Agree it feels they should have made this book while ago. How long have Miles fans been wanting them to hangout more. The vinettes are super weird but putting it together with the solicitations for issue 3 seems to imply someone or something is messing with people's head and Grantjng them their desires.
This first issue alone feels like an extreme breath of fresh air from the crap we've been getting lately. Next to Spencer, Weisman is such a fantastic SM writer. Although Nick Lowe editing this series has me extremely worried now...
I thought them choosing to acknowledge that Miles has been dating Starling for some time now but having him suggest flirting with other people at the coffee shop was a very weird detail. Idk why we’re trying to normalize that and as a Miles fan that really irked me, as that doesn’t seem like something Miles would ever do or say. Fun first issue though

Loved the art here. It felt so good to see Ramos draw Spider-Man again. The splash pages looked great, dinamic throughout the issue and those repeating panels of them webbing up the Jackal were cool
Marvel should do more of this were successors actually spends time with their predecessors, similar to how Riri and Tony have been in the iron man book. At least that’s how I prefer to sell legacy characters
Ironically the show Marvels Spider man addresses this conundrum of two miles by changing jackal into Raymond Warren Peter's high school science teacher in this universe.
This was a fun start to the series. It has a very dense script introducing characters, establishing a status quo, packing lots of quips and jokes, setting up at least two mysteries, and sneaking in some references. I recommend people read Weisman's Starbrand & Nightmask mini-series, since some of the characters from there bleed onto this series.
One of my favourite jokes you didnt mention was when kenny calls pete 'paul' and pete kinda looks backwards in embarrassment. It felt like a tiny dig towards wells' run.
I wondered if the gwen stacy in this series is either a clone, an alternate version of her or simply a recently revived gwen though I cannot wait to see how peter would repair his relationship with her after she dissipates from the progenitor
This issue was alright, the cutaway to the dream sequences didn't work as well in comic form as it wasn't too jarring. I like weisman adding a friend for miles and the fact that he's building a joined supporting cast for peter snd miles is cool
That's not on Miles though, that's on Peter's writers and (largely) Marvel Editorial. Miles has had nothing to do with how Peter's been written ever, regardless of *who* writes Peter's book.
Hulk Jackel 💪, also I love the new characters & they introduce flash’s old girlfriend. The only flaw in this comic is when Peter shout that he finally found the perfect coffee 😂😅. Like don’t they ever make him mature?

Oh joy, it’s not like that hasn’t been done to death. Weissmen had a chance to really improve Peter in this on going. To do what he wanted with him instead of just keeping to the disappointing norm. Greg said that Peter is trying to act like a “ cool” person when he’s hanging out with Miles( and failing at it tremendously). That’s the joke, because Peter has always been a nerd, so it’s a nerd’s idea of what cool is.
