Trash trucks appeal to all the senses...you can see them, smell them, touch them, hear them, and if your into it.....eat....no we won't go there!They have moving parts, big sounds, do a cool service and they are part of that "enviro" saving generation! I just love them...simply because they bring out the child in me!

I drive a Mack Garb Truck for the school district, and the kids love it when the truck comes around. Best part about working for the county... dont have to get out off the AC ;)
I still enjoy watching them too, and I drive a front loader similar to this one. First time I've seen controls outside of the cab though (I guess I haven't been doing it long enough). I sure wish our trucks had that feature! My knees complain when I climb into the cab each time. I'm trying to figure out how to make my Cybershot into a headcam, so I can do a virtual garbage truck vid, and upload it on RUclips. Watch for it!
@TheTrashman97 The red, white and blue are the old Laidlaw waste systems colors. Allied purchased Laidlaw waste back in 1996. They were always my favorite looking fleet too.. mostly macks if I remember right.

It looks quicker to push the dumpster on and pull it off the forks just because he has the arm controls on the outside of the cab. I only have controls on the inside of the cab of the truck I drive, so I just drive into the dumpsters I pull out. I have about 60 pull-outs on one of my routs, they are a pain in the butt, but because we work for the city, they won't pull them out for us, bastards.
No offense taken bro. I know my place here ;0) Incidentally, the outfit I work for is family owned and operated as well. I've worked for big outfits and small outfits (in construction), and find that I prefer working for a small company, where I know the people I work for.

I agree, i have a lot of roll out dumpsters such as the one he picked up and have to jump in and out of the cab, the outside control would be great.

I haven't seen this exact truck in years! I think in most Republic Services locations they are out of service
It's been known to happen...usually the person yells before they get compacted. But if they didn't, who's to say?
