I so wanted the Atkin to come out on top, but it didn’t. It sounded too thin when compared to the CS Tele and in no way am I bandwagon jumping, but that headstock - just no! Too ungainly, and needs a prompt revisit. By the way, nice playing Sam!
I think they both sound great, the Atkin will probably be superior build quality, but as others have said, that awful headstock would put me off getting one, such a shame, as it's a big saving over the CS. If you read this Guitar Village, what setting have you got the Cornell on?
I have to agree with the others, that headstock looks at best unfinished. It looks like they got a blank and then never shaped it. Other than that I like the more modern specs on the neck of the Atkin even if the color feels wrong. I can't describe it exactly like the yellow is almost too yellow and not enough butterscotch. Sounds nice though. The inexpensive pedals were a nice touch.
I’m a big fan and owner of Atkin acoustics, but the electric range headstock is truly awful and will have huge influence on the sales, irrespective of how good the guitar might be. Serious re thinking required 🤷🏻♂️
Both beautiful guitars the Headstock on the Atkin is a put off only .needs a re look at that to sharp bulgy looking apart from that a fab guitar beautifully built I’m sure .
I got an ASAT Tribute and just swapped out the pickups for some Alnico 2s (the originals were too strident for me) and it’s a phenomenal guitar for under £500.
The Atkinson has a lot going for it but they would do well to listen to the comments made about the headstock - it could really benefit from a rethink …
Headstock on the Atkin would be a no from me. Far too large for a Tele and it looks like those replacement necks you get that are as of yet unfinished. Shame as I’m sure it’s excellent quality.
love Atkin guitars, I fell in love with a j45 type last year , but the headstock on this is hideous and so it fails the 'would I look like a funky mofo playing this test'
I've got an Atkin T-style and it's far superior to any other I've come across in the price range. The headstock outrage/nonsense in the comments is, suspiciously, ubiquitous enough to start looking like a coordinated campaign. Mine looks fantastic and is perfectly in keeping with the overall design. Get over yourselves, guys.
Tried both today, the Atkin sounds and feels better in every way except the history
The nut of the Fender looks 'off' ? 10:33. Both sound great but I would choose the Fender, even if it's just for resale price.

I was interested until I saw that headstock. That's going to kill it for them.

Attenuation mode B, All EQ at noon!!

Maybe I'd go for MiM fender or G&L and save £2k+

I don’t mind the headstock. Just sayin’.

With that headstock nobody will ever win.
fender sounds better. from the demo, i heard the copy sounding very thin and brittle especially on the bridge pickup.

I can't wait for relicking to go out of fashion
Sorry, but that head stock is awful.
