    ok there is four things that makes this video of the turok better than other ones i saw:
    -This one is using the n64 soundtrack
    -Is fast
    -Is 100% so i suppose that he is going to obtain all the secret areas, talismans and nuke portals and that portals are my favourite ones
    -Is in hardcore mode
    So in conclusion this is going to be a great gameplay of this game

    What an absolutely badass game. I forgot just how massive these levels were. And the music is just beyond epic.
    This was the golden era of gaming for me: late 90’s to early 2000’s.
    Thanks for the video…you got insane skills!

    Evil Games, thank you for playing this beautiful remaster of a legendary game that revolutionized the shooter/action genre. It's so amazing seeing someone who is just as passionate of great video games, play, let alone, dominate these very challenging, unique games.

    I just started playing the remaster, and I am totally loving it. You look at some complaints about this game, like the level design, and the n64 control layout, but that is just more or less a testament to how tough 80/90's gamers were. The actual game play itself still holds up, but omg, how I managed to finished this game as a kid, with not internet guides, is beyond me. I didn't realize how to tough this game actually is until now.

      Which version do you play? In case you play the original release (N64, initial PC release) then use this video of mine and skip to around 7:20

      There is none in the first level. There is a portal to a room where you'd expect a feather, but that one is just empty, with just a cutscene explaining things.

    Is there a speedrunning reason you don't use a wider field of view or just personal preference?

    • @GhostlyDark
      @GhostlyDark  7 лет назад +3

      Personal preference. I am so used to FOV: 45, that anything above, at least for Turok 1 and 2, just creeps me out.

    do you think that Remaster is batter then the old Turok 2?

    • @GhostlyDark
      @GhostlyDark  7 лет назад +3

      The remaster is 60 FPS, 16:9, enhanced graphics, quick and fast warp - so that's all good. Unfortunately, it has performance issues on AMD graphics cards which sucks. It also changes damage and health values, changed the level design here and there and obviously killed some very useful speedrunning glitches. I can't say which one is better. All I can say is that I am rather disappointed by Night Dive Studios. It's cool that they made the remasters, but it could have been better (or worse...). Why did they mess up the difficutly settings in Turok 1 Remaster? Why no testing on AMD cards? WTF? The remastered versions definitely play very different compared to the original ones.

    • @gamerscape9183
      @gamerscape9183 7 лет назад

      While the speedrunning part is true, Nightdive made that up by adding new speedrunning methods, such as the new wrap that allow you to skip levels without finishing the objectives if you're looking for a "Any%" Run. Plus the new Ledge grabbing mechanic can help reach places you normally couldn't in the original.

      The thing I like most with the remaster is the hit detection and damage ratios of the weapons.
      They were very broken on the N64 but the remaster fixs all that.

    Not gonna lie, saving those kids really put me off the game as a kid.
    Sometimes the 4th kid wouldn't properly unlock for me and it was game over back to the start. Felt like I'd got a demo of the game for a while.

    The viewer is going to watch something like this if they can see what's going on. If you run sideways you may as well play black screen. A waste of time.

    Cant you just do a normal gameplay without the annoying side walking? Or is this a speedrun?
