Just did this today on my 2019 TRD Off-road, there's really no easy way to do it when removing the lights. I had a hell of a time getting my medium sized hands in there. However, the drivers side light turns down towards you, and the passenger side light turns up away from you. When putting them back in, also make sure you push them in all the way before trying to twist them in. Could have saved a LOT of time, and a lot of hard work knowing this before hand.
I saw some other video trying to take que plastic cap off I could not do it!!!. Then you came along hahah ... My M/L hands did have a bit of a problem but literaly took me 5 minutes doing the swap THANKS! Changed them out a 2019 TRD Offroad Tacoma.

After that except for replacing the brake, turn signal, and backup lights I’ll have LED’s throughout my truck. I have the hardest time getting my hand in there and now the LED bulb is stuck inside light housing. Now I’m really screwed because that housing is a bitch to squeeze tabs to push housing out. Dam Toyota for making these so hard to get to. Just like the way the third brake light is set up. Starting to find these simple Mods a real pain in the arse.
That was a fucking pain. But i did it lol. If anybody is having trouble locking it back in instead of laying straight under the truck lay sideways under it if that makes sense and lock it back in. Helped me out
So... for everyone that’s having a hard time getting their massive hands in to turn the light. I just installed these on my tacoma, and I also have HUGE hands. If you put one hand under and use one index finger, you can reach with your other hand over the top of the frame and reach down, using your other index finger on the opposite side. Easy peasy, turns like a charm.
So I did end up doing my entire interior LED as well as the license plate bulbs last week. I find that the license plate ones are a bit too bright for the backup camera at night. I don't entirely rely on my backup camera, but I do use it as a second security measure when backing out of parking spaces or parallel parking at night. I was thinking about switching them back to the other lights. . . Any ideas?
Mind you, i tried to switch the bulbs out and couldn't even turn the piece counter clock wise, i would love to switch them, but pain in the butt. no luck.

For all the people trying to do this, do not do it this way in the video. To replace these bulbs you don’t even have to get on the ground. You stick your hand up in there and you push the light out towards the license plate, then the whole housing pops out. I’ll post a video on my channel. This is definitely the hard way though. My hands can’t even fit in there.
There is a video a watched using the same technique, push it towards the license plate while the other hand is using a plastic prying tool to easily pop out the light housing. Once you replace the bulb just simply push back the light housing.

I install the same bulbs on my taco and they work great ...no flickering
Same at first one didnt turn on i took it out and reversed it and then worked great

They are from Auto Zone, I'm in Colorado

Any tool that will work with this? I got one of them, but can not do the other. My hands are fried.
I did this and have some flickering from one of the bulbs...pretty sure it's bad contact. Do you have this issue?
JackTed what brand did you go with? I haven't had any flickering at all
I use Marsauto from Amazon and no flicker. Dealing with bulbs better to wear gloves.
