life that is most important, being in the now. Cheers, Frederick Spector
As a fan of railways generically, think anyone with a form of fascination for railways would have or did have an involvement in model railways however brief! My liking for it started young but never ventured as far as having a permanent layout. I then followed on to model engineering whereby scaling down things from full size working locomotives to a miniature form. I now have the privilege of having built working scale versions of a number of steam locomotives to which one you can sit within and others you sit behind and ride. I've offered before prior to your channel name change but if you would like to prepare, steam up and operate a steam locomotive for the day, I'd be more than happy to make that happen. I will attempt to find you on social media peripherals and contact you forwarding on this offer to you guys. Keep up the awesomeness.
Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from the Hornby Hobbies Visitor Centre located in Margate! This awesome museum features rare products from the Hornby, Scalextric, Airfix, and Corgi archives along with spectacular Model Railway and Scalextric layouts! keep the good videos coming on the channel.
This was a very therapeutic vlog, words cannot do these mechanical models justice there’s something about them that’s so satisfying to watch them going around the tracks, not only do I enjoy some of these impressive models, my ultimate favourite ones are the Harry Potter James Bond Coca-Cola, car racing interactions, including the Christmas models with all of the festivities props theming fun fairs landscapes music lighting package, it makes us appreciate the importance of having our own unique little personal collection experiences as the collections themselves aren’t cheap they’ve got personal value to them haven’t they. Shawn? I somehow can recall that didn’t you physically go and visit the famous Santa Coca-Cola truck at one time, great vlog really enjoyed this 👍
Great Video and I went myself with my wife a couple of years ago! The A4s/Mallard you were looking at in the cabinets. Were when hornby did live steam oo gauge locomotives and that shows you the inside of the locomotive boiler/Cylinders etc. These models are now discontinued due to production costs etc.
Model railways really are a thing you could get interested in! I love them! Next time your up south during the theme park season you should visit the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway or even the UK's longest 7&1/4 inch guage miniature railway at barnards farm. It also gives you can oppertunity to visit barnards farm of which I believe has some sculptures inside! Definitely worth a visit if your in the area. I havn't had the chance to but I reccomend you go if your near!
This brought back some memories! My dad had a whole loft set up for my brother and we managed to salvage it all when they moved house and before he died. It’s over 40 years old and includes the classic Intercity 125 replica and the freight Class 56. Can still hear the noise of the engines going round and the little switch tracks moving positions. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Really enjoyed the Hornby visitor centre my mum runs a model train shop here in Sydney Australia for the past 33 years. She has train layouts as well. Definitely you and Charlotte should add a small layout to the themepark museum. They are great for children to entertain as well. Maybe a visit to a preserved railway would be good on the Sanbrook adventures as well. Love you guys keep up the great work. Hugs 😊 ❤
brought back memories 1960s one christmas, dad brought me a train set but was only a small scale one train that gos round and round on a small track kep me entertain for a few houres
I love Theme Park Worldwide and all the vlogs from different Theme Parks, Water Parks, Hotels, Golf and other Themed attractions but i also find the videos from other places really interesting too on this channel, love both channels and what you both do, thankyou for giving us great insights and detail into all the amazing atrractions and places to visit not just in the UK, but around the woldz love both channels and never missed a vlog since i started proerally following you both sinec 2021, keep up the good work!
27:30 that's their exhibition layout so that goes out to various model railway exhibitions and I would imagine they change up the scenery from time to time.
we switched from Gauge to scale. and also grade. the grade determines the amount of detail of a model. master and perfect being the absolute best. Scale is more to do with size. I built a couple of model railroads for Christmas but took them apart. My specialty is gundam and cars with diorama work. I don't do trains very well but cars and model robots are fine. diorama work boils down to what do you want to make or what do you want to recreate and plan out most of the layout with some exceptions to what you can get your hands on.
Very nice video my favorite part is the Hornby Thomas the tank engine collection 2:51as I grew up watching the original Thomas and friends model series and I hope to get to chance to visit the museum sometime in the future thanks for sharing this amazing vlog experience 👍❤️
There is family near where I live who have created a similar museum, not specific manufacturer based, but its all over their home. Its free to visit but appointments are needed. They're booked out for at least a year! Very popular ... I love it!
Model railways are fantastic, currently have an Ngauge layout and slowly progressing to a nice sized 00 gauge. The beauty of the model railway is, you can do it exactly how you want
17:57 the North East Corridor in the United States can't runner double deckers because of a few tunnels-but there are still Chicago routes that terminate in New York/Boston and DC that don't use the corridor that do. Most use the Superliners, but SoCal has the exclusive Surfliner which seems to just have a nicer/more spacious coach and different menu than the other bi-level routes
I used to work at the factory back in the 80s. Started out printing Thomas the Tank engine faces, then the Rothmans scaletrix cars and then moved onto the Orient Express pullmans. They used to give long service employees models of certain trains on retirement ie Mallard etc. £65 per week and a £10 bonus if you weren’t late.
I think its funny opening OpenRailway, zooming on a theme park and see a coaster's track and seeing what gauge it thinks its in. I don't know if like Smiler uses a common railroad gauge-although I can see it a bit more so for Wickerman or that scenic railway in Margate, it is called a scenic railway after all
Great vid guys ..i live in ramsgate about 2 miles from there and must drive past hormbys at least once a week and never been inside but deffo will after watching this 👍
I live just 10 mins from there and love it. Have you ever thought about going to a model railway exhibition. It displays loads of diffrent layouts at the same venue. There's exhibitions in Milton Keynes, Birmingham, York and alot more.
We’ve got the Simpsons scalextric set at HQ!! Great fun to play with though we have a habit of stopping Homer at a point and Bart whizzing by knocks him off the track
You must go and visit Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, didn’t think that the other half would enjoy it, but I had to drag her out some three hours later.
Hi guys I’m currently working on my new oo guage layout unlike any I’ve seen based on the Blackpool express going round the pleasure beach and scale coasters and working rides in the middle of the layout based on early days blackpool trams running outside and illuminations
Hi, I also set up a model railway but lost interest after a while and its still left up in my loft 😅 If one day you set up your railway and ares still doing youtube I'd love to see the process 👍
I know through experience that train sets are never completed. My dads was always a work in progress. I was never allowed to play because it was never “finished”.
Another fine content of video as always Sean, just an observation though you might need to change your FPS settings, this one seemed a little juddery pal.. 👍🏼

I wanted to request that for Charlotte in the most nicest thoughtful 🤔politest way possible , I wasn’t quite sure how to ask you both if that’s ok by you as I genuinely care about my idols, family, friends, people, children and animals
