Bought this for my youngest to develop basic form for single hand kettlebell work. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxtaDAl93XF8wxJhssTtjIFjzid82wglva It has a nice grip on it, just a little rough so it isn't slippery. I was doing a few rotator cuff exercises to test and worked well for those movements I'd been doing with a regular dumbbell. Cool thing you can do is hold it in your hand for door-knob turns to work the forearm and grip. Note: it's small, almost all handle, but that's what I expected given the weight. Smallest I've worked with before is 15lbs, so it was kind of funny to see the difference 10lbs makes.
Perfect explaination!... I've completely wrecked my inner elbow tendons and developed golfers elbow trying to learn the snatch. Nobody concentrates on the lowering phase, which is the most difficult and important part of the movement. This was fantastic.
I'm just starting to do snatches for volume so this video is great. Only 30 or 20lb kettlebells to start but later this year I'll be able to pump up the weight safely.
Man thanks for this, nobody really goes into the "drop heavy weight in a controlled way" part for some reason! Feels way better having it in control all the way down
I find that ruclips.net/user/MarkWildman does. He tends to be vary technique and safety oriented in his presentations. Also, his videos are very tight, well shot and edited.
awesome breakdown Mike! i rarely see KB videos slowing down or breaking down moves and explaining the little details while doing so. this is good for fine tuning the snatch!
I've been a big time gym goer all my life until I brought a 70lb kettlebell. I really can work every body part as I would if I had a gym membership. This really is a gem of power training
This is an awesome tutorial. I've been doing half snatches because I'm too chicken shit to do full snatches due to ripping my hands many times on the downward phase but the detailed demo and explanation of the corkscrew method shown here is perfect! Can't wait to get practicing on it this week! Thanks guys! 👍🏼💪👊
Excellent vid, there was one piece I was waiting on to see if you covered it and that was the pop into the fingers this helps the hands from calluses which usually get ripped of in the snatch also as you pointed out the way you demonstrated is the most efficient way to snatch like the kettlebell sport guys, on the flip side you also have panels hardsytle but the pop from palm to fingers is even more critical as that style isn't as efficient.
Show motion is the best of teaching bells yet no one's using it for some reason. I learned that by watching a kettlebell commercial watch was in slow motion.
Awesome video. I've been working on heavier snatches recently and a big problem was my grip and ripping apart the palms of my hands so this information will really help.
@@jesperbengtsson3793 Either way it's cut out from the video......???🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ That's what they're saying lol. Obviously it's the cameraperson's fault.
Great explanation🏆 I'm not a pro, but I've used the corkscrew version. Not 100% right🤭, but I like it with a heavy weight. I will try out the first technique
Would love to have a couple of weeks of training from Mike! Really like the way he broke things down on both methods of dropping from the top of the snatch position.
I feel like close to the body drop is a much more of a yank on the arm because the weight is dropping straight down. Outward in an arc seems to put less stress on the shoulder and other joints, but yes the timing needs to be on point with the hip snap backwards.
Learning how to do the clean and press without bruising your forearm. That you've learnt how to flex your wrist and put the bell correctly on your arm. Teaches you how to do the snatch properly. You'll instinctively know how to do the second technique shown in this clip.
Hi, thanks for you video, I'm trying to understand how incorporate correctly a snatch, clean and swing KETTLEBELL to my program because I really enjoy the movements, I'm trying to create a pull, push and legs program, should I put this in legs or pull? Thanks a lot
So a barbell snatch there’s that knee drop and catch position - is it ok to mimic that with two kettlebells? The kettlebell and barbell snatch seem quite different
Everytime I try to do one of these when the kettlebell nears the top and flips over in my hand it slams into my forearm...I have to use bells that are under 25% of my max, otherwise they'd snap my forearm. I don't get how people are doing these without that happening
This is pretty good. As he mentioned, the usual limiting factor for snatches (at moderate-high reps) is the grip, so any techniques that spare forearm/grip energy are useful. At my gym I have a 100lb-er with a high friction thick handle and a 100lb-er with a lower friction thin handle. I'm up to 17 snatches each arm, but I can do only ~35 with a 24kg, because of the forearm fatigue. I have no idea how people do 200+. We need more videos that help people who are already accustomed to the movement and are actually looking to improve performance. Almost everything is targeted toward old ladies who don't even break a sweat. Also, I don't know why anyone would use that first drop technique; it's straight inferior. What's the point of teaching beginners or whomever a sh*t technique? Teach them right, and maybe they won't be stuck swinging toddler toys forever.
Look at Pavel Tsatsouline's body, compared to the common RUclips fitness body now days. Steroids much? I'll admit that maybe some of these guys are just big. But it annoys me. I been a Personal Trainer my whole life. I know what is possible, and what is not. You can see that they either can't afford enough gear, or are deliberately trying to hang just above what is normal. But you can't hide steroid use.
Michael Clark that’s the difference between a physique developed primarily by conditioning through kettlebells and one focused on strength and hypertrophic. It didn’t take me long with mostly squats, bench, pull-ups and dumbbell rows to look far more muscular than Pavel. I can’t move anywhere near as much weight in kettlebell movements as he does seemingly effortlessly in his videos.

10 minutes of Kettlebell snatches top of the minute is a fantastic, no excuses, exercise program.
4:50-4:52 Looked like a magic trick..
My goodness cameraman! Get the entire swing on the screen! 🤦🏼♂️

all good coaches do. :)

Bro. Helped so much man thank you guys! Just got my first set of kettlebells so I am just getting my technique down
I've been a big time gym goer all my life until I brought a 70lb kettlebell. I really can work every body part as I would if I had a gym membership. This really is a gem of power training
Definitely the best tutorial

Oh boy. Been having that problem and haven't found the solution, but after reading this comment can't wait to get out of work and try it out!!!
Stick to halves. Dont wreck your shoulders
saw hundereds of kb coaches, Mike is among the best definitely. perfect tutorial
Well done! One of the few GOOD explanations of proper kettlebell form on RUclips.
Wow! Thanks guys. Been doing these all wrong for so long. Always hurt my wrists and palms.
I have been taught when dropping the bell to twist my hips inwards to reduce stress on the shoulder.
you guys transformed my swing - incredible!
The best explanation I've come across. Thanks guys!

Fkn cameraman missed the kettle bell
Wow! that was Perfect.definitely learned a lot. Thank you
Love the drop explination! Thank you
He said, helped out my snatch! Hey, hey!
Explanation: 10/10. Camera work: 0/10 :D It would be helpful if you could include a slow motion record in the video.
Show motion is the best of teaching bells yet no one's using it for some reason. I learned that by watching a kettlebell commercial watch was in slow motion.
Awesome! Thank you MIKE, finally learned the correct technique for kettlebell snatch. Aloha from Hawaii🤙🏽
Aloha!
Awesome video. I've been working on heavier snatches recently and a big problem was my grip and ripping apart the palms of my hands so this information will really help.
i wear weightlifting gloves.... a simple solution to a simple problem
Great explanation , 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Really great videos guys. Thank you for doing this. I’ve learned a lot.
Great stuff. Real problems with wrist and arm pain with KB overhead
Great description, many thanks
Really good video! Thanks!
Maybe I’m just super immature but when I see “the perfect snatch” and all the other “snatch” related statements I crack up
I was really interested in the hand movement at the top of the swing. The video cut some of that out. 😣
@Daniel Balter that has absolutley nothing to do with it? The cameraman should have backed up, that was the problem
@@jesperbengtsson3793
Either way it's cut out from the video......???🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
That's what they're saying lol. Obviously it's the cameraperson's fault.

I just learned the hard way why it's bad to cast it forward with a straight arm, and with too heavy a kettlebell. Hopefully I learned my lesson.
Best explanation for a kettlebell snatch on youtube ! Especially the drop ! Btw where can I get that awesome kettlebell shirt ? :)
The best snatch explanation is in Russian by Ivan Denisov :)

Good instructions, thx!
tanks mr. salami for showing me
"Pay attention to the drop..."
shoulda taped a brite X on one side
or stripes to make the turning clearer
Good job guys
Hi, thanks for you video, I'm trying to understand how incorporate correctly a snatch, clean and swing KETTLEBELL to my program because I really enjoy the movements, I'm trying to create a pull, push and legs program, should I put this in legs or pull? Thanks a lot
Where can I order the kettlebell MIC shirt the instructor is wearing? The Kettlebell with teeth?
So a barbell snatch there’s that knee drop and catch position - is it ok to mimic that with two kettlebells? The kettlebell and barbell snatch seem quite different
Great stuff guys, thank you :)
Thanks for watching!
Are you supposed to switch arms when doing sets? Or does it not matter
Thanks guys
4:46 magic trick
Awesome video. Hey guys if I were to search for he custom flags you have on the wall.. what would I search for?? Thanks !

Maybe the only one on the internet worth anything.
Perfect!!

To be fair, RKC and StrongFirst guys do 100 snatches in 5 minutes unbroken with the 24kg using the first technique.
Check out Joe Daniels from Swing This Kettlebell. He has a lot of good stuff for more experienced kettlebellers.
2:33 Keep it close to the body. I think about it as, Zippering up and down a jacket.
Ty
Ah yes....the "perfect" snatch. Every man's dream.....
One day...
Did you get the snatch?... Cause that's how you get the snatch.
Ey b0ss....
Can eye habe da snatchy plz?
Has anyone else heard of this new technique, the bald snatch?
This is a definite great video... Love the tips in this one for sure #mindpumpmafia #mindpumphead
Thank you Eddie!
Where can I get the metalhead tshirt
We love this video because it says the real truth about life and working out 👌 #monkeybargym
everyone say to me thumb inside to st art of swing and u put the thumbs outside...?
Very good and instructional about kettlebells snatch however a real kettlebell instead of an air one would be fantastic 😂
How Heavy is that
Come talk to me. You rock bruh.
Sooo where’s the actual snatch demonstrated?
А-ха-ха-ха, ну, удачи им!))
Только когда придут люди с вылетевшими плечами (с такой-то "perfect" техникой), пусть особо не расстраиваются😅
Uh, the cameraman cut out half of the movements. 😳
seems like a lot of really good ways to break yourself. no thanks. what is the point?
U guys are too handsome I didn’t hear a word of that
💪💪💪💪
i got a fever..... and the only prescription is more kettlebell
He said perfect snatch
I'm sick of those idiots stooping high school giving advice on natural things
THESE GUYS GOT TO SMILE MORE OR SOMETHING TOO SERIOUS
8 minutes of talk… come on, just bring it to a quick explication
Metalhead. Meathead. Yes. This is US.
This is the Tsatsouline style that is being taught in the US. As far as the Girevoy Sport is concerned, this technique is far from being perfect.
Oh good god.... blah blah bkah
This cameraman is not good at his job.
camera work 👎🏽🤦🏽♂️
Bad camera work
God these guys over explain everything.
this isnt the snatch... this pendulum bs doesnt do shit for power development
Really lousy cameraman!!
Fn clickbait
Shity cameraman
