The cap slides up and down the pen, so it looks like he is pushing the entire pen in. Then a mechanism inside the entry pushes some leves that goes to the exit via the edges and pushes out the end piece.
I know for fact 100% this id how it works the part of the cap that is skinny. Hits a button or spring i forgot which is. But when pressed the little piece that looks like the end of the pen pops out. I used to have one. Sorry for the spoil guys
The inside gray part has a platform piece with a fake pencil head on each side. Both sides are actuated by the two actual much smaller springs inside the gray box. Each platform side is connected by two long skinny lengths of rigid line in cases in that gray line that runs across each side of the toy. So all that’s is when you push the pencil in on one side, it pushes the platform in, stretching your sides springs, and out, compressing the other sides springs and revealing the fake pencil head and then the spring compression simply retracts it after you take the pencil out.
Oh I get it. The pen cap moves up and down the pen and when it pushes something in the box it makes it look like it's coming out the other side but the pen never actually goes in the box. The cap is just moving back and forth. Pretty cool
The pen cap slides down the shaft of the pen and the other side houses the end of a different pen with the same design the right hand is positioned to conceal that the pen wasn’t fully inserted
I caught on to what happen the pen doesnt go all the way through theres a mechanism that is pushed to get the illusion that it is going through. Great execution tho
