Not supporting the pro touch controllers is dumb. Anyone who upgraded to them on Quest 2 won't want to upgrade to Quest 3S.

Hi Shhark, Meta Quest 3 and 3S come with the Meta Quest Touch Plus controllers. They feature improved haptics and a ringless design, with the tracking LEDs embedded in the faceplate and base. You can also use the Touch Pro controllers that were released with the Meta Quest Pro on Quest 3. Touch Pro controllers are not supported on Quest 3S.

I have had my Quest 2 for 2 years. If I purchase a Quest 3s, can I transfer the apps that I bought and use to a 3s?

removal of the headphone jack is ridiculous, WHY REMOVE FEATURES? this is supposed to be a cutting edge device and it doesn't have the simple convenience such as a headphone jack? I fail to understand why companies do this
They stripped back everything they could to meet that $299 price. And they did it. It’s a monumental achievement.
Remember this is the budget option, the, “ cutting edge device”, is the existing Quest 3. I thought that was pretty clear?

Quest 3S is the cheaper model, concessions were made to meet the price and now way more people can jump into the space.
VR isn’t a joke anymore, but most people are still living in 2016 thinking VR is google cardboard.
Educate and understand what’s available now. 100+ hour massive open world RPG Asgards Wrath 2, Assassins Creed Nexus, Batman, Metro, Alien, Behemoth.
Virtual screens so I can play Xbox on a giant cinema screen, or watch Netflix/prime/youtube in bed with a 150” screen in 3D.
Fitness apps that work better and cost less than a gym membership.
Sports sims, like table tennis, boxing, golf and Walkabout mini golf which has amazing social features to chill with friends.
This is reading like an ad, but it’s genuinely a list of things I do on the regular. But most people think VR is something you watch on a phone to pretend to ride a rollercoaster.

@@DeeSaxVR removing a $5 part what a monumental achievement, what is pretty clear however is that you're pretty braindead, I didn't mention anything else besides the headphone jack, and I'd say this is in the realm of cutting edge if you ask me
There is headphone jack on quest 3?
I don’t understand for who this headset is made. People who already have quest 3 have no reason to get it and they aren’t a target audience. People with Quest 2 don’t see a point of upgrading to it, because we use it for gaming and the upgraded pass through isn’t that important, while the upgraded hardware is cool, the main roadblock for the visuals is the resolution which wasn’t increased dramatically enough for us to upgrade. Original quest users? Sure but it isn’t that many people, and they mostly seem to consist of the group of people who buy something and use it until it breaks, which makes me think that they will in the end up throw in a couple of dollars to upgrade to quest 3.
As a quest 2 user, I didn’t see quest 3 to be a sufficient enough upgrade even through I have the money so I will definitely not be getting 3s.
I believe there was a huge missed operunity of just making quest 3 $50 cheaper, and making a proper upgrade for quest 3 for $200 more then the current price of quest 3.

Wasn't expecting headsets going through the same headphone jack removal process that phones went through a few years ago any time soon. I hope the upgrade to android 14 will improve the latency by a lot

lmao, removing audio jack is the worst decision. Like, i'm okay if you added second usb-c port, but having a single usb-c port is dumb. Headset is cr@p, useless now.
My guy you can just use a Bluetooth headset. Besides microphone and sound are included anyways. Most headphones that require a jack are low quality anyway so I don't understand why it's such a big issue for you?

For a given set of bluetooth headphones, for the same price you should always be able to find a wired set of higher sound/build quality. Plus, latency is still a concern, especially if you play rhythm games like Beat Saber or Synth Riders at a high level. And this largely negates the benefits of popular integrated audio strap mods, like with KSC75 headphones, which I've done on my Q2 and Q3. Without a jack, you have to deal with pairing, latency, and an extra device you need to worry about keeping charged. And this should go without saying, but the "included" speakers are likely to be both tinny and significantly audible to others, which is undesirable for both parties.
