- This is a collection of artwork from one of my favorite artists: Ralph McQuarrie. Ralph McQuarrie was the original concept artist for the Original Star Wars Trilogy. His artwork was the basis of the look and feel of the Star Wars Galaxy. He sadly passed away on March 3rd, 2012 at the age of 82.
(None of this work belongs to me. All rights go to McQuarrie's family)

I have 7 books on his Star Wars art including the two portfolios from ESB and ROTJ respectively!!! That being said I did not see some of these. Like the one where HOTH has vegetation. So cool!!!
Simply wonderful artwork..thanks for sharing
This is so great! The special about him is nice but they didn't show a lot of his work.
This man was a legend and icon
Mc quarrie, Williams, Lucas, kurtz, Burt,. Tippet.
And how fascinating to see some of the locations that never made it, like the Egyptian-themed ones or the giant anthill/root-type things. Wonder if we're getting a sneak preview of ideas for Episode VII!
The guys at 3:03 are the chaps in the bar on Tatooine who try and intimidate Luke
Really great, thank you.
All of this artwork was used in all of the movies some way or another.
Perhaps. I've heard Lucas likes to use unused ideas from the past into future projects. Most disregarded concepts for the Original Trilogy found it's way into the Prequels or the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show.
Bane Knightfall Excuse me. But can I talk to you about something?
2:05 lol yoda
at least its not the dark knight theme again
It was all I had at the time. If I had made them now I probably would have used more vaired music. Like the John William's Superman theme or 1989 Batman.
@@death-king1834 its not really a criticism, it just got saturated after a while, but i really like your videos and its cool that you can show so many art in 10 to 13 minutes
Ralph McQuarrie can you draw artwork for the NEWLY created country of HEAVEN?
He's dead.
Darkseid Oh really, I did not know that he died, well that's too bad...
He was a great artist...
