The best thing about listening to these is you're getting a great chilling story while you can mosey about and get things done instead of sitting in front of the idiot box without the mundanity and uniformity of an e-book. Best of both worlds.

Been a fan of radio drama since I first discovered it almost 15 years ago and its wonderful seeing so many people, especially the younger ones who never grew up with radio shows, discover these treasures.

I am also pleased that younger people are into it. I grew up listening to them on the radio in the 70s. When these younger people encounter them, they have no trouble recognizing the quality. The storytelling is so good. I think those younger people are going to have an easier time discriminating between good and bad movies and TV also. There is lots of TV and movies that are far inferior to great radio drama.

I think it was Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) who said, "I love it when someone turns on the radio (in our times it would be the television), because it reminds me to go read a book". These are well written and the acting is on point. Better than that really?ality crap on tv.

The chicken heart and the dark were actual episodes of lights out in the 1930s (chicken heart repeated a few times) however you’re right the chicken heart and the dark blurbs represented here were reenacted clips of the original episodes. And yes they came from the 1962 lights out album “drop dead” which had renactments of original episodes. The chicken heart original script is available online and I thought the dark was but I was wrong

Old man rant alert, before DVR’s Satellite radio, streaming and RUclips you’d have to know the time something would be on and I would set my alarm to watch the TV version of Lights Out 4:30 am mon - fri and since where I lived OTR was on only 30 min everyday it could be months before you’d hear another episode of this. Oh bread was a nickel just kidding. Rant over.

The almost last story reminds me of the live TV Analog play and also the longer movie called 'Patterns'. Great play/movies. It's a story about an executive employee who worked for decades for the same company almost from the beginning of it who then is treated so badly emotionally he ends up dying of a heart attack at work. His name is Mr Briggs and the evil boss is named Mr Ramsey instead.
It's a white collar story of how businesses/employers will treat loyal long term older employees like dirt just so they will quit as they bring on younger ones to replace them.
