I miss these two

Bambi: "better than Miami Vice" says Gene Siskel.
Jason Beghe in Monkey Shines, about 10 years before he was in a car wreck that ended up trashing his vocal cords thus giving him his trademark gravelly voice, eventually becoming Hank Voight on Chicago Fire then Chicago PD.
I did like A Fish Called Wanda.
Odd that Siskel keeps comparing Big Top Pee Wee to the original film which he gave an extremely negative review to. Did he forget that?
Maybe hes getting that Alzheimer's.
Ebert probably saw the first one and liked it quite a bit, recommended that Siskel see it again, and then it finally clicked with Siskel on that second viewing.
But, if that's not how it went down, then you also have to remember that Siskel was a Pee-Wee Herman fan. He said he liked his appearances on the David Letterman show and also his stage show, so he was probably hoping for more of those stand-up antics, which, let's face it, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure didn't have the same edginess to its humor.
I have seen parts of Monkey Shines.
Big Top Pee Wee SUCKED. It was directed by the guy that did "Grease". Way back then: we all thought the next Pee Wee movie should have been "Pee Wee in a Haunted House".
Seems like Kevin Klein kind of disappeared. 🤔
