I'm really happy to see a solo series come out for Space Age. I'm still going through my first playthrough of Space Age myself but its been a blast so far.
What a pretty map generation! And that river to the west is the real MVP xD 8:36 literally didn't know you could also use Z to drop items into machines. Already learned something despite hundreds of hours in the game!
I followed one of your last ELM series once upon a time and managed to learn a lot of key things from it that I still use to this day, glad to see one for Space Age!
@@KatherineOfSky I like multiplayer a lot more too, usually as a duo or trio, if you go down some rabit hole, you dont loose all that progression time :)
I imagine there’s a difference here between watching and playing. Playing, it’s more stuff to pay attention to the details of. Watching, it’s fewer things going on at once to try to understand. Anyway, glad to see a new series from you, Katherine! ❤
this video is really great, i struggle with the early game cause i never know how to get resources fast enough or i spend too much time hand crafting and standing there well just waiting, but i feel the tips in will really help me get faster.
Wow great start! Also did not see that you could preview the other planets. I'll have to do that for Fulgora as my first game has only tiny islands and was so frustrating to play. Hope you continue both series as I really like it, but I fully understand if you want to focus on one. It would take me a while to figure what I was doing each time I switched! Looking forward to the rest of the series, thanks!
Been loving Space Age so far! Was a bit worried that there didn't seem to be as many resources around on Nauvis as usual, but it turns out you don't need as many in (what used to be) end game and the rocket is much easier to launch. Got through vulcanus and fulgora so far, but gleba is absolutely baffling!
Awesome looking map! I did notice your settings for Vulcanus coal frequency do seem to have been adjusted (downwards, mind, to 75%) in contrast to your claim that all DLC planets have been been left untouched-- just mentioning in case that was a mistake before you make it there and find yourself missing it!
Wait, you mean I can't just watch the massive backlog this time around? This is unacceptable!!! For real though, really looking forward to this series!
@@victorgerard1584 I started a game with the map, and Visually it is a match to the one Katherine is playing in the game. If you did not see the same map, try getting it again. (If you change the ore settings, the patches will change, but if you change the water settings, it will change the map.)
How do you have the copy/paste/blueprint buttons enabled? In my 2.0 install (upgraded from 1.1), they are locked behind bot research, which is annoying. At least I now learned the keybinds for destruction planer and new blueprint...
@@cptn.penguin902 i just ended up using the map number and did some adjustments to the water to get the same map as KoS has. KoS, I'm also a bit confused about your starting bases, do the 2 different ones link up in some way to build them together or do I need to disassemble one to build the next one?
to play fast, overbuild, and always make sure youre crafting and laying buildings down. get your electric drills and smelt stacks down FAST and you will accellerate quickly.
Just out of curiosity why didn't you just turn enemies off. If they don't expand it defeats the purpose of artillery. To have to defend your base while enemies get closer. Again, just my opinion
It does not defeat my purpose, which is to show how to kill various enemies.

You really don't need to bump resource size and richness. Mining productivity research you get early, and new machines from Vulcanus and Fulgora a bit later make resources in 2.0 dramatically more abundant than they were in 1.x. If you're used to playing with higher resource size and richness, this is just completely unnecessary now. I totally agree on disabling enemy expansion, it's all just pointless busywork.
There is no reason not to bump them, so there is no reason to tell anyone they don’t need to. And you could megabase on default settings in 1.0 if you wanted to. It all comes down to preferences, and people with as much experience as KoS know what they prefer.
Very glad to see a solo play through
even after 1300 hours, I still love watching your entry level to mega base series. always learning something new and getting new ideas
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying!
Ditto, brother! I am still learning after almost 10k hours in this game... 😀 Still mostly from our Lady of Sky! 😛
The most beautiful voice and speech, the most awesome Factorio content creator, the soothing playstyle. Pure love

Love watching the entry. I swear I learn something every time. I'm still on my first play through of Space Age and loving it.
Enjoy!

Love more personal approach, plus it is less stressful in solo. thank you
Is it? I find it MUCH more stressful than playing duo
@@KatherineOfSkyProbably because you are playing duo with a person you love

Waiting patiently for the next part
What good timing for a series like this, im making my first megabase right now. i'm doing an octagonal-ish design.
Excited for another series :) I'm about to launch my rocket on my first space age save, right after I learn about nuclear power....
That map is amazing, I might even consider playing deathworld on a map like that.
New series yay!

super excited to watch along! i knew it was only a matter of time until kos blessed us with a space age series haha
Thank you Katherine! Looking forward to playing alongside you! ❤
Excited to see this become a GigaBase spread across the galaxy.
I love your factorio series!!
Thank you!
Long time watcher, but I don't comment too often. I want to say I've really enjoyed your Space Age content!
Thank you!
Great content as always. Looking forward to how the starter base unfolds, I've been having fun trying to make my own with mixed results 😂

Just started my 5th playthrough of SpaceAge this morning and got a very similar map, going great so far. Just landed on Vulcanus.
Have fun!

Wanted to get the map string, but did not see it. Unless its one of the MP maps.
It is there. search for ELM 7

I hate to say it but I like starting and getting to the mid game more than I like going to the end game.
Why do you hate to say it? Its a very valid position.
Hmm was interested in watching this series, How frequently are the episodes published?
@KatherineOfSky copper smelters in the blueprint, you are missing a belt. Inserter is sitting there with copper waiting.
Love the map; can i get the string, it isnt uploaded yet. Thanks

I hope this stays solo, I'm not a fan of the multiplayer series
Same here. I might be unusual on this, but I do not enjoy multiplayer at all, especially this game.
I've got a dedicated server for my friends. They played two days and they stopped. I've been playing for a month already 😅

What happened to wandering village? Was really enjoying that series...
Keep up the good work either way, very much enjoy your videos ❤️
this video is at the end of the MP playlist.
Thanks, Ill fix.
Hello your Skyness! Like pushed :D
Looking forward to following this series, can't find the map on your Google Drive though.

Comment for the algorithm.
Is this a reboot for just single player? I liked the banter between KoS and Matias
Yes, this is a solo series. The MP series is continuing.

Ill check the sound levels again

So crashing the ship is insurance fraud at this point? 😂
Its always an accident, so no fraud. Also, Ive never had a claim pay out...
