I'm starting a Global Health MSc this september and your videos have helped me a lot to understand the career paths available in the broad area that is global health. Great work!

I appreciate your videos Dr. Martin. I have followed you for about 10 years to break into Global Health. Had no idea what that even meant. I now work as a Global Health Project Coordinator after working various administrative jobs. There is definitely a misconception that working local doesn't mean you wont work in Global Health. I started locally and now iam working with different countries to improve healthcare. So keep up the videos, always great to learn about this amazing field.
Hi Zara - thanks for the comment. Glad to see that there are people in Ireland watching my videos. I recently (3 years ago) moved to Ireland actually. What a lovely, friendly country!! :)

Many people are working in Global Health, but I know two of them- one is Hans Rosling for his great work with Gapminder, and you (Greg Martin). All of your videos are informative, including this one! Keep doing these and make things interesting for us. Anyway, when we talk about public health or global health, it is important to know about epidemiology. So please make a video on how to become a pure epidemiologist- I mean what we need to be an epidemiologist. Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback and for the suggestion Mamunur. I will certainly try to make more videos about epidemiology. In the interim, you can find a few videos on epidemiology that I've made on my epidemiology play list - here is a link: ruclips.net/p/PLujS9ooBebKWlbmIQOtYaJBjKE4VSimXJ
Wonderful Greg. I studied Public health at University of Liverpool and I am very impressed. I run an NGO - Health, Environment and Development Foundation (HEENDEF) but I am 66 years old. Can I still be useful to my community in Nigeria.
Thanks for the message Bamgboye - I'm delighted to see people like you out there making a difference and making the world a better place. I love the subject matter that your NGO engages. Its people like you that really make a difference and I'm sure that your community in Nigeria would really appreciate the work that you do. Greg

Thank you Dr. Martin for your great videos! Could you recommend me some online courses of management in public health? I really want to learn more about these skills.
Thanks for the question. In terms of doing a short course, I don't know of anything off hand that focuses specifically on management and public health (I really think that there should be something!) Northwestern University does have a Masters program that includes a strong management component (you could look into). The other things that I"d suggest its hat you look into MOOCs (massive open access online courses). Just to a search for MOOC and management and something will come up. Good luck!
Hi Greg! thank you for the videos, I really enjoy them. Was watching some of your videos and I was pondering over this question, not sure if you could address it "how effective or effective has the tropical medicine approach been in tackling global health issues?"

Hi there - yes a post-grad degree in community medicine would be extremely useful. Of course, it all depends on what it is that you want to do in the future but that kind of education would certainly open doors.
Thanks! I was thinking of maybe doing a short term online public health course simultaneously with 3yrs of psm, as M.P.H institutes are not very good in my country. I would love to work in a public health organisation. Do u feel this is a good course of action?
