As someone who has ridden this several times, I respect your opinion. I admit, some days it runs better than others and the ride has been going through a few technical issues this year. It was shut down for a few days this summer because of those issues. That being said, I urge you to give this ride another shot one day in the back row. I think you may end up enjoying it a lot more. As for the restraints, while I didn't mind them, I can see why they would be an issue.
Doesn't look sluggish at all that's how it always looks. The restraints were changed due to a few incidents with keeping legs inside the train and such as well as headrests. But the ride is just as smooth as it was 17 years ago!
I didn't think it was a smooth ride at all actually. All the hyper coasters I've ridden, including Behemoth, Goliath at La Ronde and Nitro were all way smoother. I wouldn't say it's rough, but you definitely feel a vibration against the track. Which you don't on rides like Wicked Cyclone, which is by the way FAR better than Superman IMO.
The on board audio was removed when they changed it back to Superman. It hardly ever worked anyways. The only real change to the trains was they swapped out the headrests for something less obstructive.
William Boyajian it used to work great but in the last couple of months before it was changed it started acting up so they replaced it with not as obstructing seats
As a former employee I can let you in on a little secret. When it's a little rainy out they purposfully slow the ride down a few MPH. Not too noticable but noticable. They do that to give the brakes extra time to bring the train to a stop. As for the restraints, there were issues with people actually falling out of the ride before the renovation to Bizzaro. They're probably too nervouse to go back to a T-bar (it was at first). The on-ride audio was only when it was Bizzarro. When it changed back to Superman they got rid of it. Thanks for visiting my home park though, maybe you'll go again and we can meet up.
Good insights here J. Betsey, thank you :) I wish Intamin played it safer and put a longer brake run in the original design, so that ride ops don't have to slow down on purpose it the rain. How awesome is it to have SFNE as your home park! Visited the place last year (I'm from France btw) and had a very fun time there :)
And how exactly would they do that? There isn't a single trim brake on the whole ride so all I can think of would be slowing the lift down, which I doubt would make much of a difference since it's already pretty slow...
Late af, but if you look at the last set of Bunny hills, there is actually a trim brake on there. Doesn't affect the rest of the ride I know, but it does make the last few bunny hills feel a bit lackluster
Taylor, this is a true story. I rode this in 2003 (kinda new at the time) with the t bars. I was blowned away like if i would rate it, it had been like an 11. I rode it 5 times and it gave me this adrenaline rush and euphoria like no other coaster since. I rode Millennium Force a year before and Superman blew it out of the water. After a dozen B&M hypers, 4 rmc's, El Toro, it is still my personal best coaster ride ever. Its been 14 years since so i can't comment on how good it is today. If it has declined, i feel kinda sorry you missed it
Ok so the lap bar isn't THAT bad but it's really the worst when they check your lap bar and mash it into your legs it hurts so bad when you should be getting air time
They have to be extra safe because of the only fatality on the ride back in the T-bar era was because of a 5"2' 230-pound man rode it and the attendant didn't check to make sure the restraint was secured, he fell out on the last turn.
Before they had those lap bars there were a lot of accidents that happened and that lap bar keeps you from flying out of the ride like what happened to someone when the lap bars weren't as secure and he died from it. It's for your safety.
The reason why it has those restrains is because someone flew out of it once and died. And the reason why you thought it had music is because back when it was bizzaro it did and it was great. When they changed it they added 2 nore seats witch was a upgrade in six flags mind. Plus it usually goes faster
YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG!!!! Here's the real accident that happened at SFNE on the ride when it was Superman Ride of Steel On May 1, 2004, a 53-year-old, 5-foot-2, 230 lb (104.5 kg) man from Bloomfield, Connecticut fell out of his coaster seat during the last turn and was killed. Reports show that the ride attendant had not checked that the guest's ride restraint was secure as his girth was too large for the T-bar-shaped ride restraint to close properly. The victim's family said that due to his various medical conditions, such as cerebral palsy, he shouldn't have been allowed to ride. The park stated that the federal Americans with Disabilities Act forbids them from denying a ride to a person with a disability as long as the person can get on the ride by themselves.
I was looking at your footage, and yeah, it was running sluggish. Also, the on board audio was for Bizarro, but got ditched for the 2016 redo. I've been trying to figure out airtime on this thing for a while and haven't gotten to close to it yet. Love the review, the restraints really do suck. Also, did you feel positive gs on the helices in the spaghetti bowl section? Those determine how sluggish it was. Sorry, SFNE's my home park, so I kinda feel proud of my turf
When it was superman when it was put in there it had different unsafe restraints like a t bar and someone died on it that's why it was bizzaro and before 2017 it has speakers
I live like 10/15 minutes away from this park, and I've ridden this ride many times, and I hate the restraints more than you do. they come down on my upper legs, and NOT my waste. so its VERY painful going over the airtime hills. The restraints, when it was Bizzaro where similar, but a bit better. (from what i can remember, its been a while) Bizzaro had on ride audio, in my opinion, the color scheme was better, but that doesn't really mean anything. Just in general, superman was a downgrade. Oh, and trust me, that queue does get pretty full sometimes.
The restraints use to be a T-Bar, and this ride was great with airtime. But after a man fell out in 2004 due to the fact that the restraint could not come down far enough because he was overweight, anyways because of that Massachusetts prevented any steel roller coasters in the state to have t-bars. And there is infact a trim brake. Overall this coaster is great, the restraints are not a major problem mostly but before people get to harsh just know the park can’t do anything about it.
As a European, is the first ever Coaster review on your channel of a coaster that I've ridden. I should really get out to more American parks EDIT: just realised that there's on of Wicked Cyclone but the point still stands
Europa Park is probably the best, I'm yet to go there but if you're coming to Europe then it's a must. Portaventura is also good, home to my #1 coaster (shambhala)
I'd recommend Phantasialand. It's got some fantastic coasters in the form of Taron, Black Mamba and next year's new flying coaster, Talocan is the best Top Spin since Tomb Raider closed, the main water rides are some of the best, the theming is straight up incredible and the atmosphere around the park is just great. Another park I love is Liseberg. Helix and Balder are two of my favourite rides and they've got a new Dive coaster going in next year too. There's also some great flats like Loke, plus it's slap bang in the middle of a beautiful city, with stunning views of the surroundings from the top of the hill in the middle of the park.
Adam No it's not that bad. Now yes there is violence on a large scale there. However it's no different to the us and mass shootings. Europe Just like the US and Canada is very very safe. If it were Burma where there is currently a genocide going on I could see your point.
You need to change your rating system. Every coaster gets an 8 or 9 even if you slate it the whole video. Considering ive never seen you rate a coaster under 5 maybe change to a a 1-5 system?
Jake Roberts that literally doesn't make a difference, cause then every coaster would get a 4 or 4.5. Look up some bad roller coasters in my playlist and there's some very low scores. I'm reviewing all the excellent coasters I rode this summer first, so that's why the scores are going to be good. Believe me, I rode some bad coasters this summer I'd give a 1.
Exactly when the coasters being rated are great their going to get high ratings. And I could be wrong but I'd guess more people would like to see and read about great coasters over poor ones. And coaster fanatics seem, in general to be more interested with thrilling coasters than family or kiddie coasters. The ten point system lets you differentiate between types of coasters and degree of excellence without getting crazy and using something like a 100 point system. I do use a 100 point system for my work, but I do a lot of statistical analysis and find it more comfortable to use.
Agreed to an extent, I think it would be a better system if he used more decimal scores instead of whole numbers/halves. 8.1, 8.7, 9.3 - something like that
This ride use to be smooth back when it first opened and the restraints were different. It use to be just a T-bar then they added a seatbelt with the T-bar at some point. Your feet also use to slide under some metal bar too. There was an accident in 2004 where someone got ejected and that could be the reason for the bulky restraints
Rode it in the back row and even with the U-bar restraint as tight as it could be I still got a decent amount of floater airtime the whole way down the first drop and camel backs. Next time I ride it, I'll ride in the front.
I grew up with this park and remember when it came out. The reason the restraints are setup as they are now is because there were two accidents involving this including a man who fell off to his death at the final bunny hill (I was there that day!). In its early years with the old restraints you felt like you were gunna fly out the entire time. It’s still my favorite coaster ever.
I rode this 3 times earlier this week, and I felt like this review was a bit harsh. Granted, I’ve not been on 300+ coasters, so I may be easier to please in this regards. My friend and I rode it in the front and back rows, and I then went back solo and rode near the back. We both felt that the airtime was killer, though there was absolutely no debating that Wicked Cyclone was the better ride. By a long shot. WC is just in a category of its own, only bested by Steel Vengeance, imo.
You rode it in 2019, after the wheels were replaced. In 2009-2018, it ran slower, especially in the second half. Those who rode it for the first time during that period tend to not have as good reviews. During those years, it was also a front row ride, unlike most hypers. For whatever reason, the slower speed didn't affect the airtime in the front row as much, but it was very noticeable in the back, which had long been considered the best seat. With the new wheels, it's running just as fast as it did when it opened, and the back row is now the best seat again.
You should try the Vekoma SLC there, I know those coasters are usually terrible but they added new restraints that makes the ride a lot better. They reduce the head banging
I haven't ridden this one since it was changed back to Superman but I rode it as Bizarro many, many times growing up. You're right on the airtime--you did get quite a bit. The onboard audio only ever worked when they first changed up the ride and then when they changed from themed audio to rock music. After that it barely worked.
Bizarro had the same restraint, they hurt my legs really bad, there's no Audio on the new trains, back when it was bizarro it had audio but the speakers were broken on some seats, not working on one train, and you can't hear it. VR was meant to be the new audio, but they removed that and put it on mind eraser. Superman has audio on the lift hill and brake run
Proud to say I rode it 6 times in a day and absolutely LOVED it!! My photo featured on ThemeParkWorldwide and I made two new friends for life! Thanks Six Flags!
This is my Home park and I love this ride. Looks very very sluggish in this video. It all depends on the day you ride it on. If you go in the fall on a cool crisp day it’s runs fast.
The reason the restraints are different are due to 2 accidents. One years ago where two trains collided in loading station due to brake failure and another on the bunny hills where a man was ejected and killed. Back in the day you absolutely were out of your seat almost the whole time! As my home park this was the ride back in the day!
I agree with the restraints, this is due to the State Of Massachusets. After an accident on the ride before it was Bizarro, they set some law on T-Bar restraints so six flags rethemed it to Bizarro and changed it to the sucky restraints
Back in it early days it was almost a 2 hour wait hence the long queue sections. I know there was an incident where someone had fallen out not sure if that’s part of why the restraints are the way they are today.
Though I might be biased since Six Flags New England is my home park, I respect your opinion. The u-brick restraints aren’t ideal, but they are far more manageable than the Zamperla Volare, Skyrush, or the SLC restraints. The T-Bars were replaced in 2004 after a man with cerebral palsy fell off the ride on the final turn. Intamin isn’t to blame, but rather poor maintenance that should’ve known that his girth was too big for the t-bar restraint. If I were to improve the restraints, I would add additional padding by the u-shaped metal bars as well as some space on the sides of the restraints to make the thigh-bruising less unbearable.
Hands down my favorite coaster for years - I rode it back when it had just the t-bar restraint, and the air time was INSANE -- the accident involving the handicapped person, which was a ride operator restraint check failure, I believe, never should have happened; he was flying out of his seat the whole ride, and people seated in back of him said they were literally grabbing his shirt to try to hold him down. The T-bar restraints on Millennium Force are pretty much what used to be on Superman at SFNE -- the new restraints are ridiculously restrictive - but this ride will always hold a special place in my heart. The Bizarro era was weird - and I didn't really like the audio component, plus I missed the Superman theme music.
So, this roller coaster USED to have the T-bar restraint. But in 2004, the T-bar restraints were outlawed in the state of Massachusetts following a death when a man was flung from his seat because the restraints apparently didn’t accommodate him. So, the restraints this coaster has NOW, the ones Taylor referred to as “stupid”, are called the “U-brick” restraints, which yes, are big and bulky and do butcher the ride some.
Hey Taylor! As an enthusiast where SFNE is my home park, i have to urge you try riding Superman in the summer time, at a night ride in a back seat. By far one of the best feelings ever. The only downside in my opinion is that I can’t get over the knee/thigh crushing from the restraints.. as someone who played football in high school, i have a really large build and it kind of limits the way i fit into rides. (I can’t fit on Wicked Cyclone yet cause of these football legs, but hopefully after i drop some more pounds I’ll make it on). The restraints on Superman are uncomfortable to an extent but you kind of forget about them while on a good ride. I’m gonna be there a lot this summer so I’d be an honor to meet you!!
yeah you're right about the restraints. it's a great ride but they literally crush your legs and they don't leave any wiggle room for airtime. i was feeling nice and comfortable in the restraints, then a ride op came around and mashed the bar into my legs. it's a great ride, just try not to get stapled.
I love this ride. I do agree that the restraints are bulky, but someone got ejected out of the ride on the final turn, and Massachusetts made an Intamin T-Bar and ordered the ride to be changed.
With this being my home park, definitely agree on the restraints. When this first opened at Superman Ride of Steel in 2000 it had the T-Bar restraint. The current restraint was put on when it changed to Bizarro and they didn't change it back when it returned to Superman. Audio was removed when it went back to Superman from Bizarro. I honestly liked it way back before it changed to Bizarro, but is still one of my favorites at this park.
I 100% with the lapbar part because sfne is my homepark and the restraints were good before the change. But that first drop and first airtime hills are still heaven
They took out the onboard audio out because when they were putting the ride back to Superman from Bizarro the speakers broke and they decided to put the speakers on Emergency Staircase instead of having to struggle with onboard audio system and put it back in the ride.
I haven't ridden on it since after the accident and before it went to bizzaro, but it was always an amazing ride and deserving of its awards. After the death they put down really annoying restraints to hold you down by your shins but it was still amazing. I need to go back and experience it.
Yes u are right that the lab bars are thigh crushers. I had that problem whenever the ride wasn't really moving. But the rest of it was so awesome that I forgot about that. And believe it or not, even with those lab bars I experienced the best and scariest and most insane airtime on any roller coaster so far! I can't imagine that on el toro! second ride in the back seat ended up being the best ride I've ever gotten on a roller coaster!
Hey taylor! Remember good-ol' Kennywood? Looks like we have a new ride on our hands! They've officially made plans to demolish the Log Jammer. As they stated on Kennywood.com the plans aren't official, but people speculate a RMC, Topper track terrain coaster, or a Raptor. It made my day my home park is going to possibly get a RMC. I don't know what else it would be. I'm praying we don't end up with a stupid little boomerang.
I was 11 in 2009, and they had the exact same restraints and I kinda got out of my seat and I got good airtime. Now that I rode this again, I got less airtime and being lifted out of my seat. I think it's because smaller people get better experiences while taller people don't really get an experience.
I used to go to six flags NE when it was bizarro and, I don’t know if it’s just because I was/am skinny and have “prominent” hip bones, but it hurt SO bad on the “airtime” (not so much airtime lmao) hills...
Yeah, I once rode it 13 times in one day (it was a REAL slow day) and then next day at school I couldn't bend down or kneel or walk down or up stairs. My thighs were so sore and bruised it was like they were sandwiched for 24 hours in a compactor. So I completely understand your opinion on the trains. They are so bulky that the airtime even hurts every once in a while.
You mentioned how the ride felt sluggish. It is true that the ride ran slower after the Bizarro retheme, particularly in the second half. This continued when it was rethemed back to Superman, until 2019 when the park replaced the wheels. Now it's running just as fast as it did in the early years. Based on another review, this was most noticeable in the back row, which had long been considered the best seat. The airtime was unchanged up front. As such, from 2009 through 2018, it was actually a front row ride, unlike most hypers. I'm guessing this confused many who rode it for the first time during that period. Now it's a back row ride again, just like it was in the early years. The on board audio only existed when the ride was themed to Bizarro, but oddly they have yet to replace the seats that were removed to install the on board audio. The speakers on the lift hill were added when it was converted back to Superman. The u bricks are not the best, but I don't hate them. I hold the lap bar so it doesn't lower during the ride. I do prefer Superman over Wicked Cyclone because the sense of speed is better, the elements more sustained, and the positive Gs are a lot stronger.
The ride was built with the T-bar you want. An enthusiast had the bar high to get air. He fell from his seat and had his hand severed by the wheels while he hung from the seatbelt. Then he was fully ejected spinning like a helicopter striking his head on a support. This fatal accident led to changes on all Intamin T-bar coasters. Rides like Millennium Force got new requirements on how low the lapbar had to go (now must hit the legs not the gut), and they got shorter seatbelts. Superman got new restraints designed to hold the rider's legs in place making it impossible for the rider to "flatten out" and escape under the bar. I rode this ride as Bizarro and it was my #1 steel till Steel Vengeance. The restraints didn't bother me so much but they might be more uncomfortable if you have longer legs. Expecting room for airtime on a coaster like this isn't realistic. All parks are trying to have a tight bar for similar rides. If you can defeat that on other rides, that is really more about you than the ride.
Will Wheaton so I watched a six flags America operations video(I mean if you watched it before) and with the vr, it takes about 8 mins or something to dispatch the damn train. But it’s fast without VR. This has VR? Because this is different then six flags America and Darien lake.
I rode this coaster back when it was the original Superman: Ride of Steel (and had the original T-bar restraints like Millennium Force and TTD) and it was a MUCH better coaster back then. The amount of airtime was insane and like nothing I have ever been able to experience on any coaster since then. The new restraints limit airtime and it feels like a completely different ride. Night and day. So, I guess I agree with you.
Can some help me understand what is the difference between this coaster and the one at SFDL? I rode the Superman at darien lake the day it opened in ‘99, still haven’t been able to go to NE and ride that Superman. But does NE win these awards and now DL? DL was the original coaster. I know this is a silly comment and question, because I’m bias but I don’t understand.
It's unfortunate you could never ride this coaster during its T-Bar days. It's still my #1 coaster since I first went on it in the early 2000's. (I've also been on Sky Rush, Intimidator 305, Millennium Force, etc. for comparison) Back then this coaster was un-freaking-believable. It absolutely deserved it's Golden Tickets back when it had the T-Bar restraint without the seat belts and all that other useless junk. It's still a fantastic ride nowadays, although I agree the restraint does hinder it from its full potential.
The restraints were redone due to someone falling out in 2004. He wasn’t secured due to human error or him being overweight. He was disabled and people complained about hi being allowed to ride, but federal law says that as long as the rider gets in and out on their own...then the park must allow them to ride.
Agreed, I wish I could've ridden when it used to have the original, normal lap bars. They are indeed terrible. I also didn't get much air. Was a massive let down. It felt a little sluggish to me as well and I expected more force. It's fun, fast and long, a top 10 Coaster for me but just barely.
I had a lot of fun on this ride! But I totally agree with you on the restraints, I got giant bruises from where it dug in during the "air time" moments
It used to have a T-bar, but after someone fell off and died, they changed the restraints due to a law put into effect by the state after the accident.
Nice! I agree though the restraints are terrible on this ride, but I'm also a large person so that's a negative for me. Can't wait for your boulder dash review.
I get airtime not the feeling like on an RMC where i have a little room because im skinny lol and i feel my back lifting up out of the seat on air time hills.
I rode this in late July for the first time and it definitely looks slower in this video than it did that day I went. And that speed definitely helped with the airtime, I couldn't complain
@@Vortex-gn1gw never thought anyone would reply to this lmao but definitely it digs into your thighs, the seat is too much of a bucket and it makes a sharp edge that dig into your thighs
Your complaints about the restraint system is understandable, but somebody did fall out of the ride in 2004 and died. He was disabled, and it was mostly on the faults of the passenger and the staff, but I can understand why Intamin would want to reinforce the restraint system after something like that.
You won't believe if I tell you that I had a dream this night in wich you had made a review of this coaster, than I woke up and there is a review in your channel! And thanks for doeing this video! Do you have any video with tips for those who are afraid of coasters?
How does this compare to the other two Intamin Hypercoasters (Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags America and Ride of Steel at Darien Lake)? For what it's worth, I ALWAYS get a rear seat for Superman: RoS at SFA
just wanted to say that the restraints are really tight because one time someone flew out of the ride and died, so theyre trying to prevent another incident. just wanted to put that out there :) also this is at my home park and sadly i didnt get to ride it cos we spent too much time in the waterpark :/ i really want to ride it, it looks awesome!
did you get it without the rattle because that''s my least favorite part of the ride but it didn't bother me and i rode it on 3 days in august where it was above 90 so i'd say the speed that time looks better than it does here
I’m only about 1 minute into the video, and I’ve got to say, you went on a very uncrowded day. Every time I’ve gone to ride Superman/Bizzaro, It’s gone from the 2nd tent, all the way to the station (I think there is 3 tents). I’ve always had to wait well over 30 minutes to ride it, and the VR idea that they had was not a good one, my mom had the Six Flags app, it said Superman was 30 minutes and it ended up being over an hour and a half long wait. But hey, lucky you, you got a walk on! Congrats!
i rode it when it was superman before bizarro and during bizzaro and id definitely say it was best as the original,I remember feeling like I was lifted off my seat the entire first drop..and I think the music back then was actually eminem playing in the headrest speakers lmao
Theme Park Crazy hello, would you be at six flags New England September 23 because that's my birthday and I'm going there for my birthday
Underrated Ethan I am legit going to SFNE the same day you are on sept 23rd. EDIT: also that's the day when fright fest begins at SFNE
Arrow Dynamics & B&M Fanboy oh ok that's amazing ! Six flags great adventure is my home park and the fright fest is pretty bad
I'm also going to Six Flags New England on September 23 too
North East Coasters Please go on September 23, The park is going to be dead because there is a festival is Springfield
Alex Leblanc Superman is intamin. Those are B&M the rattle of intamin is swapped out for the more airtime
That and it lightened the trains up a bit, it runs better than it did as Bizzaro, I remember that before you got no airtime in the twister section
Rip the bizarro song at the end. It was great while it lasted.
Can you explain how they would slow down the ride. There are no trim brakes anywhere on the ride and the Lift hill looks like 3ms
Late af, but if you look at the last set of Bunny hills, there is actually a trim brake on there. Doesn't affect the rest of the ride I know, but it does make the last few bunny hills feel a bit lackluster
Also, as an amendment to this, apparently the audio is still a thing. I guess it's just hit or miss whether or not the audio is on that day
Taylor, this is a true story. I rode this in 2003 (kinda new at the time) with the t bars. I was blowned away like if i would rate it, it had been like an 11. If it has declined, i feel kinda sorry you missed it
I remember back in 2002, being scared shitless of this ride.
Yes, I do agree with you.
Ok so the lap bar isn't THAT bad but it's really the worst when they check your lap bar and mash it into your legs it hurts so bad when you should be getting air time
Blathers agreed. I remember having that issue
My question is why the hell does it have to be so thick?! El Toro has the same kind of bars but it's like half the thickness!
Adam Smith I don't remember the thickness but not sure why...
They have to be extra safe because of the only fatality on the ride back in the T-bar era was because of a 5"2' 230-pound man rode it and the attendant didn't check to make sure the restraint was secured, he fell out on the last turn.

When they changed it they added 2 nore seats witch was a upgrade in six flags mind. Plus it usually goes faster
Garrett Thompson No that is the Superman at Darien lake. There were no casualties on this ride
YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG!!!! Here's the real accident that happened at SFNE on the ride when it was Superman Ride of Steel
On May 1, 2004, a 53-year-old, 5-foot-2, 230 lb (104.5 kg) man from Bloomfield, Connecticut fell out of his coaster seat during the last turn and was killed.
Wrong. A guy fell out in the spaghetti bowl section back in 2004.
Druuseph bet
Ty Weaver carebal palsy? I have that, that kind of scares me. Good thing mine is mild but still.
Please do Boulder Dash review, I really want to hear your thoughts on Boulder Dash
He did one!!
I think you got a slow day.
T-Bars are now illegal in Massachusetts. That's why.
Colin LaRue Gotham City Gauntlet has a T-bar and so does Pandemonium
Other rides have T bars in the same park so that is complete BS
Coaster Box they are significantly different, and the rides aren't extreme.
Coaster Box He's talking about Intamin T Bars
When it was superman when it was put in there it had different unsafe restraints like a t bar and someone died on it that's why it was bizzaro and before 2017 it has speakers
The restraints might be that way because someone fell out of this ride awhile back when they had only lap restraints.
That is the reason
If bizzaro was still around, it would be a top 3 roller coaster in the world
Bizarro had the same restraints
no way no it didn't
When I went, the restraint was at least an inch above my thighs so I actually got some great ejector airtime.
2:20 The VR FAILED BIG TIME in 2017 so they removed it the next year. Also they sped it back up to 77 in late 2018 after the VR's COMPLETE removal.
1:42 It originally opened with T Bar restraints, but an accident in the early 2000s changed that
As a European, is the first ever Coaster review on your channel of a coaster that I've ridden. I should really get out to more American parks
EDIT: just realised that there's on of Wicked Cyclone but the point still stands
TomGW and I need to get out to some European parks lol. Which ones do you recommend over there?
Adam
No it's not that bad. Now yes there is violence on a large scale there. However it's no different to the us and mass shootings. Europe Just like the US and Canada is very very safe. If it were Burma where there is currently a genocide going on I could see your point.
Ravenwing19 completely agree, there was an attack not far from me today in London but it's still so rare and it shouldn't put people off coming here
Sadly, the on bored audio was removed back in 2016 when it changed from bizzaro back to Superman.
Coaster Studios I bet you didn't like SFNE's Vekoma Boomerang and their Giant Inverted Boomerang
Ninja
They should change it back to a t bar or something because it isn't the trains fault I hope the bring back the seat belt and t bar combo
Rode it in the back row and even with the U-bar restraint as tight as it could be I still got a decent amount of floater airtime the whole way down the first drop and camel backs. Next time I ride it, I'll ride in the front.
I did multiple laps on this ride in the very back row and it was amazing. Hands down my favorite ride ever!
The ride use to operate with t-bar restraints, but they were swapped out after an accident for the bulky lap bars.
The River on the left is called the Connecticut River
Coaster studios Kenny wood is getting rid of their log flume possibly for an rmc????
Now do a coaster parody for SFNE please!!!!!
ALSO, they used to have T- Bars, but somebody flew out of the roller coaster and died. It was on the news and Massachusetts made T- Bars illegal.
Bizarro had onride audio, which was removed when it became Superman in 2016.
They were having problems with the restraints and guestsafety, so that is why the lap bars are larger now,
I'm sad I never got to ride this before Massachusetts outlawed T-bars. I've heard mixed reviews about the U-bricks
Kennywood in Pittsburgh is going to close the Log Jammer. What will take its place?
Great job with all the review Taylor, great quality man.
I'm fine with the restrains i love this ride i give it a 10
The ride was built with the T-bar you want.
0:57 it did fill up when it was bizarro, superman's operations without VR is why it never fills.
Will Wheaton so I watched a six flags America operations video(I mean if you watched it before) and with the vr, it takes about 8 mins or something to dispatch the damn train. But it’s fast without VR. This has VR? Because this is different then six flags America and Darien lake.
@@Jaxsen522 this had vr and it had operations compared to the original Bizarro. Now it has decent operations.
I have ridden this more than fifty times and it is one of my favorite rides!
FINALLY! A good, original, AND long coaster!!
It felt a little rough to me and the restraints were painful.
Holy crap my favorite Guitar Hero player growing up talking about my favorite roller coaster growing up!
HellAshes Yeah unfortunately Massachusetts banned the T-bar restraint after an incident on Superman in 2004.
yeah they had to change it after someone fell out of the ride once, however, i believe that incident was caused by human error.
Bizarro had on board audio. Superman has superman music playing when you are on the lift hill!
Yeah, I have to agree with you with the restraints, but that doesn't stop it for making my favorite coaster I've ridden.
what year did u rode it
This year in August.
I had a lot of fun on this ride! But I totally agree with you on the restraints, I got giant bruises from where it dug in during the "air time" moments
It used to have a T-bar, but after someone fell off and died, they changed the restraints due to a law put into effect by the state after the accident.
I actually got a lot of airtime on this and the restraints were fine but we got stuck in the brakes for a bit and then I felt it lol
You have ridden Superman: Ride of Steel at SFA right, those were the pre-Bizzaro trains
Miku Hat Gaming those restraints are much better
Way better
I may have missed something, but what's up with that middle car on the train only having 2 seats and some metal looking piece?
Hey! Could you please do an analysis of DC Rivals coming to Australia? I'm going on it in about a week when it opens :)
Nice! I agree though the restraints are terrible on this ride, but I'm also a large person so that's a negative for me. Can't wait for your boulder dash review.
I get airtime not the feeling like on an RMC where i have a little room because im skinny lol and i feel my back lifting up out of the seat on air time hills.
They used to have over shoulder restraints which THANK GOD they removed
why tho there aren't any loops or anything crazy it's just airtime hills
It used to run with Tbars but someone died so they changed it to those Ubricks.
I rode this in late July for the first time and it definitely looks slower in this video than it did that day I went. And that speed definitely helped with the airtime, I couldn't complain
When I rode this two years ago the restraints were awful, extremely limiting like you said but also very painful and generally uncomfortable.
My thighs hurt some much right now I just rode it 5 times
@@Vortex-gn1gw never thought anyone would reply to this lmao but definitely it digs into your thighs, the seat is too much of a bucket and it makes a sharp edge that dig into your thighs
I didn't have a problem with the restraints, and that's why this is my number 2 steal coaster.
There was onboard audio only on the lift.
The T-Bar type restraints are no longer allowed in Massachusetts after a rider was killed on the ride.
Why didn’t thy just buy the standard trains with the T-Bars when they wanted new trains? That’s what Darien Lake did in 2016 for Ride of Steel.
How does this compare to the other two Intamin Hypercoasters (Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags America and Ride of Steel at Darien Lake)?
For what it's worth, I ALWAYS get a rear seat for Superman: RoS at SFA
DukeofColumbia also, Skyrush is an intamin hypercoaster
qazwsx he's referring to the supermans... duhhh
When is the Kumba and Montu review coming out
just wanted to say that the restraints are really tight because one time someone flew out of the ride and died, so theyre trying to prevent another incident. just wanted to put that out there :) also this is at my home park and sadly i didnt get to ride it cos we spent too much time in the waterpark :/ i really want to ride it, it looks awesome!
They had to change the restraints because someone slipped out in another six flags with simular restraints
did you get it without the rattle because that''s my least favorite part of the ride but it didn't bother me and i rode it on 3 days in august where it was above 90 so i'd say the speed that time looks better than it does here
Well someone flew off during one of the airtime hills and died so that's to blame for the restraint, also the name change too i believe.
Congrats!
Thanks I was looking forward to riding this but you're saying the restraints are bad :(
i rode it when it was superman before bizarro and during bizzaro and id definitely say it was best as the original,I remember feeling like I was lifted off my seat the entire first drop..and I think the music back then was actually eminem playing in the headrest speakers lmao
