She said she moved from NY, studio apt. So yeah from a tiny place to a bigger place but with less storage space. I do agree with you, not every spot has to occupy something
I would face your couch towards the wall it is currently on, then have the TV on that wall, it would be cozy, then your path of travel to your desk wouldn't cut in front of the TV, and you could put storage where the TV currently is
Don't laugh... I'm a 57 hear old lady living vicariously through you. No you tube when I was your age to see how it "should" be done.. I am impressed. I have learned from you my dear girl. Keep on keeping on.
If you move the bed, close the closet door, then at least you can close it and you could probably still get in and out fine with it not open all the way. Just a thought lol. You may prefer to just be able to have it all the way open!
You have a big living dining room space so I would utilize it all. Some your sofa is so small I would get an extra accent chair for extra seating and maybe get a large book case covering the whole back wall or two flanking each side of the sofa. Take your time and don't stress trying to get it all done
You have so much room where all your unpacked boxes are in the corner in the L.R. you would have room for a small table and chairs and even bar stools at the island for you to eat at or extra seating for company. Your apartment is adorable.
I personally don’t like the couch away from the wall😭 I love big open space. To me, big/open/clutter free is more cozy than small/cramped/decor and furniture filling every square foot.
for the mirror in your room, if the frame around it is metal, you can use rub n buff to change the color of it but still keep the antique/rustic vibe. it comes in several different colors, and its cheaper and easier than having to paint it!
If the couch fits, I'd put it by the window in the bedroom with a bookshelf across. With a tall lamp. And get a sofa bed just in case your friends come over.
I wouldn’t make any decisions until you’re all unpacked. Those boxes are taking up a lot of room. When that’s done then decide. But the couch, I wouldn’t move it, when it’s all unpacked I would say an accent chair but like I said I would wait until everything’s unpacked. Though I don’t get why you coffee maker is by the stove and not the sink, I feel like you should switch it with the air fryer. But to each their own.
We are here for you Kristee and unpacking is stressful your apartment's looking amazing so far and my dryer makes that exact sound too. It may seem overwhelming now, but the happiness you'll feel when it's all said and done is worth it. 😊👍🏻
I would put the black shelf against the little wall beside the kitchen island in the living room! Would add nice some nice decor and height in the living room area! 😊
I think once you add accent chairs it will widen the space into a more living space. You are so used to your studio space. You are adorable. You look so happy. ❤
Love seeing your first couple days back in the DMV ❤ the apartment will always be a work in progress so no rush to decide everything immediately, I still try to tell myself that 😅
Scoot your bed over, close the closet door, scoot bed back in place. You can still access your closet as I always keep my bedroom closet door closed anyway. And you can still keep your 2 bed side tables & lamps.
You could hang wooden cutting boards on the wall near the fridge or a matching set of pans or something (I dream of hanging my cast irons and wooden cutting boards LOL)
Put up a large rectangular art print that is on canvas on the wall adjacent to your fridge. That way you avoid hitting glass with the fridge door. Use the art to tie in the colors you have in your furniture and accent colors, such as the brown in your sofa and other colors you want to use as accents. Or, find a great art print and pull the colors from it for accent pillows and other art, being sure that your sofa color is a part of the print. You might want to think about a soft green and rust colored accents, which are current colors and relaxing. You need a bigger rug for your living room. Place your sofa facing the window with the back to your dining area and place a nice antique storage piece where you have your couch currently. Angle your accent chairs to make your conversation area. You can still see your TV from there, but you will provide separation between your dining space and avoid having your couch shoved against the wall. You then have several focal points with the TV and the windows. Get a great art print for that wall to the left of your bedroom window. Bring in some nice big plants to fill in spaces and bring the outdoors in. You are off to a great start!
Some one else said you need to float the couch facing the opposite way and put tv on the wall where you have the back of the couch. This is 100% what you need to do
You could put the tv stand on the wall where your couch is now! And have the couch “floating” in the middle of the room. Then put a console for storage where you planned to put the tv stand and the space between the couch and the console becomes a little walkway. Love the new apartment tho!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with it
Okay hear me out… what if you pulled the fridge out so that it faces the sink and then use the area hidden by the side of the fridge as storage, loll this might not be possible depending on if the cord is too short but just an idea🤣
I love the new place its so spacious ❤ and I do like the round mirror if you feel inclined to donate to me 😂😂😂😂😂 I love how you have set things up so far 😃
I feel like she’s used to things looking crammed. Not every wall and empty spot needs decor or tiny table

😂same!
I’m 54, and I too, am living vicariously through her 😊
this is so sweet, thank you!! much love
Idea for beside the fridge - a tapestry. It will protect the wall from the freezer door, and you don't have to worry about broken glass.
Spray paint the mirror black and put it up in your front entry way ???
Unpack one box at a time. Don’t worry about decorating until boxes are done.
If you move the bed, close the closet door, then at least you can close it and you could probably still get in and out fine with it not open all the way. Just a thought lol. You may prefer to just be able to have it all the way open!
This was exactly my thought when she first mentioned the closet door not being able to close.

Lord this ones gonna be crammed too.

I’m so happy for you!! Girl, you are doing it RIGHT! Endless success and exciting adventures coming your way!
facebook market place was my best friend when I moved got alot of stuff from there still brand new

And since it's such a small mirror, install it on entry wall at apt door.
If the couch fits, I'd put it by the window in the bedroom with a bookshelf across. With a tall lamp. And get a sofa bed just in case your friends come over.

Also, everyone has such great ideas here!!! What an awesome community.

Yes I would put it along the wall next to the island in the living room where the boxes are
Agreed
Thanks for showing us all the things! Take your time and give yourself grace on unpacking! ❤
I’d add an ottoman under bedroom window with some decorative pillows, extra storage/ little spot to sit ☺️
I think you need another lamp on the opposite side of the living room. By the kitchen. Light has to be balanced in a room if you can.

Love your apartment. You'll get it order in time. You seem so happy in D.C.
Good luck in New journey ❤
I love loving tan! It is seriously the best tan on the market - fades so nicely

The back knook, by the fridge, a mirror to boucle light and wallpaper ❤
Ms. Girl you should clean that Keurig. It looks like it’s getting moldy.
Hi, I’m new here, love your moving series. Could you please link those blue moving bags you have with the backpack straps? Thanks!❤
If you decide to remove the closet door, consider using the door as a headboard for your bed. It would serve a duel purpose and be out of the way.
I’m loving these vlogs!
Lovely place! Hoping you get rid of the horizontal blinds though 😂
Lovely video too watch.Thank you for sharing 🥰👍
I just moved myself and it took me a couple weeks to be settled.
Why not try some renter friendly peel and stick wallpaper by the fridge.
This are looking great!!!

Good idea!
exactly what I was gonna say. or even slim wardrobes for storage on the wall with the bedroom door.
Wow , no kidding, and she will get into the f couch every time she moves around the house . Smart idea my ass. Maybe if you are an idiot.
100% THIS
just curious if you've thought of getting a used car or something to make your commute less stressful?
I think you should reposition the bed so you can keep the closet door closed and open when needed.
paper calendar or whiteboard behind the fridge door!!
Take your time to put anything up on your walls.Because it is there that it.
Do you find the tan rubs off on your clothes?! With wearing white the day after you tan
I’d love to know Kristee, where you got the lamp that’s beside your couch.
target!
@@kristee.vetter thank you 😊
Root beer olipop is top tier

Unpacking is so much harder than packing; too many decisions to be made!
New to your channel! Hello from Louisiana 😃
Welcome!! 🥳
Are you going to get a car ?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please don’t keep your airfyer and toaster out on the counter
god i miss wegmans and moms so much D:

You could do stick on wallpaper behind the fridge!
I love the new place its so spacious ❤ and I do like the round mirror if you feel inclined to donate to me 😂😂😂😂😂 I love how you have set things up so far 😃
I’ve been watching you & @lindseyhughes for literally yrs now, it’s great seeing you both still so close. 😀🔥🏴
I think some curtains for your windows would make it super cozy 🩷
