I´ll never gonna be tired of saying this, but the loooong 8 years wait for this guy´s return was really worth. I subbed to Marvin in 2012, then he disappeared from YT and people started to unsubscribe, but I never did, I´ve always had the hope he would make a comeback, and look at now we have this gem of an instructor right back throwing golden concepts and knowledge in 2020.
    Love you Marvin

My Coach tells me that when your in your boxing stance, your toes on both feet must always face your opponent. He says this allows you to generate maximum power when you punch. He used a saying that, when a sprinter sprints in the Olympics, their toes are facing the finish line; if their toes were facing opposite direction, they can’t run as fast. Wherever toes point is where power goes. My Coach is Al Ice Cole former Cruiserweight Champion. My name is Kevin Gonzalez and I am training to compete in the 2024 Olympics in France. @@krioni86sa If you already learned to box in the way that Marvin lowkey disses all the time you would have to be really humble in order to choose to train this style of boxing. I've come to the conclusion that what he says about moving and punching is very true, although you can definitely debate the details of his teaching such as the foot alignment and choice to limit your own offensive capabilities in the hopes that your opponent does not have the same freedom of movement as you. However, I will continue to watch his videos and feel out his boxing philosophy. If it doesn't work I'll just switch back, no harm done, I have only gotten crisper lateral footwork and a quicker jab for it.

Watching this, understating the correct way to throw a jab, and watching Michael Jai White demonstrate non-telegraphed movements, it's absolutely clear. If they're moving their head, and your jab comes from the rotation of the hips so it's kind of hard to tell when it's coming, and you're doing subtle half steps around your opponent to create angles which is also difficult to detect, (especially if you're moving your head around like a chicken listening to trap music) these jabs are going to land every time and the set ups will be easier and easier still. They're so focused on the jab they _think_ they see coming, they don't even know about the cross that's about to knock them out.
    Thank you for this lesson.

I really like how you explain things and love the knowledge behind it. I love boxing even though I train MMA but I train boxing beside it separately just because I love boxing. some people tell me that some of my boxing techniques like deeping down for a body hooks or shovel hooks are dangerous for MMA. I searched a lot to find a video on boxing specially for MMA but there are not.
Even though I think I am an above average boxer and understand fighting enough to understand that all boxing techniques from outsides are good for MMA though I may be missing some important aspects of its differences. I would love to see you do a video on boxing for MMA guys. just a suggestion now that you mentioned MMA in this video.

boxing is real goldmine for every fight sport, what work or not work elsewhere depends on style and it would be just common sense to choose one technique above others... of course you don't want to dip into a knee as much as you don't want to give your leg while kicking... boxing is just more "scientific", competitive, rich of information and spread across the globe than any other fightsport

The thing I don't truly understand about moving laterally to create angles, and that I still don't understand after watching this video, is that it feels like if you are moving laterally around your opponent, you have to move a larger distance to "create an angle" than they have to pivot to adjust to that angle. They can see your mass moving to the side, make a small micro adjustment with a pivot, and now you've taken a step, and they've done a small pivot, and there is no angle. You've used a larger motion trying to create it than they have to adjust to it.
