Hello, Congratulations on the tests. I would have to choose between a new STATOCASTER VINTERA 50 MAPLE NECK and a STATOCASTER AMERICAN ELITE MAPLE NECK ex demo (with guarantees) at the same price. Music genre: CLAPTON - GILMOUR - KNOFLER. I'll proceed to the tests anyway. Which would you choose? Thanks. I always follow you
Why did you used to get an elite style trem on the standard Fenders (strats) when they re-commenced US production in 1987 with the solid steel saddles and on today's standard strats they have reverted back to the cheaper crappier more classic version?
+Marlon Borreo Jeff Beck strat had that for many many years... I think Fender wants to stay identical to their historic models. They won't do any rush changes to please a certain style or another.
it took fender 60 years to get the truss rod right. good job for keeping up to everyone else. (i'm not a fender hater, but seriously, truss wheels are far superior to just about any other option)
I'm trying to decide between the Telecaster and Stratocaster. I already have a mexican strat and I've always wanted a tele. But, I usually play a lot of songs that work with the tone of a strat, usually like hendrix. Any advice?
on the 1st demo, the Strat, he strums sooo lightly, especially after he pushes in the S1 switch...he drives me crazy. Unless you play lullabies on your Strat. ....
Finally started competing with Musicman. They've been stuck in the mud for so long and wouldn't you know all of these usability features gets released the same year as the Musicman cutlass 6 string. No coincidence.
pretty annoying how they don't really wanna say the actual price bc it will sound expensive to actually say 'two thousand ___ dollars' out loud. just say the price instead of "twenty four" or "seventeen"
DukeStarbuckle thanks. i'm very used to salespeople listing prices like this, i just wish these companies would quit trying to fool our ears when they list their expensive ass gear haha
ya want a great tele and don't wanna pay a ton for it?..check out the squier classic vibe series. look 'em up on you tube and see what folks are saying about 'em, you might be surprised at how good they really are and only cost around $500..
Not sure about all that dough for the Edge's amp. And why is Fender making the heel cutout such a big deal?? Haven't they had certain models with that for years and years? Not sure why it took them this long to finally start putting them on more models. More reasons to go with LTD teles/strats, not to mention the cost. But I like Fenders, they do make very nice stuff. They need to check them selfs with these prices though. Seems like they're going the Gib$on route, that didn't wind up working out too well for them.
I like that blue color Nice, but not enough to pay extra for, Frender getting like Apple every year come out with the new and improved must have when nothing was wrong with the old Sell the hype just to raise the price
Eric D. No, my technique is good, I have large hands, though. Also, I think it is the instrument which should accommodate to the technique, not vice versa. Technique should be commanded by sound, not by where your switches are. And I've definitely seen other guitarists accidentally switch on a strat.
You can buy a Warmoth body modded that way, and have the added option of an outward 'slope' so that the neck heel is a bit thinner on the outside. Any neck will work, but Warmoth was the first with the compound radius. I kind of hate Strat pickups now I'm playing a Tele. Strats can be so pingy and tinny instead of having some meat and tone.
+Bob Mann - I would like a Strat that sounds more Tele in the bridge. Maybe the shitty hardware of most Strats is to blame, like the cheap bridge block and those stupid springs, but some people put metal base plates on their Strat bridge pickups to emulate a Tele tone (somewhat.) I don't even play my Les Paul as much, I now like to rip those same riffs on the Nash Tele, the tine is killer. I oughta sell the other 4-5 guitars!
Did you see the specs of the "elite" ? Quite a different strat if I may say. Compound neck profile (not neck fingerboard), new generation of noise less pickups that seem to achieve the goal of sounding like the real ones and finally, more electronics (not sure : S1 switch). It seems to me as a very exciting new level for Fender. Not sure I like the color choices though.
$200.00 add on's in total, BUT, because they said words like "special" and ' improvements', the price just jumped to $1800.00. oh! don't forget the word "cool". that's another $200.00.
Neither would a Fender. Have had 3 in my lifetime. Not picky, just telling the truth. When a music manufacturer has made so many great classics, they are judged by their past accomplishments. Same for Vox, same for Gibson... Go to a boutique guitar shop and check it out for yourself. New is cool, old is school.
***** Needed cash recently and sold the Strat + I had for 20yrs. Bummer. Have my Hamer American Archtop though. Great LP style player. One I have a want for is JS 2410 series Ibanez. The Orange one. check it out.
I went to my guitar shop today and had a shot of one of these and was shocked to find the neck was poorly attached to the body and had a space that you could literally slide a business card into. I thought these guitars were quality instruments????
+schlagdog I've seen Jumbos on a couple Fenders. I think the Jim Root sig models, and another more traditional model has them. I forget which "traditional" models have the Jumbos though, there's SO MANY models!!! Ah, now I got it, it's the "American Special Telecaster" that has jumbos. This is why I went with LTD Tele's, they're all jumbo frets, and way way way cheaper!!!
+Fonzy Brookestone Fenders idea of jumbo frets aren't exactly jumbo for some reason. I've played all the ones that say they are and they aren't . I've got a few schecter strats and an LTD and Charvels just because of the frets. Then I have to go and buy sets of Texas Specials for all of them. I guess fender need to make something with extra jumbo.
So it costs hundreds of dollars more because the neck is shaped differently, the truss rod is different but not really, it has a new color, the pickups are different but not really, the S1 switch is old news but we talk about it like it is new, the body has a tiny little meaningless contour change and yadi yadi yada. Ya Fender. Pull the other one.
Why the hell is Fender leaving these "amazing new pickups" with staggered polepieces when the neck has a flat radius? Hey guys, we don't use wound G strings this century.
Rj Bron lol already waste mine no regret its a fender ,its a strat and its usa , lol i could of get les paul but i find fnder tones much niver then gibson and clear
s1 is anything but garbage. Recently I started playing in a blues/jazz band and I found the s1 switch in my HSS strat extremely useful. When i need overdriven blues tones, I have a regular strat. But when I want those muddy jazz tones, I engage the s1 switch in the neck position, roll of the tone knob and I get the exact same tone from my strat as I do from my LP standard. As a matter of fact, thanks to the s1 switch, I can get LP-like tones better then I can get strat-like tones on my LP. The only remark I have is that it doesn't split the bridge humbucker in the bridge position but it's not such a big deal.
+Luke Liscio 1+ please if anyone can buy me a NOS 1962 Strat in Sonic Blue..and also a 1969 Deluxe Reverb that would be appreciated so I can play beautiful music for just my beautiful lovely self...Thank you ..Send Donations to: Give me free stuff P.O. Box Kalamazoo MI 8675309..Ps... can you send also a Klon that would be great.
probly a very nice guitar but..... how many more times will fender re-invent the spoon? everyone shits themselves over a customshop that sounds like a pre cbs leo days strat/ tele. why not stick to that and stop trying to break the sound barrier? i dont think fender has done anything better since the sixtys, thats the sound and feel we all want anyway. they even said themselves in this video "you dont want to mess with perfection". my advice for fender and gibson as well, stop trying to remake what was already a great guitar.
+Uncle Buck id buy that comment if they actually made something that wasnt out of date in 5 years. i think at this point they are just creating "want".
+Neil Kraft How will we put anything out of date if we don't make any innovations. You can't just remake technology from the 50's and 60's forever. Fender and Gibson are just trying to improve guitars as a whole, and make innovations that might revolutionize guitar making in the future.
+Dabeezkneez88 i disagree, i think they are fooling us and tnemselves. inovation isnt always about profit, or greed. arent you sick of replacing your pickups and parts when the sound uou wanted was achieved 60 years ago? its a vicious cycle that feeds on want and greed. sorta like, how many times can they remaster zepplins houses of the holy? bought that album 4 times in 4 different formats and i still prefer the original vinyl. bad analogy? stop trying to resell me what ive already bought 6 times. i know people need jobs but our business culture has gotten out of hand.
I'm fairly impressed with the Pawn Shop line and stuff like that which 1) seamlessly blends features that are otherwise ugly mods and 2) borrows from their Custom Shop experience with special orders. Far from a crappy company in terms of innovation, although some guitars may tend to be dead and clunky (very random wood selection + industrial-strength finishes.)
+Neil Kraft I think Fender is doing very well these years. For Gibson, it's another story. Gibson, as of today, is still a shitty factory with no quality control trying to push stupid things like the auto tuners on classic models. I won't buy from Gibson except maybe a low priced SG. That's it. The Fender Elite seems to be a great generation of new guitars. I see Fender differently now. They just created a new big generation of instruments with a lot of improvements well integrated into the design. They sound amazing. They might want to compete with Shur...
another marketing promo,, just make a great guitar like Anderson, suhr, prs. I have many strats and are all different. this reminds me of the next I phone series each year. Fender stop trying to imitate your guitars of the past, just build them???
fender's have such an outdated look. they always did. i don't get the appeal. i know that appeal is there, though, by the absurdly high price tags on any fender product.
Don't try and reinvent the wheel. Go make guitars from the original blueprints like the Japanese did which have seen some of the best Fenders ever made. Only folk who got ripped off think otherwise.
no way man...of course, the mij's are among the best strats ever made but that was down to quality control and attention to detail...how is it that there is this whole contingent of guitar players who believe that the electric guitar was perfected back in the 50s? the 50s for godsake! there have been so many incredible advances in the past 60 years...all sorts of great, versatile electronic developments, more efficient neck shapes, advancements in stability, upgrades for ease of set up, more logical neck heels....I could go on for hours about this...of course, I have an almost irrational respect the old fenders...for their historical value and what they contributed to music but there's absolutely no way those designs could ever compete with more modern guitar designs in the way of reliability, stability and ease of maintenance
manifestgtr Neck heels are a problem? Never had any trouble with them. Noiseless pickups? `Never had any problem with the ones that Fender used to put in their guitars in fact they sounded better. 4th generation noiseless pickups suggests that the 3 that went beforehand weren't up to much either. It was a well designed guitar in the first place. What needs changed? Nothing.
both you and I know that if fender had done nothing but make the same guitar for the last 60 years, they would've gone out of business decades ago...if your business doesn't grow and evolve with the times, you're going to get blown off the map by the hundreds of competitors out there who are making newer,, more interesting guitars
I'm sorry, this Noiseless and N3 criticism over the past decade is nothing but unfounded hype that's been drummed up by internet guitarist opines who have never spent more than $500 on a guitar unless their daddy bought it. So Fender is coming up with a "4th generation Elite" in a marketing attempt to attract acceptance for a target audience who will never buy one. smh...
+jchavins Furthermore, would you like to hear great Hendrix live recordings without the huge hum behind him ? Not me ! It's a nice sound to my hear when it has to do with the great ones.
You just cannot beat the sound of a Start or a Tele! Those cleans are amazing
Yes, I've been waiting for fender to do a wheel truss rod adjustment for a long time now! Well done fender!
Never have I liked the noiseless pickups, and whilst I'm not wholly convinced with the tele versions, I like the sound of the strat.
guys make sure you always put a rubber on your knobs.
I have a rubber extender on my knob. It helps me give better performances.
haha it's funny because penises need condoms to do sex with vaginers.
+Phvro damn i knew i was doing it wrong!
my wife makes me.
+ben galvin Yep!! No glove no love!!!!!LMAO
That's the best sounding Strat I've heard!
How much is that giant Twin Reverb? I want it
compaund radius, wheel adjustment, sculpted hill, all it needs is staneless steel frets and we will call it EVH Wolfgang
I have all of the old stuff but these new things are very inviting.
(stratocaster) its almost like there's a chorus effect inside the guitar, saking merdu nya sounds good, its a trully fine tone, amazing
Truss rod wheel is a nice touch. Much needed.
Thank you for demoing the guitars with a clean tone.
I really dig the finish on that Fender Elite Strat +10
Hello,
Congratulations on the tests.

Nice to see Greg Wallace doing more than masterchef.
That all sounds pretty good. But can it djent?
Pickups are the selling feature?
Wow, that neck heel is so revolutionary.
+Marlon Borreo - yeah it took Fender forever to copy it!
+Marlon Borreo Jeff Beck strat had that for many many years... I think Fender wants to stay identical to their historic models. They won't do any rush changes to please a certain style or another.
The acoustics sound magically delicious
love the guitar especially the neck, but really want to execute that salestwat
this guy can play!!!!! for sure
Why not put roller nut on there as well like on older Strat Pro or JB model?
it took fender 60 years to get the truss rod right. good job for keeping up to everyone else. (i'm not a fender hater, but seriously, truss wheels are far superior to just about any other option)
So the previous fender noiseless pickup were compressed and lack warmth??
Another version of 'noiseless' pickups ? Based upon previous experience are they 'noiseless' or 'useless' ?
noiseless.. they are pretty good.
they sound really good , check other videos ,i ordered strat on saturday and waitin to delivered
Damn, I really like the new elite set up. A Strat with that Autumn Burst would do nicely!!! A Tele as well lol!!
I'm trying to decide between the Telecaster and Stratocaster. I already have a mexican strat and I've always wanted a tele. But, I usually play a lot of songs that work with the tone of a strat, usually like hendrix. Any advice?
+Pignosedturtle Nashville Tele...
I like guitar fender strat very much as the sound very clear.
Imagine if the giant twin in the back was real!
on the 1st demo, the Strat, he strums sooo lightly, especially after he pushes in the S1 switch...he drives me crazy. Unless you play lullabies on your Strat. ....
on elite maple fretboard some of them yellow some of them look very pale ,why is that ? i ordered my one on saturday and waitin to be delivered ,
Finally started competing with Musicman. They've been stuck in the mud for so long and wouldn't you know all of these usability features gets released the same year as the Musicman cutlass 6 string. No coincidence.
jazz elite bass ?
What's up with jumbo frets on a strat???
def the strat i want someday
pretty annoying how they don't really wanna say the actual price bc it will sound expensive to actually say 'two thousand ___ dollars' out loud. just say the price instead of "twenty four" or "seventeen"
+Darrien Day Pretty annoying how you wanna throw a fit over the way someone announces a price.
Will Castillo hey let's be friends, I love the way you reply to my comments
+Darrien Day thats right, peace bro
DukeStarbuckle thanks. i'm very used to salespeople listing prices like this, i just wish these companies would quit trying to fool our ears when they list their expensive ass gear haha
You are right they are expensive. I wouldn't buy one.
Very nice gear, and Jenn is cute.
ya want a great tele and don't wanna pay a ton for it?..check out the squier classic vibe series. look 'em up on you tube and see what folks are saying about 'em, you might be surprised at how good they really are and only cost around $500..
Hmmmmmm, so Anson Mount works for Fender as Rick, in between seasons for Hell On Wheels. :)
+Josche Lei He looks nothing like Anson Mount.
Not sure about all that dough for the Edge's amp. And why is Fender making the heel cutout such a big deal?? Haven't they had certain models with that for years and years? Not sure why it took them this long to finally start putting them on more models.

Sweet sounding strat. To me it has a little tele-like sound.
The new truss rod looks like Fender ripped a strat a new one. Otherwise, the guitar sounds really great. 4:30-4:45 what great classic tones! WANT.
its way better than any other adjustment they have made. evolution is good
Who would have thought Fender would get Little Finger to demo their guitars.
Trying to catch up with Suhr
This guy clearly understands how the cardioid mic being held up to his face works.....
This guy clearly knocked his shcpeel "outa the park"... Don't hyperventilate now...
How about inventing a new 5-way switch that cannot be accidentally switched when playing rhythm near the bridge?
+vecernicek2 You should change your way of strumming (technical correction). First time I hear that about the 5 way switch.
Eric D. No, my technique is good, I have large hands, though. Also, I think it is the instrument which should accommodate to the technique, not vice versa. Technique should be commanded by sound, not by where your switches are. And I've definitely seen other guitarists accidentally switch on a strat.
Thanks for the info !
...damn that sounds nice, even over these pc speakers...
i just want to buy the neck
those are nice too
id buy it too. its the perfect strat
+jonas brave My strat rarely gets played since I added a tele to my arsenal.
+Bob Mann - I would like a Strat that sounds more Tele in the bridge. Maybe the shitty hardware of most Strats is to blame, like the cheap bridge block and those stupid springs, but some people put metal base plates on their Strat bridge pickups to emulate a Tele tone (somewhat.)
I don't even play my Les Paul as much, I now like to rip those same riffs on the Nash Tele, the tine is killer. I oughta sell the other 4-5 guitars!
They should make an 8 string stratocaster.
Forget about the amps. I want that dude's hairstyle!
ผมอยากให้ fender ทำ 24 แฟรตบ้างครัช
So.... its a deluxe strat??? What am i missing here?
check my unboxing in my channel. thank u.
+JgHaverty No. The deluxe still exist; I think... It's a new level above the deluxe.
+Eric D. no they removed the deluxe
Eric D. Its literally the same thing, just updated. The new neck shape is really largely an arbitrary thing.
I want the gen 4 noisless pickups and s1 switching. that's it. The rest of the guitar I could care less.
Nice!
You sure this isn't a MIM????
Wauw, so revolutionary. Im not being sarcastic. Really.
in 100 years your vintage Squier will be worth a million bucks :)
Sounds like a not-noiseless p/u switch.
$200.00 add on's in total, BUT, because they said words like "special" and ' improvements', the price just jumped to $1800.00. oh! don't forget the word "cool". that's another $200.00.
I want that!!! :O
Fender obviously battling the past as usual. Hard to beat a classic, though they try.
lol. Good one. How much is an old model T worth?
Neither would a Fender. Have had 3 in my lifetime. Not picky, just telling the truth. When a music manufacturer has made so many great classics, they are judged by their past accomplishments. Same for Vox, same for Gibson... Go to a boutique guitar shop and check it out for yourself. New is cool, old is school.
And how far one bends so called boundaries and creates new music.
*****

the Fender noiseless pickups are simply a disaster. replaced mine after one gig....
Touch sensitive pick-ups...... mhrm....
+rm2kdev Not without rubber .
LOL (¬‿¬) '~'
I went to my guitar shop today and had a shot of one of these and was shocked to find the neck was poorly attached to the body and had a space that you could literally slide a business card into. I thought these guitars were quality instruments????
The whole scope of music would be different if Leo Fender's name would have been Hubcap ...
frets were out to quick need hardening tough like end of screwdriver byers beware,
That Twin Amp behind them
Why does fender refuse to make anything worth a crap with jumbo frets? Can't they just only put jumbos on something they make?
+schlagdog I've seen Jumbos on a couple Fenders. I think the Jim Root sig models, and another more traditional model has them. schlagdog What you should do is buy a Warmoth or USACG guitar or a neck and throw it on a Fender body. You can have the neck however you want it.
schlagdog And try Benson Custom Pickups. You can have them however you want, they're better and cheaper.
+Fonzy Brookestone I searched out the Jim Root and its is supposed to have 6100 frets or whatever and they felt nothing like jumbos.
So it costs hundreds of dollars more because the neck is shaped differently, the truss rod is different but not really, it has a new color, the pickups are different but not really, the S1 switch is old news but we talk about it like it is new, the body has a tiny little meaningless contour change and yadi yadi yada. these should have a roller nut. plastic nuts are just garbage. rollers for the win
Why the hell is Fender leaving these "amazing new pickups" with staggered polepieces when the neck has a flat radius? Hey guys, we don't use wound G strings this century.
+JH Scofield - it's mental. I wonder if you can get in and push those pole pieces outward a bit, it worked fine on a MIJ Strat with polepiece magnets.
breaks wax and can sheer tiny winding wire.
Amps are nice...the girl on the acoustic is nicer ;)
every time fender cone out with new improvements on they push me people away from them.
lol Aerodynamic headstock.
fender always the best amps. guitars well below Gibson les pauls in everyway in craftmanship
I don't understand "noiseless". If you want noiseless then I don't think a strat is for you.
measuring the tone? what in the hell is this guy talking about hahah
The strat was always a parts guitar. Build your own. This is just a strat with noiseless pickups. Don't waste money.
Rj Bron lol already waste mine no regret its a fender ,its a strat and its usa , lol
i could of get les paul but i find fnder tones much niver then gibson and clear

So Fender is coming up with a "4th generation Elite" in a marketing attempt to attract acceptance for a target audience who will never buy one. smh...
+RC Jones the noise is something that recording engineers complain about...I couldn't care less as a noise suppressor works fine with a Strat.
+jchavins Furthermore, would you like to hear great Hendrix live recordings without the huge hum behind him ? Not me ! It's a nice sound to my hear when it has to do with the great ones.
