Very good video that explains all the aspects. I was thinking of buying the Duet and use an external display, but that is not an option if it doesn't support 1080p at 60 hz. You saved me a big disappointment. Merci!
@@amsatt The simplicity of Chromebooks and that things just work is what attracted me to it. Don't want to have to buy unique dongles. 🙂 I'd rather buy a better 2-in-1 Chromebook.
Hi when I connect my Duet 3 Chromebook to my laptop nothing happens. It doesn't show up on my laptop and nothing shows up on my lenovo under display. I only see Orientation, display size and night light. I don't get a notification either. I used the usb that came with this as well as one from my galaxy phone. Please help
I used a ugreen USB-C hub with HDMI out, Dell P2317H monitor, but did not have 1080p 24hz option, can only do HD@60hz. Not sure whether it was the monitor or the USB-C hub?
I have a dongle free bluetooth mouse to use with Chromebook. If I connect my Chromebook with external display while mouse is also connected does it show that small button on button right after closing the Chromebook?
Hey, thnks for the video. Do you think some of the highlighted issues will be resolved with the Neely announced duet 5? Any way if knowing from its specs?
Would this also be a solution if the screen of the Chromebook Duet is broken? Mine has a crack and the interface is not working well. It would be great if I can still use the machine but use an external monitor.
question please: in my Duet the "CAST" icon in the clock menu doesn't appear since the first power on few months ago Do you have any idea why? Any suggestions please? thanks
This might sound stupid but I want to be sure: Do you have any Chromecast enabled device such as Google Chromecast? The icon will only be shown when it detects the Chromecast devices.
@@amsatt thanks for your kind reply. I haven't chromecast device but I tried to connect to android smart tv w/o success. Does It works only with chromecast devices? My smartphone works fine with my smart tv, cast i mean, but not the Duet.
most probably your phone (which is not Pixel) uses different technology than Chromecast. Google allows only to mirror your screen using Chromecast devices, this is valid for Chromebooks as well as Pixel phones. Only TVs with built-in Chromecast technology can work with the Chromebooks. www.google.com/chromecast/built-in/tv/
Hey, Do you know if is it possible to use a spare windows laptop as a secondary monitor for the duet chromebook? I've seen lots of content on how to use the chromebook as a secondary monitor for windows but not the other way around. Many thanks
good question. I also know about the Duet Display (duetdisplay.com/) where you can extend the Windows or Mac screen to the chromebooks. I will have a look

I heard that a special brand of DisplayLink can provide a 60Hz output. But I couldn't get my hands on it as it is sold out.

@@Powermass me too. So just wait, the chromebook tablets will get better :)
Could you send a link to the wallpapers you use on the duet, I saw some in your videos and they look super cool!
These are official Chrome OS wallpapers. I found some here for you: www.googlewatchblog.de/2020/09/google-chrome-os-wallpaper/
hi! when I connect my Chromebook to laptop by cable, the display section on Chromebook setting doesn't show up the same as yours
that will not work. You need an external monitor for this.

If you have a TV try it there. It can also be the HDMI cable

not sure, I have to try it when it is announced.
Can you only display on the tv? Can you shut the Lenovo shut and still see it on your monitor?
you can close the keyboard cover and it will still work
Does it support external touchscreen?
dont know! let me know if you got any answer for that.
does the chromebook work as a second monitor for a pc with something like spashtop xd
?

in 30 fps works without delay
