Lithuania is NOT Russia without Putin. Lithuania is Lithuania. We are a Baltic culture, a people with our own unique language and history. Unfortunately, we were also illegally occupied by Russians and the USSR, and forced to learn russian language in schools. The problem with russians, even the "good ones" is that they operate from a very imperialist mindset. I hope this woman can learn to respect Lithuania for Lithuania and ensure her kids assimilate and learn the language. We are not and will never become "another Russia" by any means.
If I interpret her words correctly, I think she means that Lithuania is what Russia COULD have been, rather than simply Lithuania is a copy and paste of Russia minus Putin. I share your thoughts though, that hopefully all those who take refuge in Lithuania respect the country and are prepared to integrate, learn the language, and embrace the culture.

Lithuania could keep Navalnists safer than they are now if only they agreed to cooperate with the Lithuanian police more closely. To be honest, I was shocked to hear that they don't seem to want proper protection. Lithuania needs to have a 2nd amendment like law where law abiding people can arm themselves.
In Lithuania you can own a gun for self defence, but you must go through strict gun control. That is what makes Lithuania a safer place to be.
