Directly or indirectly. God blesses sunday school teachers who love their children in a very special way. Ours were like grandmothers to us. In other cases, they became spiritual mothers. In life this side, they never knew who'd we become. I sure bet the Lord has given them a glimpse of what is and is yet to come...and there is great joy!
I think there's an over emphasis on finding "calling", the basic truth is we re all called to be representation of christ in all things we do, if there's something specific that people feel compelled to or want thats extra and amazing and some people are and some people just want to but isnt required, we aren't called to be planted in the sense of natural physical circumstances, we are to be planted in the word with our mind and actions, to equip us in whatever we do whenever we do it, also.the modern corporate business model isn't the model of pre 300ad church, it was disciplship, we aren't called to "go to church and stay there" (that is what corporate wants passive returning consuming customers) we are called to be the church - that may include meeting with small groups and attending services but it's not a social club, we are to be salt spread out among the world not kept inside, or stuck in one physical place even though there's value to that, the bottom line isn't focus on where we plant ourselves in the physical sense but plant ourselves in the word and represent it wherever we go we do have that freedom, then you can decide if you have a passion for to be "plant" aka commit or believe God wants you specifically to a specific thing to an area or people or country or youtube - its very nuanced don't get caught up in "being planted" except being planted in the word then things will become more clear
I think you misunderstood the point raised here, the word is a seed that should be planted in us ( Lord Jesus christ said in the parable that the seed indicates the word and our heart represents the place that the word will be planted) And here what John Bevere raised is , we as an individual should be planted at one church to grow spiritually, flourish in God's house and be a vessel in God's kingdom. And I definitely think that it's mandatory to seek God regarding that though it's not popular!
I tend to agree. Im following this series closely but this episode threw me off quite a bit as I thought being planted in the Word of God is the obvious answer...
Totally agree Jordan. I speak with many people who spend years wondering where to plant themselves. The frustration becomes intense and we end up missing the entire point of the Gospel.
Well you have a point but I think u missed his point too. The scripture says we all have to abide in the him and the word must abide in us but the one he read in psalms talks about being planted in the house of the lord not in the word, these are 2 different things and they are both important. I believe we must do the primary without omitting the latter. The first is clearly how we grow in God and the latter is how we grow in service to God and thats how we find and walk in our calling... I think this is an important discussion.
I’m actually pretty mad at you right now. I’m not fortunate enough to be planted. I’m stuck out in a remote area of Texas unable to be part of a Godly community. I’m like David in the caverns. Nothing would make me happier than to be planted. But I’ve never been lucky enough. I’m a former alcoholic and performing musician. I’ve never been lucky enough to stay in one place. Financially it hasn’t been an option. I’m sober these days and I’m constant mediation and study of God. However, I guess you’re suggesting that I’ll never amount to anything because my life circumstances haven’t allowed it. I’ve heard your back story. You’re so lucky and blessed you have no idea what it’s like to be me. You’ve never had one ounce of the hardships I’ve faced.

Seek diligently and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you
I been a man after God heart most or all my life but not walking in my calling this is why.
