CHICAGO BASIN COLORADO 14ERS

A trip to the Chicago basin creates an opportunity to take a steam engine train from Durango along the Animas River, backpack, and knock out four Colorado 14ers of the Needle Mountains, a subrange of the San Juan Mountains in the Weminuche Wilderness of the San Juan National Forest. Ultimately the experience allows for a Grand Slam, a chance to climb four great Colorado 14ers, namely Sunlight Peak, Windom, Eolus, and North Eolus, in a single day.
