You know what always bothered me about this scene is the whole group frozen in a circle around them. If they're living in a dangerous time, provoking a war, hunting, playing violent sport - they know that life goes on while a guy is lying fatally wounded on the ground. People would be cooking, collecting wood for fires, quietly making small talk off to the side and maybe shaking their heads as they comment about how unlucky he is. They wouldn't just stare.
The show suffers from some imprecissions. This scene is one of them. In mid 18th cent., in the Highlands, in a situation like this, there are zero chances than a dying man doesn't mention, or is mentioned, entrusting oneself to Our Lord mercy, and begging to finish this drama by being brought to Heaven. Plausible omission from 20th educated and agnostic Claire. Not from the others.
The UK has not had a bear in at least 3 centuries before this "historical moment", bears have been extinct since before Roman times. Unless you want to really make historical fiction, go ahead, provide us with the explanation.
That wasn't a bear, it was a wild boar.
😂
