Is the defensive course live only or does it consist of videos that you can follow without having to be live?
That's the Muay Thai Golden Kick in the golden generation.
I am from Bangkok, Thailand. You can see that Superlek and Tawanchai kick and retract fast. My favourite fighters of all time are Muay Femur (technician)
Samart and Karuhat retracted fast and kicked with little telegraph.
Power is generated by pushing off the ground using the hip.
Hope you have a great day Gabriel!
1) Use the ground as momentum for the kick. Push off the ground and thrust your hip forward to give a boost in speed. I don't know if you push off your front or back foot though...
2) Use angles. Not straight or rounded. From what it looks like he does it diagonally at 45 degrees. Square your hips up when you rechamber to setup for more kicks.
3) For the front foot. Pivot EARLIER than when your back foot drops back to the ground.
1 It's the back foot
Thank you so much for how in depth you go with the technique breakdown.
Training to start fighting in my 30’s, gotta be smarter cause I’m not gonna be faster 😂
Very good tips. To add to number one, this is why we teach bouncing in TKD. We spring off the bounce before sending the kick.
I have a TKD background and we were taught to make the path as straight as possible. Still chambering and all that snappy stuff, but definitely not taking the wide angle. I do MMA now and this helped me get kicks out faster than other beginners at the time, I just had to learn to kick with the shin and follow through.
Hi Sensei,
I am a big fan. I been teaching this push off of the back foot, adding hips and quick pivot for years - glad to see one of the greats sharing the same technique!
You are a gold mine of information, so glad you really enjoy sharing you knowledge with us. Thank you 🙏
the arm swing emphasis tip helps me massively. thanks alot.
Thanks so much Gabriel for this tips!! Blesses and greetings from Argentina!
Just what I’m trying to improve! Thank you!
Wow, this video has helped me so much Gabriel the only tip I did not utilize before was to go less rounded of a Karate / Taekwondo style kick, overall such an amazing video and I cannot wait for you course to drop on the 25th of March I will be sure to tune it! 🎉
Wow, this is what I call finetuning. Gabe your channel is gold🏆 I think I will join your defense course🥊
Thank you Gabriel.
Thank you coach for the tips, my kicks feel way better now
my roundhouse kicks are augmented
Love your content, it's been helping me a lot as a beginner. When you were comparing the two kicks and explaining the difference in frames it would have been nice to have them side-by-side. Or to actually do a frame by frame breakdown of the technique.
Regardless excellent classic style teaching
All very good points!
Goated Content you have given me a lot of information thanks coach
Keep the videos coming !
as always great tip! also when retracting the kick like you discribed, it is possible to perform a block with the same leg you just kicked with
on-point content as always
Thanks this really help me
excellent video
I started kicking more around early in my training after catching elbows and knees w my toes, 😂 excellent video an angle coming up and back is much more time efficient
Congrats on the Defence Course! Would love to join but gonna have to be a late bird. 👍
No worries!
We have a month until we start so you have time.
Look forward to seeing you there
Mind-blowing
I started in a new muay thai gym last week, cant say much about it yet but after 2 times in the gym we have yet to do defence, but the trainer does keep reminding us about defence when sparring and shadow boxing, I have the same thought as you Gabriel 50% offence 50% defence, most of my training at home is defence and I have a friend who is a boxer (quite new tho) that I train with about every other week and we do a lot of defence training, does not help me blocking kicks much but at least I can protect My head :)
Gabe how do you feel about the Golden roundhouse? Up then pivoting at the end
THIS CHANNEL IS GREAT
🙏🙏🙏
I injured my hip labrum and now can't even throw this kick. What would you suggest to get back to this kick from scratch ?
Nice!
How about throwing the teep on an angle , i turn it almost to a side kick at the end to avoid ir being caught
On the planted leg, try reverse pivoting just before the kick lands and share if you notice a difference.
that probably would make your round kick land a significantly reduced force. If your goal is damage you wouldn't want to start rotating in the opposite direction before the kick lands. I also am imagining my knee blowing out fighting this sudden reverse torque
Hey gabe, I would love to hear your thoughts about how you change your training when you get injured or if your body gets too stressed, do you just lean back on training or do you switch your focus to something else? Thanks for the awesome content as always
I do both depending on the situation. If I just need rest I take it.
But often I find changing up the workout to something like swimming or a bike ride is enough of a rest.
@@GabrielVargaOfficialthank you
Brilliant…….
What are your thoughts on delayed chambering in kicks for power
Yo Gabe, have you ever injured the top of your foot from kicking?
I do all this naturally cause it feels more powerful and faster yet i catch flak for kicking like that
I was literally thinking about how I could improve my kicking speed this morning😅
I will be buying the defence course but will it be a live or videos ?
It's both live and pre-recorded videos.
After watching a number of videos I will have a live to answer questions you may have.
Frame data!? 👺 Talking 60fps can you do a 6 frame jab?
Hey Gabe, I just received the defense course link. Quick question: Do I need a partner to use most of the exercises on the program, or can I solo it?
You can solo it.
And then add drills and what you learnt to training with partners.
Really it works for both scenarios. Partner or no partner.
@GabrielVargaOfficial ok, great, thanks for the quick response
Hey man, bought the course! Can't wait🦵🏻💪🏻
Thanks so much 🙏
I'm looking forward to diving deep into defense with everyone who joins.
Hey gabe, my channel name changed but long time viewer, just wanted to let you know I am 100 percent sure that Dalle-3 was trained on images of your round house kick, I know this because I use your images to untrain it, it doesn't do well if I use other people, seems to understand your form better then others. The images are super clean with perfect form because well its you.... so maybe thats it.... but it really looks like your techniques. I will continue to train AI on martial arts because I plan on making the most in depth MMA videos ever made on specific fighters and advanced combat sports scenarios. Love you brotha.
Every Mortal Kombat player knows the importance of 5 frames 😂😂
What would be better for self deffence? Muay thai and judo or MMA ?
Mma is muay thai rules + grappling + jiu jitsu. So its the most complete modality between your options.
Second comment, buy this mans system! I assure you itll be worth it if your considering getting into martial arts. I started my martial arts journey with fight tips yt channel, they are great but they are not 6x world champs, this is huge.
Question, I thought kicks that come more angular are muay thai kicks, and those that are more linear, that come up in a straight line are more karate, taekwondo? That's how I always understood them. Cause when I watch muay thai the kicks are always coming from the side, theres always a curve or a loop to them, like how cro cop does it.
I don't know much about karate, but tkd does both. At least wtf tkd does. The more linear, 45 degree angle for the point scoring and the flatter angle for damage. Neither come out as wide as what Gabe demonstrated though
I've been kickboxing for about 6-8 months, and my coach hates people using rear leg instead of lead leg for roundhouse
??? That's odd.
I prefer the lead lead as well but would never say don't use the back one
My coach likes me to kick with my hands
You do point style kb not k1
Definitely not Muay Thai. Is he having you use switch-kicks or pendulum steps to set up those lead leg kicks?
