You say “Colin throws this hissy fit, even if you watch his slideshow for hours,” which leads me to believe that you watched Colin’s slideshow for hours.
I know I did. I was playin one night, and fell asleep, leaving it on. The show ran ALLLLLL night. When I closed out of it in the morning, he was still angry XD
I've got a few others for you: If you play the game normally, you can't even do the sausage puzzle. You have to go ahead and do the dance audition, wander around Venice a bit, then come back to the Ca (all of this without having opened the package) and THEN the sausages are in Nancy's room. If you just play the normal sequence, they don't show up. This might just be a glitch in the game on my computer, but it's still weird. (I got so confused the first few times I played this game because I saw posts on the HerInteractive forum about the sausages and had no earthly idea what they were talking about.) Also, if you do all the dancing first and then start the game, a vase drops off the roof at you before you've even started the mystery. Culprit has ESP. Whether you play the game on the normal sequence or not, a vase still falls from the roof. Is Helena waiting up on the roof for Nancy to walk right underneath? And how does Margherita not even notice? How is Gina involved in the sapphire theft but not the Phantom? From the way the note is written, she knows it's Samantha contacting her, so shouldn't she be a bit surprised when she's contacted through Fango's chess account? You have to go through all four mosaic puzzles just to get a microscope bulb. Extreme "Nancy does everyone else's chores cliche." No matter which two places you're traveling between in Venice, you still float past the same buildings on every gondola trip. Game makers reuse all the same clips to save on animation. If you tell Margherita that you're bird watching, she mentions in the conversation you overhear that she once met Red Knott from Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. How on Earth would THOSE two have crossed paths? None of the romance languages have the "ph" sound that English does. Her name would be spelled "Sofia." Okay, I didn't mean to write quite this many. I absolutely love these videos, they're so much fun! I can't wait to see what you do with Ransom of the Seven Ships.
I actually just posted a comment about how I didn't get the sausages in my game and I wondered why! Should've done some more reading in the comments before I posted that I guess. Thanks for the explanation! I wonder if I really missed all that much though by not getting the sausages?
madison_face You're welcome! It took me ages to figure out how to trigger the sausages. Still say I did it by accident. You don't miss a whole lot. You get more reason to snoop in everyone's stuff so you can compare handwritings, and you find out that Colin arranged to view one of the stolen items the day before it was stolen. That's pretty much it. Game is better without that subplot. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who had trouble with them.
Out of all the times I've played the game (these are the only games my depression hasn't sapped away my desire to play), this most recent time is the only time I haven't gotten the sausages. I kept waiting for them to pop up, but they never did. No idea what I did differently this time.
@@rigormortis9881 Okay, I wasn't aware that some of them do. Thank you for that! I only speak Spanish, which doesn't use it, so I wasn't sure about some of the others. Clearly should've done my research. Thanks.
Hilarious as always. Yeah... In my opinion, the Samantha Quick reveal was a little lame... They had a cool, mysterious character, and then... Nope. Just one of Zoe's aliases. But that's just my opinion.
How do people get that she was a "cool, mysterious character" from one snippet? And it was obvious she was using a voice modulator, so saying it was "because of her voice" doesn't work.
The Ca’ is pretty centrally located. Venice is made up of many islands. Most people live on the smaller islands and take a water bus to work on the main island. Since the Ca’ is on the main island it is in a pretty central location. Not central on the main island itself but Venice as a whole.
I just finished this game! :) I actually noticed quite a few audio glitches in my version. Almost like the characters had something more to say, but got cut off
And for #127, people have noticed that in RAN, Coucou can say "Justin and Samantha." My guess is that the silhouette is Samantha Quick. How they know each other, I have no idea.
Well, Samantha's a spy; I figured she found out Nancy's phone number herself with not much difficulty. I don't know that they met at Dread Isle, but I do wonder how Coucou would know about them!
Exactly! :). One of the times Nancy talks to her, Helena points it out and says, "Pretty locket, where'd you get it from?" and when Nancy tells her that her boyfriend got it for her, Helena stops and kind of softly says, "Your boyfriend...you really have everything, don't you, Nancy?". Helena's lonely and envious that Nancy has a boyfriend; it kind of gives Helena more of a real-person feeling, as it shows that while she was perfectly fine with stealing a ton of stuff and she was making a career of it, she still regrets that she doesn't have a boyfriend. :). I dunno, I guess I just liked that detail, lol, and I was glad to see someone else saw it that way too!
Love these vids! You missed one though! When Colin leaves, all of his stuff is gone from his table other than the Puzzle Box but I'd you click where the microscope was, the microscope magically appears along with his array of Tessera, etc.

you know which one is the right pigeon based on the spotlight under its feet. plus I think it’s the only one not moving? I can’t remember it’s been so long.
Nancy can go around in odd clothes, because she's there during Carnevale. People dress up in extremely elaborate costumes during that time of year, so she honestly doesn't stand out. One of her items is even a Carnevale mask, which tourists wear all the time visiting the city. Also Fango isn't pronounced like tango, it's pronounced "FAHN-go," since Italian uses a soft "-a" xD
Her thoughts echoed because she was going into a flashback. But I agree that that wasn't the best time to have a flashback. But I think other shows do it quite often or used to. And there is nothing wrong with the tiles guy asking Nancy if she think he's just a handyman. He was meaning that everyone thinks he won't amount to anything more than a handyman.
I always thought that Samantha Quick was a gentle nod at Samantha Swift, a Hidden Object protagonist that came out around the same year this game was made.
On my game (for whatever reason) if you play senior mode, you can't do the sausage puzzle. If you do, it makes Justin/Collin leave before you can use his microscope to steal the sapphire. It entirely clears his workbench, and thus you can't finish the game.
37. 'This game'? Isn't Nancy hurting for money in about every game? Lolol 42. Tbf, Helena and Justin do say something if Nancy wears the cat mask or the blonde wig, but I did notice they weren't in the least weirded out by the rest of Nancy's fashion 😆 44. Also tbf, Helena is saying how Justin is so focused on his work that it's hard to talk to him, so as he's busy working on the big mosaic at the moment, he probably isn't paying attention. 47. I think the notes in Nancy's journal say that he needs to be there for school, but I'm not sure why Ned would need to access the library in New York when he lives near Chicago; isn't there a hospital library closer to him? 48. I think Ned means something along the lines of, "It's winter here, isn't Venice in the same season as us? Like, why would Margherita be sun-bathing *now* ?" :) 49. I think Nancy's journal also explains this, but I can't remember what she said Frank was doing. 57. Or Fango's teleporting, lolol. 73. I am convinced that Tazza is determined to be annoying when it comes to Scopa; we have to sit through his tutorial, him telling Nancy about when he gets a point seems like he's rubbing it in and being too competitive, and he won't pay Nancy after she gets him the sapphire until she also beats him at Scopa. 82. Some girls do wear their necklaces to sleep, and probably especially if it was a locket their boyfriend gave them. :) 85. Because Helena wanted it. One of the times Nancy talks to her, Helena points out the locket and says, "Pretty locket, where'd you get it from?" and when Nancy tells her that her boyfriend got it for her, Helena stops and kind of softly says, "Your boyfriend...you really have everything, don't you, Nancy?". I figured it just "second chance"-ed you each time, since both Nancy and the system resets each time you're caught, and so the system would end up never even seeing Nancy, a la The Phantom. 99. Tbf, he thought Nancy was Samantha Quick, so he probably didn't think it would hurt anything to say that in front of her. 101. I think Nico lost the box when he was raiding Ca' Nascosta. Enrico mentions it when he's talking to Nico before he and Nancy play Scopa the second time. 102. THIS PUZZLE. It also deserves, like, 10 points off 😆 113. Nancy can go to Helena's side of their room and find a postcard addressed to Hildegard, but I believe that's optional; so depending on whether you have Nancy look at it or not, it could be that Nancy remembered it also from the postcard. But this still plays if you don't look at it, sooo..... I guess Nancy has a photographic memory? lol. 115. I love Sophia, this would've been awesome if she showed up and we both went after Helena! :D 119. ...Ummmm...I dunno, you'd think a criminal mastermind would be smart enough to not tip their hand if they could help it. Lol, go figure. 121. Maybe Sophia got in contact with the local police and told them to get over there right away? Idk. 125. Ikr, that's bull, lol. I'm also adding one onto your point 88: Nancy tells whoever is on the phone with her that the police don't know she has to steal the sapphire, even if Nancy just got off of the phone with Sophia, telling her about it; Nancy lies for no reason.
Why was the phantom holding the chain and not the locket? he would be yanking it off from her neck. It looks like she took it off and handed it to him.
Yeah, the whole "dancing for money in a cat suit" thing definitely raises eyebrows. I remember playing the game on a long train ride when I was traveling in Italy, and the group I was with found that really weird when I was telling them about the game. I'm surprised there wasn't a chance to earn money by, say, learning to be a gondolier and giving tours or making Carnevale costumes/masks to sell. Also, I always find it a little disappointing that you don't actually get to interact with the city's landmarks, like the Basilica or the bell tower in Pizza San Marco, or, heck, even just walking around the islands using their little canal bridges. There's more they could have done to immerse you in Venetian culture. There wasn't even a daily newspaper to check after day 1. I did appreciate the singing gondola rides though and the people in the background speaking in Italian, especially when they talk about a certain detective xDD I wanna say there's even a background conversation where they talk about Nancy checking the street trash for money, but I'd have to replay to know for sure lolol
I think the fact that "Venetian" is spelled wrong in this game on the newspaper heading is the reason why I always doubt myself when I have to write the word out...
I just realized this during #31, but isn't that the same book that Tino Balduccci was reading in Last train to Blue Moon Canyon next to the chess book??????
i'm not sure there is a way to trigger it or if it's just random, but that's another problem. One of the achievements is for figuring out who sent the sausages, but there's no clear way how (assuming it's not just random) to trigger it, making it impossible to get all the achievements.
That is so strange! Sometimes I get new dialogue options when replaying certain games, too!I guess it's just one of the quirks of Her Interactive. Maybe it's like an easter egg?
You get the sausages by leaving the Ca first thing without opening the package, doing the dance audition, then going back to Nancy's room, again without opening the package. All this without starting the mystery. It's so weird!
I was stuck in the game just wandering around...pretty far into it...and I suddenly noticed the sausages! I couldn’t believe it, wondering how long they’d been sitting there lol I assumed that was what I was missing to continue in the rest of the game, but now I’m here and I see everyone saying they’re optional. Hmmm.
I really want to like him. He is endearing. I just can't help but think it would get uncomfortable to live underneath the same roof, as lonely as he is.
@@AGJ117 I like The Silent Spy but yes this Game is A lot better also because The Villain's reason isn't because I can which was not A very good reason
Also Colin is super creepy to Nancy the entire game.....calling her boyfriend, who gave her the locket, a "bloke" even though Colin doesn't know Nancy and just barely met her? You can't seriously be mad at her for dating someone?
"Bloke" is just slang for "guy." No different than calling a girl a "bird" or "Sheilah." It has nothing to do with being "creepy." Justin/"Colin" himself is a creep, but not because he called Ned a "bloke."
Oh c'mon, this is a parody of CinemaSins, you should know that in Sin 64, "the power of boners is stronger". I'm sure you could think of a more eloquent way to phrase it xD

sentence: Culprite foils is own plot!
As many times as I've played this game, I've NEVER seen the sausages! How do you trigger that in the game?
i'm not sure there is a way to trigger it or if it's just random, but that's another problem.
Hmmm.
@@hansbmd20 Not true. I have opened the package before all of that and still got the sausages.
has anyone actually watched colin's slideshow for hours?
I don’t want to be rude but when is the next video in this series coming out
Are all of these games based off of previous Nancy Drew books, or just some of them?
I believe they all are. Some combine multiple books, though.
I actually love Colin so much
I really want to like him. He is endearing. I just can't help but think it would get uncomfortable to live underneath the same roof, as lonely as he is.
Great vid! Just noticed this is missing from the EWWND playlist you’ve got going though. Just a heads up :)
So she talked someone she knows into having me... It does sound normal, the sentence is just a bit overloaded.
7:26
Is it "Fang-o" or "Fon-go"?
What! Samantha is a stolen alias? Shame on you, Nancy.
Don't you need to go to some kind of special school to be a federal agent? Just because Nancy solved a few mysteries doesn't' qualify her for the fbi.
What game is that? (13:40)
PokéGirl The Silent Spy
The Silent Spy. I wasn't a big fan of it.
@@AGJ117 I like The Silent Spy but yes this Game is A lot better also because The Villain's reason isn't because I can which was not A very good reason
So you’re not going to do the bloopers?
Nope
So she talks someone she knows...
Wait, this is where Zoe was? Figures.
Tanning queen
Also Colin is super creepy to Nancy the entire game.....calling her boyfriend, who gave her the locket, a "bloke" even though Colin doesn't know Nancy and just barely met her? You can't seriously be mad at her for dating someone?
"Bloke" is just slang for "guy." No different than calling a girl a "bird" or "Sheilah." It has nothing to do with being "creepy." Justin/"Colin" himself is a creep, but not because he called Ned a "bloke."
@@englishatheart i know, i was meaning that Colin's anger at Ned even existing was what made him creepy since he doesn't even know Nancy
i fuckin love this series
:50 Confirmed nancy has prophetic dreams
Oh c'mon, this is a parody of CinemaSins, you should know that in Sin 64, "the power of boners is stronger". I'm sure you could think of a more eloquent way to phrase it xD
for 47, Nancy’s notes tell you that Ned is in Bayport to so research at the hospital
I love this game
