Cotton, linen most natural fibers are ideal for this heirloom technique. The key is to stiffen the fabric. As for the stitch. The B 480 does not have the pin stitch but you could use a triple blanket (located in the quilting bank of stitches).

Gail, for me with bad eye sight and I have to thread myself, I found that threading with tweezers helps, don't know why but it does, good luck
