We need this in the Church of England some of the modern hymns we get “Repeat this four times” trash ! It just leaves me cold, do this sort of thing or bring back our traditional hymns and music, by the way this is fantastic guys thanks for posting 🪕👍
This IS Chickenskin music. Was recently sitting with my iPhone on a beach in Vietnam playing this tune via WIFI. It´s so good that tears started to roll. Keep on! Joacim
I have been enjoying this clip of my favorite hymn on mandolin/banjo. Then while in Nashville for National Guard conference, went to the Gran Ole Opry. What a suprise to meet you two girls staffing the souvenir table outside. Thanks for sharing your talent with us who are trying to be 1/2 as good as you are.
Be Thou My Vision is one of my favorite hymns. I've listened to many versions, vocally and instrumentally, and this is the most unique. One of my favorite. Thanks for posting this eight years ago. People are still enjoying it.
Just looking around youtube and if it ain't o'l Penny and Katy....Ben I am very impressed with all the music that you and your sisters do....great song.
You guys are way cool. I want to spend Christams at your place!! My daughter just bought a mandolin and \i'm going to show her these videos. God Bless you and yours. Marco Chester \england
That is nothing short of incredible. You guys have some serious talent, I'm a guitar player and watching you guys makes me want to pickup the Mandolin and just get after it! Thanks for the awesome music, you guys constantly encourage me to be a better musician!
Ben, you and your friends never cease to amaze me! Thanks for sharing your talents in one of my favorite hymns of all time!!! God bless you brother and your friends- The Purple Hulls!!!
Good deal...wish I was there right now! No place like East Texas! I'm from the woods in between Kilgore and Henderson, so I'm not too far away from you. Take it easy!
Wow! This band is awesome! Why don't we ever have bluegrass come to Long Island, N.Y.? I am definitely moving to the country nexy year, if it's possible!! BobbyK To the band, you must have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours of practice to get this good! May the Lord bless your work for Him! In Christ's Love, BobbyK
WOW! Amazing use of three very different stringed instruments. You have made all three perfect in harmony and use overall. And this is one of my favorite hymns. Well done.
Both, I have been playing guitar for 43 years since I was 5yo. I've seen this played in a classical style and bluegrass, I would just to learn a simple fingering style to play it in my church someday.
Awesome video!!! There is so much talent in your family. You guys took a great tune and made it sound even better. Thanks for the post and God Bless!!! Jesse
hey girls its ur favorite cousin dru lol u guys are so amazing and i know god is going to bless u guys so much and know that with our talents we can do anything... even at cross roads lol love yall
Hi ben i just watched your video on picks for playing a banjo. I just ordered a banjo so i dont have it yet but can you recommend to a first time player picks that i can try?
I looked for this song because I have joined a concert band and wanted to learn some of the material. I found this by chance. My initial impression was just three "nobodies" who were "noodling around". That impression was dissipated very quickly. I am not a fan of hymns or bluegrass, but this is brilliant. The mandolin playing is fantastic - really high quality stuff. Very enjoyable listen. Doesn't help with my band role, as the tempo is speeded up, but no matter - a quality piece.
you´re right!! pretty girls, heavenly music! who can ask more! thanks girls! you´re great, I´d like to have some cd from these girls a big thankyou from south america
Came by to listen. I have the CD but I just love seeing you guys play as well. Happy St Patrick's Day. How about recording "I Cannot Tell"? god Bless in Christ Jesus, Andrew
