I actually invented a character that operates purely on this logic out of spite toward powerscalers and WhoWouldWin fanatics. Basically, his power relies on the duality of reality and fiction; if a character is fictional, they can't defeat him. It's basically a roundabout way of saying "he wins because I made him up and I say so"
“One question: does it have to be good?” “Six flags says: ‘of course not.’” I’m not sure what you’re on today chris, but this was by FAR your funniest video. Keep it up.
Fun fact: the word “Superman” was said 74 times in this video. This is an average of one Superman per every 9.3 seconds. This undertaking alone was super, man.
I love this series!!! I feel like it’s putting coasters who normally aren’t on the same tier together in The same ranking system, so I get to hear about coasters that are pretty obscure and janky, which is great for someone who usually only hears about the cream of the crop. That said, I second what I saw someone else say in the comments; it would be great if we could get a viper versus viper versus viper video somewhere in this series if you decide to continue it!
Six Flags alone guarantee that he could keep doing this for a long time. But beyond that, there's also coasters called "Cyclone", coasters called "Wildcat", coasters called "Roller Coaster" in some language or other...
The La Ronde skit was funny, but it was actually an appropriate name for it given it was the first inverting coaster in Canada. One thing I find amusing is that it's obvious based on names and light theming what Six Flags wants to rebrand different rides and attractions for with DC stuff but can't because they need the Six Flags branding in the park's name to use it and locals are too opposed to them renaming the park "Six Flags" anything, on top of the legal issues involved in doing so due to Quebec's language laws.
Krypton Coaster is very underrated, it gets overshadowed by Iron Rattler but it really does deliver on everything you can want on a coaster, speed, inversions, scenery and fast whippy rolls. Theming is the only real fault but honestly theming is a small price to pay for a good ride. Every part of this layout hits hard, the initial drop into the massive loop is always a grey out moment and it feels like the ride only picks up more and more speed as it continues. It does have a brake run but it barely even stops a beat and goes right into another drop picks up a lot of speed and into multiple cork screws before hitting the trim. The one thing I really like is how comfy the seats are even after 22 years of service, easily my favorite combination of seat and restraints.
9:11 I speak Spanish as a first language and i can clarify that Superman El ultimo escape doesnt translate to Ultimate escape. It would translate to Superman The Last Escape. But that sounds worse so... call it whatever you prefer
Judging solely from POV's for a bit, as the only Superman I've ridden is the one at Movie World, but it should probably have at least scraped the top 5. It's relatively short, but packs a lot into it's layout, not to mention the theming before the launch (which is more that you can say about the Six Flags coasters). As of right now, I've got it above DCR for intensity alone, but they both make a great one-two.
I think it should be 3 or 4. It's a very good launch, yes it's very short, but it's a good short, really smooth and very easy to the marathon. The restraints aren't great though, would amazing with a laptop bar restraint only.
I have Superman Escape above DC Rivals too. There's no way a B&M Looper of any kind is better. I've been on a few Superman's in the USA too and i'd rate Superman Escape at number two after Superman The Ride at SFNE. I'll hit the B&M at SFFT and Superman at SFA later this month. Can't comment on the Mexican one though, but will be doing a Morgan Steel Eel at Seaworld San Antonio in a few weeks. Perhaps the Morgan might push Superman Escape down to number three.
What would kill me is if you ranked the Batman clones (plus the 4D freespins, dark knight clones and b&m floorless, and batwing). Also Superman ege was funny
He should also cover Spinning Batman (the mini-suspended coaster from China) as it too has Batman in the name. Did I also mention there’s a city in Turkey named Batman?
Thanks for singing the praises of Ride of Steel at the 1:16 mark. I’m here to say out loud that hardly anyone that makes up the general public calls the coaster Ride of Steel even though it’s had that name longer than the amount of time it could legally be called Superman. It was a shame Six Flags sold the park and not Six Flags America because I believe the park would be in a better place if not for that. Probably recognized a lot more potential to retain guests from the D.C. market over Buffalo but the park also could have been doing better. Also, the licensing won’t be acquired again so I wouldn’t anticipate a name change, but I think it’s better for that coaster to have been Superman at some point in time than to not have been Superman at all if you get what I’m saying. It would be at #4 on your list if it still had its original name.
I went to magic mountain as a teen in the late 90's, and and they were advertising that first Superman ride, coming the next year, or something. They had a picture of it, along with the specs, and even then, it looked really pointless to me.
There’s a park in Mexico called Bosque Mágico which is closing down at the end of August, and one of the coasters there is a Premier Rides Sky Rocket II named “Zombie Ride”. Perhaps that Sky Rocket II might just get relocated to Frontier City? It might make Chris happy.
so far Escape from Krypton is my only Superman credit, but it ranks pretty high because 100mph is 100mph, no matter what the rest of the layout does. Also the queue has air conditioning. If you need some time out of the sun and a shot of easy adrenaline halfway through a long day at Magic Mountain, Escape from Krypton is your friend. I also like coasters that are loud enough to injure me
Krypton coaster sfft will always be my number 1 superman ride, the first major coaster I ever rode and the ride I worked a ridiculous amount of hours at as a ride operator. This video also came out at a perfect time because just today I was having trouble remembering which superman coaster was at which six flags. Love the video.
Legendary video, I love Superman The Ride but the floorless coasters look really good along with that Launch coaster in Australia. I’d love to see a Joker video or something

Superman Atraccion de Acero is that low because you have not rode it. It is a floorless masterpiece, with a huuuuuge floating airtime in the middle of the track, and a small abrupt airtime before the final helix. An awesome layout. And yes, you get airtime from top to bottom at the first drop. It is perfectly a top3 coaster for this list. Not 1 of course, but 2nd or 3rd maybe... Nothing to say for the rest of the list :D
I totally agree! It diserves a better position!! I used to ride this over and over again when the park opened. First drop is insane on the back row giving you that free fall feeling that you can also get in Shambala Port Aventura. Inversions on this coaster are massive and the ejector hill after the cobra roll always takes you off your seat big time. Though, lately it feels a little harsh or shaky, but not too bad. Let see what the park has to offer for the 2023 season with the new coaster which is currently under construction.

The Superman rides certainly are cursed. From brain aneurysm’s to being thrown off (they shouldn’t have let an amputee on), or the tower of power removing that young ladies feet. I know there are other incidents that have occurred on Superman themed rides. Batman has only had one bad incident but I don’t feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to hop a fence to get a hat back while a ride is active. Something don’t seem to realize is when there is a vehicle traveling super fast and you’re near them it actually will draw you towards it. I won’t break down all the physics, but the same happens with cars as well if you were to jaywalk and the car is within 3 feet of you.
Now do Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman (and yes that also includes other coasters not named Batman but are still themed to the superhero, including The Dark Knight, and even Arkham Asylum)
There’s somehow one more Superman themed coaster I know of not in the video which is Katapul the Schwarzkopf Weight Drop Shuttle Loop at Hopi Hari in Brazil. It has a Superman logo near the loop and it has also operated at Alton Towers, Jolly Roger Amusement Park, and Kings Dominion. Really fun video still though I think I’ll prefer El Ultimo Escape over Superman The Ride but who knows.
My favorite Superman ride is Superman. You know, the one called Superman with the Superman theme and all. Great ride. My favorite is Superman the ride (the one that you ranked number 1)

Now do Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman vs Batman (and yes that also includes other coasters not named Batman but are still themed to the superhero, including The Dark Knight, and even Arkham Asylum)
Skip the floorless coaster? The one at Great Adventure is the most chill calming ride there is. Love that thing.
I remember seeing it operate when it was King Kobra at Kings Dominion, though I never rode it.
My favorite Superman ride is Superman. You know, the one called Superman with the Superman theme and all. Great ride.
My favorite is Superman the ride (the one that you ranked number 1)
I’ve been on the ride of steel at SFA but I want to go on Superman Krypton Coaster at SFFT, and Superman at SFNE
