- In mid December I solo hiked one of Australia's best multi day hiking trails; The Three Capes Track. It consistently ranks as being one of Australia's best hiking trails and it's easy to see why. The track is 48km point-to-point and is completed over the course of 4 days with stunning scenery for the vast majority of it.
See the exact path I took;

My family and I had the pleasure to meet Josh on this walk. I was wondering both when it would be posted and how it would look. As for it looks - awesome. One often forgets some aspects of a walk and to see it again was great. As Josh notes - it is a cracking trail - manicured with many areas for caution. We had cracking weather which was a bonus. As with all of Josh's vids - ripping images. It is great to meet someone who not only loves a walk in the bush but has the eye, skill and desire to promulgate hiking in a short(ish) video to entice. Keep cranking them out Josh - such experiences last a lifetime. Go well.
I love this
The soft piano music is perfect for hiking videos. Def a respite from the dubstep/pop that people often ruin a serene hike video with
Man. That's so beautiful. Awesome job 👏 👍
That looks like a great hike, very scenic. Thanks for sharing.
Huge variety of perspectives filmed. Thanks for taking us on this journey
Thank you for the video, I have heard about the three capes track and now I know why people speak so highly about it. It's now on my bucket list.
this was an absolutely beautifully edited and inspiring piece of art brother. cheers for sharing it with everyone!
This production is bloody beautiful! Hoping to hit this track late summer. Thanks for creating/sharing.
Thanks Rebecca, hope you enjoy! It’s a stunning trail
Stunning!!! Thank you.

Your videos are beautiful. So soothing and a great look at the scenery and the terrain, thank you. They are beautiful to watch.
Great video, looking forward to doing this myself when I can.
This is on the bucket list with 2 kids. Looks amazing.
Looks like you scored great weather👌 Good on Tasmania for building hikes like this👍
I am sorry you seem to have stopped doing hiking videos as you do a damn good job
Hi Josh. Just found your channel & loving all your videos. I am also from WA and live in Yallingup. I recently did the Cape to Cape end to end, so I am finding some real inspiration from your other hikes. I have now added the Three Capes to my list this year!!! Your videography is amazing!!! Keep it up 🙏⭐️
Awesome vid as always josh u just keep giving me more trails to add to my list which is fabulous. Great job champ
Cheers Lenny, my list is only growing larger by the day too 😅
Beautiful video Josh and thanks for sharing.
Thanks Angela 😊
The best film I have seen on this track it makes want to do it, nice job filming it.
Thanks for a great vid and a great trail. I too am a solo hiker. I have just spent 1 month in northern Italy hiking. I also do long day hiking, this would be a great prep for a future hike GR20, getting used to a heavy pack and staying overnight. Thanks again
Loved the filming, great video. Well done.
Cheers!
wow you so great..solo Hiking One of Australia's Best Trails
I binge watched your channel today. Inspiring stuff mate. Great videography, storyline, editing. Love the talk to camera at the end of each vid. I really hope the audience appreciates all the walking back to the tripod! Bring on 2021. Cheers mate.
Cheers Chris, really appreciate it!
I did a small section of the Three Cape Track, just a day walk, and it was beautiful. Tasmania is one of my favourite places in Australia, I can't wait to go back
Can’t agree more, such a beautiful place of the world!
Fantastic camera work. Great insights. After watching your video, I feel more comfortable to do this track on my own too. Thanks for your contribution.
Cheers Ben it’s a ripper of a track, enjoy!
19:55 it definitely was worth it. Really enjoyed this recap of Three Capes Track. Keep it up, Josh!
Haha good to know! Cheers Vu, appreciate it mate
Another great hiking video mate, the food looked delicious 😋 might have to try some of that myself. Another hike for my 2021 bucket list. Great job 👏🏻 😁👍🏻
Best trail food I’ve had! Will definitely be buying from them again when I head back to Tassie
Really good video! Beautiful scenery!
Thanks mate!
Cant wait for the borders to open and start studying in Australia. Will def hike in my free time !
Likewise! Normality can’t come soon enough
So many great shots of the area but the 2 ants shot fantastic tops it all off 👍
This one is going on my list
Awesome video Josh! I had a pleasure to meet Josh on this trail. Thanks for the cameo hehe. Happy new year and more hikes to come!
Likewise Alan, was great to meet you too! All the best for your future travels
The Cheese with that view. The best. Im going to do this trail now. Cheers for the awesome vid bro.
Phenomenal Footage.
Cheese makes everything better. Enjoy it mate you’ll love it!
This is awesome! This one is on our bucket list for sure. #Tassie
Hi Josh and thank you so much for sharing you stunning trip. We would like to travel to Australia and down the hiking trail, i'd love if you could provide us with some onfo about. Travelling from Greece, Athens!
Great job bro, looks like a nice track I reckon you did it justice!
Cheers Rob!
Just found your channel mate, love it thanks for sharing, im really hoping to start myself hiking in 2021
Thanks mate, it’s become a bit addictive after a while!
@@JoshCarrHikes but a great thing to get addicted to, I've done a few hikes around my local area, hope to do a lot more in 2021
awesome video mate! loved it! But Blade! I nearly fell off from here. My legs went wobbly just watching! Yikes!
I've not done an over night walk maybe this adventure could be my Christmas present.
Epic Christmas present!
Looks great!
Surprised the pass costs so much but after seeing the facilities it makes sense!
how much is it?
@@MissFrequestion $495 but that’s to use 27 million dollar facilities. Looks like it’s worth every cent
9.37 wow
So a lot of board walks? Tracks looks very well maintained, great vid
Loads & loads of board walks!
Great video! I'd love to come to Australia and go hiking, I am scared of spiders though lol so how often did you see spiders?
Spiders are least of your worries! I’d be more concerned about the drop bears if I was you 😉
27 mill and you pay so much to have luxury camping, us locals walk it for free lol but cant stay at huts etc
next time bro leave bag half way to cape huay lol mad bugger walking up and down them stairs with a pack on lol
that view over tasman island is fantastic mate good onya i cant wait to do this one i left the best till last,
3 capes track but you only see and do 2 lol cape roal isnt on the walk, and as i said to my wife they should of dropped you off at cape roal then boat over do the track to fortescue then carry on to bivouac bay up to eaglehawk neck thats a bigger mission mate
nice shot over mount brown, in my trip to cape hauy after cape roal i stopped for a smoke looking over tasman island cape pillar track its the best view , last one in the area for me to do is this track!
we have the best cheese and beer here howd you like it m8?
nice video m8
It’s a lot easier for me to take my bag than to leave it behind, makes carrying the camera gear a lot easier. Also there’s a lot of $ in that backpack so even though I doubt many people would touch it on the trail, better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.
Would have been good to do Raoul but ran out of time. Doesn’t bother me too much though as it’s an excuse to head back there again. But yeah the three capes track name is a bit misleading for that reason I guess.
Cheese and beers were bloody good! I’ll definitely be digging into more of those when I come back 😅
Thx Josh! Looks wonderful. Is the trail well marked? Female solo hiker and my nav skills suck!
I’ll be really impressed if you managed to get lost on this trail haha. It’s super well marked and maintained so you won’t have any issues with navigation
Nice - what camera gear do you use? Also like the colour grade, very consistent.
Cheers - A7iii with a 16-35mm f2.8 g-master lens. All other gear is linked in the description if you're interested in seeing the full get up
@@JoshCarrHikes Cheers - I'll have a look
Hello
Bro what about the phone signal in your whole hiking track . You phone can get signals easily , please reply
Many thanks
SALEEM from Sydney Australia.
Great video Josh! Where did you stay prior to the hike?
Cheers Tim! Geez I couldn’t even remember to tell the truth. All I know is that it was one of the cheaper rooms in Hobart at the time 😂
@@JoshCarrHikes No worries. I'm doing the walk in September, should be great 🤠
@@timlowe19 Enjoy! It’s a ripper
Looked like a few good Drone spots on that hike ??
Plenty. Tasmania are pretty strict on the drone laws in National Parks though
13:24 I can imagine how the bar taste
Too bloody good!
Is it worth visiting in winter?
Hauy’s nine billion steps 😂☠️
😂 just a few
will you do overland track anytime soon?
Soon enough! Maybe not until the end of the year now though with the weather starting to cool down.
