Stephen A was very suspiciously anti-Lin for that entire season. I found it odd personally, given how well Lin played. Didn't even have nice things to say the day after he dropped 30+ and guarded Kobe in a win. He was definitely biased against Lin, however whether or not it was based on race or simply his excessive allegiance to Melo is not clear. Either way, he was wrong (as he often is).
Yep...definitely a hidden bias against Lin. No reason for Stephen to demean and play down Lin's abilities. Also the Linsanity story will be remembered forever. Even those people that didn't care for basketball started paying attention. This time was incredible.
@@shawtyjerk he never fell off, he was put on losing teams with bigger egos that didn’t allow him to play to his full potential, plus injuries later in his career
Fact is Jeremy has not been given the same chance to run the offense as he did with the Knicks, has only played without given the chance to run the offense. He can figure out when the defense adjusts and gets everybody involved in the offense. Shoot he even had Tyson Chandler playing like a power offensive center with all those ally oops he got from Lin. Case in point he made Landry Fields, Shumpert, Jeffries, and even Steve Novak playing career seasons, when Lin is allowed to run the offense thats a fact everyone over achieves when Carmelo runs the offense and hogs the ball everyone else just stands around. Most descriminated basketball player in NBA history.
stephen a smith is insane by saying this 3:15... d'rose is a point guard, westbrook is a point guard... in todays NBA, positions are just for formality.. a center can distribute the ball and point guards can back down defenders at the post... I'm sick of this kind of mentality... J Lin is a basketball player..
I disagree 100% with you. Positions are not just for formality. I can't believe you actually said that. A C can distribute the ball, but not in the same way or with the same impact as a PG. A PG will touch the ball on almost every play & runs the Offense which puts him in a better position to distribute the ball. A C can distribute the ball but it is not a requirement for that position. The same could be said for a PG having a good post up game. Each position has their own role. A skilled player might be able to bring more to the table then what their position calls for, but it's not their main assignment or focus.
MrBdobb I agree with u.. I did I agree and disagree... the other guy is speaking from the standpoint of today's arcade, NBA Jam style of play.. league where u can't touch a shooter what so ever, or even be aggressive on offense without getting an offensive foul or charge.. a league where someone with Dwight Howard's body and arms, and no Post moves.. a league where Durant is 6'9", 200 lbs.. lol.. he would've had to put on about 15-20 pounds messing with forwards like Wilkins, Rodman, Webber, B. Wallace, and others... so I can see why he say that
Lewis Jones Yeah but Dwight is still a great shot blocker & rebounder which is apart of a C role. And sense moving to Houston he's been developing his post game with Hakeem. As for Durant, he may be listed as 6'9 (Closer to 6'11) but he plays the SF while Ibaka & Adams play the PF & C position. Durant is around 6'10 but he still possess enough speed & quickness to play the perimeter. The NBA has become more offense oriented ever sense hand checking became illegal after the 04-05 season. That's why it so easy for player to blow by their defenders. It just depend on what the teams Coach is looking for. Does he want a tougher C with inside post moves, who can also block shots, & get rebounds. Or a more finesse C that has a nice jump shot & is deadly behind the arc? Does he want a PG like Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook.? Some rare players are versatile enough to play multiple roles at a high level, but not all them can manage that.
Unbreakable Spirit that's not true at all. He would be the guy who road the bench and then destroyed the game when nobody expected it. It does add a little more attention than normal because basketball is mainly black then white men. Like a few Asian players ever in the NBA so it makes sense that he gets attention
mmafan2223 he killed it in Harvard and became a college basketball champion, his success is indicative of our societies major fuck up from childhood to adulthood to statistically Imagine all of the amazing potential basketball players who never got a shot because of their race, such as not being tall or black enough to make it on a team, let alone get an opportunity. People say America is the land of opportunity, not quite. Lin had been cut twice and was thrown out of the NBA and brought back when scouts saw him utterly destroying mid tier basketball leagues as a backup for a backup, he’s been excellent and they swept him under the rug. And after he showed his potential in celebratory fashion, they blackballed him away from potential greatness. No other team in the NBA had the synergy and power as Lin’s New York Knicks, and we don’t know if he would have or wouldn’t have won us a championship that year. And it’s broadcasting like Stephen A Smith to use his soap box to race bait nearly every chance he gets, an Asian franchise champion will not help him with than vendetta of his.
Lin won a ring this year... us, the knicks meanwhile only won 17 games. Say what you want about him being just a bench player on the raps but no knick fan should ever slander Lin about his career like what stephen a did. We have no right. God, stephen a. is a disgrace to us knicks fans. "Black man only sees racial crimes on black" smh
Tomiwa Sofela who knows dude, who knows? He could have developed into a Kyle Lowry type player, not super athletic like westbrook or flashy like curry but he could have been a great role player. In fact, if Kyle Lowry had been thrown around the NBA like Lin, they'd most likely have turned out the same. But the Raps stuck with him and look at Lowry now, imagine if he had been traded like what many fans were calling for? Y'all talking like people are static and can never learn or improve.
Tomiwa Sofela He didn’t really have a good team after NYK. Rockets had Harden and Dwight, Lakers had Kobe (who, let’s be honest, was a huge ballhog), the Hornets weren’t that good, neither were the Nets when he was there, and he was overshadowed in Toronto by Kawhi, Siakam, and Lowry. It’s not his fault he didn’t have a good supporting team.
Idk why Stephen A Smith is mad abt Lin leaving. 1. Linsanity is the only time in which the Knicks have played decent basketball. And thats what the Knicks get for letting him go. No wonder why they’re doing doing so bad. Smh 🤦♂️
stephen a smith is deep down not taking him seriously because of his ethnicity. Its hard for him to see the first ever asian american in the league produce in an african american league
+Artin Azimi Um. No. Just no. His favorite football player is Aaron Rodgers. He loves GGG as a boxer. And as far as basketball, he has nothing but respect for Bird, Nowitzki, Nash, and all of the other great white players who've produced in "an African American league". Please.
+Dino O He said Asian American... Yao Ming is from China and Jeremy Lin is from Torrance, CA. USA.. Do you see the difference? It's like me saying a Caucasian American person is English and an African American is African.
+Relyvant Wins ...Your examples are all of white people, not of Asian Americans, and since all these leagues started off all white (not sure about boxing...?) I'm fairly certain your examples don't work to refute +Artin Azimi, who is talking about another minority ethnicity.
Exactly. The Knicks are just in such a dire situation probably why he misses Lin. Lin himself is just aight. He has a few highlight games here and there but not much else imo.
Bryan James I know some idiot would say that as if we all don’t know the context of his impact. We’re talking about Jeremey Lin individually and how good he ended up being individually. Stephen A was right 🤦🏽♂️
I am a Jeremy Lin fan. Mostly because of how he was able to have a great moment of success in New York despite being unrecognized. I just really like underdog stories. I'm hoping that he can become linsanity again and stay that way for the rest of his career .
Even till today, the NBA still denies the fact that the NBA 2021 can do with JLin. JLin has an undeniable talent and exceptional skills. But unfortunately there are still people who thinks JLin was only a hype when the fact is, for what he's gone through his career, he's more capable than most PG and he deserves another chance just like any all star would.
Dude I thought I was just watching a mashup of random clips, but then I realized how awesome your edit is. Showing a clip of one of Stephen A Smith's dumbass prediction or his lies about Lin and then cutting right back to Lin dunkin or makin the 3. You had me actually cracking up lol.
When given him the opportunity he can produce and be an elite player. Suck ass Lakers ruined his career. In my opinion Kobe probably set him up to come to Los Angeles because Jeremy made him look stupid when he said he didn't know who Jeremy was. Stats don't lie, every time he's given the opportunity to start he produced.
+Ryan Benscoter i don't doubt most of the youngsters in LA work hard and there is immense talent. Still, Kobe shot about 35-40 iso shots per game. That's what undermines careers. Imagine how much better grown they all would be if they played team basketball the last 2 years.
+Yamcha, The Saviour of Earth and Time how about your on ball defense? How about disrupting the offensive player? Forcing a bad shot forcing Turnover? Damn y'all dumb ass basketball fans that don't know nothing, anybody in the league can come off their man and intercept a pass (Russell Westbrook) or come off their man and get a block (Hassan Whiteside) but getting steals and blocking shots aren't why Kawhi Leonard was voted defensive player of the year or why Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler were right behind him. WHERES THE BASKETBALL KNOWLEDGE??!
+Bev DeRosa You can't judge someone's defense by watching one play. The fact that he had to chase Rose down to block him already says a lot. Rose probably got past him multiple times that game. Lin is a great scorer but a decent defender.
+Ivan Moreno rose was abusing him all game lol. And skip Bayless and Stephen a Smith were trying to see who would win that game and the Bulls won. Lin racked up a nice stat line but rose was too much for the knicks.
Writing a comment after SAS blaming white privilege for the hiring of Steve Nash as the new Brooklyn Nets head coach. I’m a Knicks fan and Jeremy Lin was the best thing to happen to New York basketball in the 2010 to 2020 decade. One of my favorite players, top 3 of all time is Amare. I was estatic when he came to NY, but none of his time there compared to Linsanity. What he did during that run when Carmelo and amare were hurt was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. I won’t go into details but when he was given his shot to run a team, he delivered. Amazing IQ, a very humble individual, and a spiritual man. He was discriminated against. That is a fact. It started with caramelos jealousy and made it’s way around the NBA, even into the officiating. He had some injuries and some bad luck but has landed in a nice home playing in China. I want to cry every time I think about what I think his dreams were of having a great career in the NBA. This was taken away from him because he is of Taiwanese decent. Mind you he’s American but looks different from the ‘typical’ NBA player. I see many similarities between Lin and Nash. If it were Lin wanting to coach an NBA team in 10 years, I would for sure hire him if he fit the teams organizational goals w/o any experience. Nash was and is a great leader, and he should not be shamed by others like this talking head because his skin happens to be white. This type of ignorance is so sad to see from someone who is broadcasted to millions across the globe. God bless the Asians who are discriminated against, god bless the blacks who are discriminated against , God bless people who are from the Middle East who are discriminated against, god bless whites that are discriminated against. This world is turning into a world that I wouldn’t want my children to be born into. We need smart and moral people representing us in Congress and on our new outlets. It was a long jumbled rant and I appreciate any one who took the time to read this. Jeremy Lin, you being you has inspired millions of people around the world. Never forget this man and his journey and his lifestyle, and those who strive to lead similar lifestyles
He's not as good as Westbrook but just to say Lin is "aight" is stupid. He's a good point guard. He's better than just average. Stephen A Smith is a racist clown. He shits on all non black athletes
hmoobmeeka Do you understand how hard it is to have one triple double in the NBA?? Let alone average that over 3 years. Something that has NEVER been done by anyone in history. I wouldn’t say he has a low basketball IQ. He jumpshot is streaky and sometimes his competitive nature gets the best of him.

Listen, Jeremy Lin is a fearless point guard. He is also unselfish and needs the ball in his hands to make that extra pass to get the teams ball movement flowing and usually he is persistent on that, plus he can shoot and drive it in when he needs to. When you throw a player in there that needs the ball whether hes passing or scoring or whichever, then Lin's effectiveness decreases substantially. He will lead a team to victories because he understands fundamentals very well, he may not be the most athletic gifted guard but he can get it done. At this current moment, Lin>Rose
okay jeremy lin is good but saying he shoots over dirk is an acoomplishment is not accurate cuz guards have an advantage around the perimeter because big men are slower. Also dont compare russ with jeremy that man averaged a triple double for a season man....
Look I loved lin in NY and I wish he turned out to be a star, but he isn't a superstart. He can average 15-17 ppg as a shooting guard or sixth man, but he isn't an NBA superstar. He's right below the line.

4:19 Following up from Rockets 5 years later, Linsanity made another right decision, joining the team champions.
He wasn't wrong once they got the scouting report on him he completely fell off. He was an average bench player at best but he was a good story
@@shawtyjerk he never fell off, he was put on losing teams with bigger egos that didn’t allow him to play to his full potential, plus injuries later in his career
Stephen's bias is based on race. He did the same thing to Ohtani.
@@w2385-i2s exactly!
i miss linsanity in n.y.c
miss linsanity here in Queens!!!
EctoOne
bruh at least he did something big, no matter how long it lasted. That's more than most NBA players can say.
Stephen A is like a prophet, every guy he took a step turns out to be a star.
lin was a role player not a star
The only thing intresting about the Knicks was when linsanity happened. Now its a dying and boring team with bad decision making.
Keep up the good work with these compilations haha
it was a lame compilation, showed poor bball knoledge from the author of the video since they didnt picture what the caps said.
Franklin NJ he’s not the most discriminated basketball player in nba history, when black players were playing in a time were racism was at its peak
HOLDUP HOLDUP !!! .... jeremy lin... is going to inspire them.... against derrick rose.....? ...... AHUHUHUHUH!! Lmaooo i love Stephen A bruh
Classic moment
seems like he forgot the time jeremy blocked rose
and lin is still blocking rose even in 2017
Yea rose has an mvp
norah smith considering derrick rose's knees are made of paper. Even I could block his shot
What he said is a joke about how much the knicks suck that he even wants jeremy lin back...
That first laugh from Stephen A. was priceless!!!
stephen a smith is insane by saying this 3:15... d'rose is a point guard, westbrook is a point guard... in todays NBA, positions are just for formality.. a center can distribute the ball and point guards can back down defenders at the post... I'm sick of this kind of mentality... J Lin is a basketball player..
And height.
I agree and disagree
Some rare players are versatile enough to play multiple roles at a high level, but not all them can manage that.
if he was black he would like him
Vinyl Tap if he was black he wouldn’t even be famous
Unbreakable Spirit that's not true at all. He would be the guy who road the bench and then destroyed the game when nobody expected it. It does add a little more attention than normal because basketball is mainly black then white men. Like a few Asian players ever in the NBA so it makes sense that he gets attention
Unbreakable Spirit black kid went to harvard killing it in the NBA wouldn't be famous? Lol
Unbreakable Spirit Just like Yao Ming right? Plenty of black centres over 7'5 and average more than 22. Owait.....
mmafan2223 he killed it in Harvard and became a college basketball champion, his success is indicative of our societies major fuck up from childhood to adulthood to statistically Imagine all of the amazing potential basketball players who never got a shot because of their race, such as not being tall or black enough to make it on a team, let alone get an opportunity.
Atlas 14 wtf was the crime here ?? Stephen a was right in the end. Lin did fizzle out because he was honestly not that good
Tomiwa Sofela
who knows dude, who knows?
Please.
Lin was not the first or best Asian player in the nba, you dolt.
+Artin Azimi Yao Ming? And plus lin is average

+John Starks Yao Ming was really good though he just couldn't survive the injury bug.
Then that's fucked up and racist. And if it comes from blacks, then Asians don't owe them any respect.

This was such a good time!!! Just when I was losing faith in my Knicks this came up
I am a Jeremy Lin fan. Mostly because of how he was able to have a great moment of success in New York despite being unrecognized. I just really like underdog stories. I'm hoping that he can become linsanity again and stay that way for the rest of his career .
"Ho hojojoj! letmestopmmMjoojo!! HojjOJJOOJ hoooouwooowooooo" SAS. hahahahha
Jeremy just can't stay healthy.......Right now, he is a good backup pg. Sad to see injury derailing his career.
Did Jeremy Lin need an interpreter which is why SAS hates him?
Dude I thought I was just watching a mashup of random clips, but then I realized how awesome your edit is. Showing a clip of one of Stephen A Smith's dumbass prediction or his lies about Lin and then cutting right back to Lin dunkin or makin the 3. You had me actually cracking up lol.
When given him the opportunity he can produce and be an elite player. Suck ass Lakers ruined his career. In my opinion Kobe probably set him up to come to Los Angeles because Jeremy made him look stupid when he said he didn't know who Jeremy was. Stats don't lie, every time he's given the opportunity to start he produced.
what the lakers did to him surprised me. how u gonna undermine someone success who works so hard
+Ryan Benscoter i don't doubt most of the youngsters in LA work hard and there is immense talent. Still, Kobe shot about 35-40 iso shots per game. That's what undermines careers. Imagine how much better grown they all would be if they played team basketball the last 2 years.
wheres jeremy lin now???????.
the chinese in the title has me weaaaak lol for some reason lol
+- BenIsTooGreat LOL, cus it seems biased?
i miss this first take.
Stephen a was right he had his lil 30 game run😂😂
That left handed layup “over” Westbrook. Wasn’t even over him😂
This video is so biased getting steals and blocking shots doesn't make you a good defender
+Yamcha, The Saviour of Earth and Time nice name and avi lol
Exactly.

Do you understand how hard it is to have one triple double in the NBA?? Let alone average that over 3 years. Something that has NEVER been done by anyone in history. I wouldn’t say he has a low basketball IQ. He jumpshot is streaky and sometimes his competitive nature gets the best of him.
JLin doesn't suck like Westbrook.
The good things about stephen a.smith is he willing to admit if he did wrong..instead denying everything like skipp bayless..

Lin: Scores 38
SAS: hES aaaAIght
"He can score, does he want a cookie?"
"HE'S A POINT GAWWWWD"
Probs with the Knicks and first season with Houston he beasted the rest was hype
+Zach T well said, not a lot of people understand that fundamentals and game IQ > athleticism..
+Zach T god i wish j lin could join the spurs, a team that values fundamental basketball
+gamercyde well said, for example the Miami heat vs the Spurs in the finals.
do you even watch him play? his IQ is not great.
I like how Lin went to Rockets and wore #7....
okay jeremy lin is good but saying he shoots over dirk is an acoomplishment is not accurate cuz guards have an advantage around the perimeter because big men are slower. Also dont compare russ with jeremy that man averaged a triple double for a season man....

& now he’s a champion
Look I loved lin in NY and I wish he turned out to be a star, but he isn't a superstart. He can average 15-17 ppg as a shooting guard or sixth man, but he isn't an NBA superstar. He's right below the line.
Amazing
Well Stephen a was right Lin literally lasted only one year then it was over he's not that good

I really think they should've kept him and let him blossom in NY. He was headed that route of being an NBA All Star, probably not a superstar but an All Star. Because as soon as he went to the rockets I feel like he had to give up the ball and he couldnt allow his talent to show and shine. The same thing for LA when he went to go play with Kobe. But he's an NBA champion now haha so doesnt matter
Jeremy lin is and always been over hyped lol
