Instead of ba ceiling fan, if you purchase a basic DC brushless motor and wood including the cost of weldin of 10 Rs. And wood working
It would not cost more than 350 to 500 rupees even if the tinkering of roller to make it automatic is added....

Good for a fun project, but not a good idea from a business pov. just pressing with a flattop gives you the same results. No need to spin it with ceiling fan. in the restaurants, they do it by hands in 2 seconds. Not efficient either

Well one's hands will have to touch the dough at some point you know, for placement and removal. Plus if a person is cooking for their own family then what's the worry? Unless one's family are extremely filthy and then the person should be eating at home anyway.

Chapati if you make it by pressing only will make it like rubber. This machine handle works exactly like belan which is rolled on chapati. I will definitely make or order 1 for my home. We need average 25 chapati daily

One suggestion you should keep the switch in such a way that when you lower the handle it automatically get pressed and start the machine.
That will be in upgraded version 🤠
That is not a good idea. Then the machine will go on even if accidentally the handle is lowered. That would be a safety issue
It can be the other way around.. It spins only if the handle is lowered, even if the power is on

You could also create shims that would set constant distance from the circular table and that way you'd get same (& adjustable) thickness of naan bread every single time :D
That's what I was thinking, I made pita pockets several times many years ago (the small ones inflate into perfect spheres, like softballs, in the oven) and they roll out a little thicker than this. Or . . . rolling out marzipan or fondant.

Note that the fan motor is switched on off every 20 seconds. It is likely to burnout . some safety feature must be added

Meaning with the weight of the blades and the force they exert.
It didn't seem like there was a motor break, the motor slows down progressively.
But home purpose useful not heavy uses 20chapaties every day 👍
Mixer motors should be used the i guess

Very good idea. One suggestion for improvement is that the push button can be set in such a way that it gets pressed when the arm of the roller is pushed down. It can function as an automatic start/stop.

Although, I gotta say this has that certain kind of retro feel to it. Might be even cooler and more reliable to add a murcury switch on the handle.

This design is good as it replicates the action of the belan rather than just “pressing” the ball of dough. Kudos 😀
Improvement Suggestion -
Need to cover the below gaps, while making roti you need to put some aata for lubrication, that will go down to the motor area🤗
He is not using aata as lubricant.instead, He is brushing oil on plastic round sheet he made from file. Dry flour is not at all advisable on this machine.
