I really really hope manufacturers appreciate what Pete does for their brand. We’re talking about potential millions of dollars. I’ve seen the official demos and not one created a strong urge to go buy one. Pete’s demos however literally made me buy gear. He deserves a big percentage for every unit line 6 or inMusic (Headrush) sells. Either that or make him a member of the board or something.
I just can't wrap my head around how someone can write a great song for every single gear demo he does. The fact that Pete isn't THE most in demand musician blows my mind.
@@PeteThorn I kinda want this unit now lol. I was going to go for helix. But now I'm torn. I should probably go helix because I have a variax. I know for certain I'm hitting up iTunes or something to buy some of your songs
Who else gets excited when you see a new Pete Thorn video notification on their phone? This guy can make a squire hello kitty and a crate 15 watt solid state practice amp sound amazing lol Your such an inspiration and a monster player. Rock on!
I don’t know why I bother watching Pete’s demos. I just sit in awe watching his incredible playing, of these fantastic riffs and songs he comes up with and I just want to sell all my stuff and quit. I know it should inspire me to play more and get better but it’s just so humbling. Dude is absolutely amazing.
Pete is going to make me go broke. Ever notice the "partial" songs he whips up to demo gear are usually album worthy instrumentals? I know of no one who can come up with tasty hooks, on the fly, like this guy. There are numerous folks out there doing worthy reviews and demos, but Pete can make pretty much any pedal sound purchase-worthy.
While the tones coming out of that box are cool, I think we would all love to see a ~30-minute behind-the-scenes showing you mixing the track after you've cut all the parts to see how much they need to be EQ'd/edited/etc to get to what we hear in the video.
Yes! I proposed the same request. It would be helpful for all of us that don't have that part of the equation figured out. His mixes always sound large, full and professional.
Pete the tones you get from these things are amazing you have a very good ear. I have to admit. a few months ago I was in the market to buy a Friedman Dirty Shirley but after hearing your review on the helix I decided to go with the helix. I love it. I don't think I've ever buy another tube amplifier in my life.
Got this product ordered (Headrush) ... With being a Tube amp guy only... And sitting on the fence of new technology.. This video changed my mind.. Great video Pete! ... 😎
Great demo! I bought the pedalboard based on your and Ola’s reviews. Really sold me on it. I hate having to use a computer to create patches. You always do a great job showing the full range of what a piece of gear can do.
Fantastic video Pete awesome playing with well explained breakdown of each part. I am a helix user, and the concept seems very similar and the language make sense now I been building my patches for 9 months and gibing with them for 6. It's takes awhile to get your head around the structure of these tools, but thankfully people like you on RUclips have made it all achievable. I really appreciate the time you put into getting this all together for us. Cheers from the land downunder. Mike
Interesting to see how the Eleven form factor and tech has progressed. I had an Eleven Rack for some time. My take on it after programming, using and heavily tweaking tones for months was that the cleans were great and the high gain tones could be good. For me, two things led me to sell it... the low- and mid-crunch were never quite to my liking and it was big and heavy, considering I also had to bring a MIDI pedal. This form factor seems much more practical for the gigging musician and - maybe it's just me - but I'd swear the sound is improved over the 11R. Good demo as always, Pete. P.S. Oh... I just noticed you were using IRs for some of the sounds... that can make a world of difference.
Pete. Checking out some of your older vids. I'm looking for a good modler to record with and jam direct at small gigs.. You're playing and recording knowledge is just stellar sir. Very cool. Really appreciate all the work you do and value you bring us. That song in the intro is killer... Thanks again sir..
Have to say Pete, that intro song has to be the best to date in my opinion! Loving the heavier riffs and killer leads you're coming up with recently! Fkn amazing tunes Pete, seriously. Love it.
I should replace my Avid Eleven rack unit with one of these for "direct recording" in my home studio. I love the user friendliness, as I lack patience these days to spend a lot of time looking for the guitar sounds I need.
I agree whole-heartily with HankCScorpio! I've purchased the Mooer Radar, Colour Box and Nux Cereberus as a direct result of Pete's demos. And what a great rock song for this demo Pete!
I agree, and honestly, it's the reason I chose it over a helix for my direct rig. There must be something intuitive about this unit that allows for a more creative session.
I want to know the settings for that great clean intro! Holy cow! I've always wanted that kind of clean yes reverb and delay and who knows what else but it sounds insane! I love it!
This is great! I'm always impressed at how you build your songs. It would be fantastic if someday you would show us how you build your drum tracks as well. Something along the lines of, "do you play with a metronome when you are in the demo process, and then build upon that as you start to create your song?" Or maybe you could demonstrate the way you build your foundation from scratch; how the "idea phase" is brought to reality. I know you're compensated for these demos and rightfully so! My perspective is knowing that you only take the time to review instruments, effects, etc... that you would only actually use, and that you won't or don't bother with equipment that you would not use, gives me some assurance that what I'm buying is worth the investment. This review did in fact inspire me to sell my Atomic Amplifire AA3 (although I'm curious if you were ever approached by them to review that particular model), and purchase the Gigboard. I should be receiving it tomorrow and I'm very excited to add it to my desktop for use in my DAW.
Pete - it would be great to see a video of you going back to devices like this (and this video) and showing step by step how to recreate these sounds. Either that or just more Headrush videos would be cool to see! 👍🏻 (just saw the mx5 and that one was cool too!)
How does this compare to the Helix HX? As someone unfamiliar with modelers, on the surface I appreciate the headrush format better, seems more user friendly
Wow, it sounded great.. I'm wanting a modeler that also has the tube amp feel, or at least a little. I like this unit, even though I've not tried it because it's the same company that put out the eleven rack which I did try and loved. I may end up using it instead of the newer modelers, because it has that feature of impedance matching which gives you the amp feel, and I thought it really did feel like an amp. That said, this thing has a much better screen and much better UI. Thanks for doing these vids sir.
That sounds awesome. I'd like to make a guitar or bass cover but not sure how to go about it. I really don't want to have to use a DAW if I don't have to so I'm curious as to what I'd need to keep it simple. I'd use my iphone for recording.
Master in Creating Tones and OBVIOUSLY songwriting \-/ Cheers mate .......I had the Eleven Rack for 6 years and found it very useful ....I hope this will be better tone wise .
Hello Mr Thorn, Can you do a video in which you explain how to record a guitar sound from A to Z using a reactive load and a real amp, i mean sofware, interface, drum kit, etc. Thank you vert much
Awesome track! Why have I not gotten one of these yet? :) The editing on these is so ridiculously simple... opposite of my AX8. (Do I see an AX8 on th floor back there?) And of course now your bass game has just taken a major boost.
In this channel i found the best gear demos! pete you shoul try the moer micro di i recommend that pedal to every guitarist that ask me about a good and simple cab simulator and it is not expensive!
Hey Pete, great demo as usual. I'm currently looking at a fully pedal-board-based rig, and I'm getting really curious about the Mooer Preamp Live. If you get your hands on one, would you demo it? I'd be really interested in what a player like yourself (as opposed to some of the more "standard metal guy" reviewers I've been hearing - no offense to any of them) could get out of it.

@@Andrew_M_Ward which one ?
Agreed. I love all his videos but the problem is it makes me want to buy every single one....lol
@@Andrew_M_Ward I got the Friedman pedal from the video as well as the Line 6 Helix. Love both of them - I tell my wife that it's Pete's fault. :)
I was thinking along those lines, tell the truth , it is so true ,he does a demo and I just have what ever it is.
This. Just ordered one of these and Pete gets full credit for the sale.

I’m with you on that dude! He’s just absolutely mind blowing. For sure one of my very favourite guitarists!
Waiting for a band with Pete and a cool singer ! Could only be great.
First riff sounded like the "don't sue me" version of Come as You Are
😂
Hands down the most entertaining pedal demos on RUclips. Just superb.

Coolest song written for a demo!! Do something with that, great player!
Jesus Pete, what a jam! Love the sound of that danelectro.. what a cool tone
