- Black Mass was a radio show from 1963 to 1967.
I sourced the audio from here:
www.kpfahistor...
Check out that website for more information about the history of the show.
I featured a few of these stories in my Cosmic Horror Collection ( • Cosmic Horror - An Old... ) but the rest were so good I decided to upload them all. It would be in one video but RUclips limits videos to 12 hours and this collection would have been over 13 all together.

I never heard of "black mass" till yesterday....wow I dig it!! Thanks to this channel ......big props 🤪
Love the black mass thank you Caleb
I've been a huge fan of Black Mass for years...and Caleb has provided the episodes I failed to find. Thank you so much for being committed and true to the last great bastion of entertainment...radio.
Love it. Only years later as an adult did I realize this was produced by and broadcast on KPFA. Was exposed to my 1st Lovecraft adaptation on this classic show. An homage to many classics like Lights Out & Quiet Please et al. Amazing sound quality. How?

What an IMPRESSIVE collection - superbly acted classics, by top authors ofthe world - Bierce, Kafka, Gogol. What a wonderful find! Amazing, thank you!!
"Theater of the mind." By engaging fewer senses our imaginations blossom. Thanks for the great curation!
Amazing!!! Love it ❤❤❤❤❤ I'm doing a jigsaw listening to these stories and I'm sooo happy 😁😁😁
Thanks for posting this collection! I knew Erik Bauersfeld, the director, at KPFA. Even wrote two operas, Bartleby the Scrivener and Diary of a Madman, which he adapted into librettos for me. Daniel Steven Crafts
Sound is superb! Looking forward to listening to this collection. I try to imagine a time before television, then cable, then computers and cell phones. Just a book or radio to pass the time after dinner on a cold winter night, or a hot sticky night for that matter. Very hard to imagine, but then again ,you cannot miss what you never knew in the first place.
I am loving this,I enjoy listening to these old radio show I usually fall asleep listening to these
High quality performances and recording 👍👍 Only excelled by the superb choice of stories, which is the classic but nevertheless undated work of true masters 😊👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊😉
This program is one of the most amazing productions i have ever heard, i loved the outsider, all of then have impressive stories and the quality is superb, i love the black mass
Magnificent to find all these in one file. Thanks.
The quality is so impressive! I once had a version of The Rats in the Walls from this collection but the quality was terrible. Thank you for uploading these!

This series is a lot darker than most. I love it
the quality is amazing
Thank-you very much
Thanks!👍
Wow! I had to double check. Welcome back Caleb! It's been a while. I sound like the Staind song. lol😁
Thanks :). I meant to get this up during October but the time needed eluded me. Uploads will always be sporadic. I don't find great stuff like this every day.
@@calebjones4129 no worries. I enjoyed it!👌
Great production. Wonderful collection with several I hadn't heard before.
Is it me or does Bernard Mays sound a bit like Stephen Frye in some of his characters. Especially Frye in Black Adder.
This is new to me. Creepy and loving this.
Did you voice this? Brilliantly put together
Oh no. This is a radio show that started in the 1960s. Here's a website with more info.

Nice
Sweet!
Love it 🖤 ☠️
I’m watching hair videos on RUclips with the volume on mute and listening to this on my phone
Nice. I like to do the same with restoration videos.
Caleb
I know I said something before, but I simply had to reiterate just how happy you have made me by making this series,an I hope you make more like these, they are awsome.
@@nancymanco8953 The whole Black Mass program is uploaded to my channel in two parts. There won't be any more videos in that series but there will probably be more collections of other shows in the future. They take a while to put together.
New subscriber. You rule.
I read diary of a Madman back in the 80s !
Trying to translate this is so difficult.! Not that we are trying, but because.
I ❤ U Black Mass 💋💘💋
Pure old English class. When we were good for something
Not sure what you mean. These episodes are 100% American.
Offramp Tavanipupu they sound English well the ones I’ve heard thanks anyway how are you getting on with the virus I’m in lanzarote where are you
Must be a long time since you were in England, these actors don't sound English but some do have a mid-Atlantic accent that used to be taught to US actors in the past.
The Atrophy story sounds like a Monty Python sketch.
So Cool Thank You ! ☕️😮💨 Hello From Long Bech Ca. 🏝️🌊🧜🏽♀️🏄🏻♂️🌅. ☕️☕️😮💨🚀🪐
New to me
Did anyone else start humming "war pigs"
Me either.
What’s with the ads mate?
You really need ads in this
If you mean vintage ads I didn't edit them out.
If you mean modern ads it's because this video has a copyright strike against it and the rights owners want money.
I kinda tend to stay with the Hellas and Shqipe side of the family. But these are good.
2:29:33
Atrophy is the closest to an OTR shitpost as we may ever come.
OMFG these have some instances of terrible voice acting! Especially the Ambrose Bierce stories! OMFG the overbearing fake accents, especially of the hysterical women actors!
Budahbaba Hi Joshie!
@@GalCharlotteOG that is a cool thumbnail you have there. She bears resemblance to a female Ozzy Osbourne -in a good way. In fact, at first glance, i thought she was.
Budahbaba Caitlin Jenner...😉
Unfortunately for as good as a lot of old time radio is, that is a issue you will run into. The greats always bring a fantastic performance and Bauersfield is no exception but sometimes the side characters can be pretty bad. You also have to think of the time period when women were often looked at as hysterical.
@@xxxslash616xxx A time period "when women were often looked at as hysterical"...LMAO! Yeah, sooo long ago!
❤
It's a trap!
