I’ve bought and sold the Morning Glory 3-4 times now and every time I regret it, and end up just buying one again, and recently have again, for the last time I hope lol! It’s just that good, and really useful. It’s even one of Josh Scott’s ‘only choose 3 pedals for the rest of your life’ choices, and he has hundreds of pedals to choose from, so that tells you right there. They are a great pedal.
The JHS MG has also been great for filling in the mids on mid lacking amps for me - making it much easier to hear myself live. I also love the subtle compression it adds on an otherwise spiky clean sound.
Great video! Really appreciated hearing what it can do at higher gain - sounds great!! Thinking of buying one to put in between my Boss SD-1 and JHS Packrat.
Great job!!!! I just picked up a MG myself after buying an AT+ (which I love) - but for the same reasons.. I have spent the last two days trying to figure out how to use / tones of the MG - and this was a huge help!!! I also have a tube screamer mini and a compression with it - so this was really helpful! Keep up the great content!
Interesting video - definitely a different approach which was really useful. The unsung hero on my board is the Spark Booster but I’m considering a MG or other low gain drive too.
I also love my tc spark! Always on for my cleans, and works really well with my Xotic BB, both pedals on produce a very wide range of light crunch/ low to mid gain dirt sounds 🎸
Honestly the MG with the remote switch is enough for most rock guitar contexts if you push up the pedals gain and use the guitars volume knob to clean it up. I have stacked just about every OD combo you can think of, and the MG with the switch covers everything for me. Very transparent, very dirty, plenty good.
On my bass I run a JptrFX Jive into the Morning Glory for simply the best lower to mid gain tones I’ve ever heard! No need for any other dirt pedals.
Amazing! Interesting to hear bass players use it also.

Thanks! Thought I’d get loads of hate for using it unconventionally, but people seem to dig it haha.

Glad it was helpful! The Spark Booster is an absolutely beast and is definitely an unsung hero - it has never left my board.

TC Spark is awesome! Had one since 2015 and it has never left my board.

Unsung? It’s one of the most popular ever overdrive pedals of all time
Really? It wasn’t on my radar for a very long time. Nowhere near as famous as tubescreamers or boss pedals etc in my opinion.
No way way would I change my Electro Harmonix Hot Wax duel overdrive pedal for this morning glory no way..
Cool man, it’s great that you’re happy
Apples and oranges. The EHX is great tho.
Not unsung!
