Hey everyone! We're Eric Lagerstrom and Paula Findlay. We're both professional triathletes; we train for and race triathlon for a living.

This week we finished up camping in Southern Oregon on the Metolius River with Heather Jackson and Wattie, logged an epic run workout on gravel roads, and headed back home to Troutdale for some more structured training. I'm borrowing the gopro 360 Max camera from Wattie since my insta360 broke, and I thought I'd take a crack at a bike sequence filmed entirely with the camera. I don't recommend it if you aren't into lots of editing time, but there are some good shots in there from our ride.

Eric, the gopro 360 footage was awesome! Totally get it's not practical to use for every ride though based on the amount of set-up and editing. Hey, the footage from 0:19 (to 29) it looks like the camera is actually to the right of you and the bike - is that from a swivel mount feature or just 360 trickery? Guessing it actually was positioned there from the sound of the branches hit! 😀

yeah, GoPro 360 is a very complex and time consuming process. Agreed on that! Nice work thought, I love Bend and I'm watching all your videos due to a back injuty that putted me on the resting/recovery mode............I'm so tempt go move back. Novice to the 360 world. I got the Insta360 oneR and I’m able to edit everything on my phone through their app in hardly anytime! Love 360 shots. I clicked on this vid because I wanted to see the footage w the GoPro 360.

Oh man, that sequence with the jam starting at 10:09 was my favorite, especially that zoom-out + pan and the music at 10:23. That mini story of getting dropped and then having to buckle down to catch up, together with the song and your editing, was such a great combo. Gave me a little thrill of "getting down to business." I love that feeling when trail running.

Eric and Paula!! I’m sure everyone would agree, you guys must must be thee Tri-couple (sounds a bit wierd) - your approaching cult following !! Massive high quality vids and inspiration to us all !! I’ve just bought the camper van and I’m 55 - bit desperate really , but your that good ! Eric, the 360deg is a nice touch occasionally , but not necessary every week.

Well, we already had a good campervan before ever watching these videos. I am 58 and been a triathlete for 30 years. Also although I love coffee in the morning. I had to seriously up my coffee game, after watching all these episodes. I also have a fab That Triathlon Life cappuccino cup to boot also now!

Paula Findlay You may be teasing me here, but I’ll indulge. 3:30/KM, 17.1kph, 10.6mph, 5:38 min/mile. Min/Km is tricky math for us Yankees. Just wanted to see the min/mile pace. Thanks again :)

Can someone enlighten me on why folks queue up these videos that aren't live, but seem to already be edited and such? I don't have an issue with them and they always get watched, but I just don't get the point other than having me click twice. Is it to make it into more of an event? I'm in Asia so perhaps it's a time zone thing were nobody sees the videos in their queue until the morning. Thank you.
Basically, it means that there's a live chat during the length of the "premier". Paula and I are actually online, interacting with viewers, answering questions, sometimes we'll give a link to something.. stuff like that. We tried it a few months back and everybody seemed to like it, so we've just kept doing it

Does having to film a lot takes away from your actual training? Another great video, thanks!
We just pick a few sessions a week where we focus on the filming.. usually not the key sessions. The GoPro made it easier to do both things though.

Hi Paula and Eric, hey I was wondering if the shirt that Paula was wearing in the interview with Heather with the VW bus and the bike on top is one of your shirts for sale. If not can you let me know where she got it from. I have a VW bus and I tried to get as many VW bus shirts I can find which are difficult. And this one has a bike on it that's the first one I've seen with a bike on it thanks

Can you get into more details on how your training week looks like?
We’re not super into going deep into training on the channel, but in a nutshell, we do 2 hard swims, 2 hard runs and 2 hard bikes each week. Everything else aerobic ~25hr per week. When pools are open and all that
