I cannot get over how fucking BLAND these maps are. There is no dust, dirt, debris, barely even proper shadows in corners. It looks so barren of fine detail. Sure, it's BIG, but otherwise it looks like something from 2012.
even bf3 maps has better visual fidelity

I’m replying to a comment from a year ago but even battlefield 3 looked (imo) tons better than this, with great map variety and that was 2011. I’d go as far as to say it would make more sense visually if 2042 and BF3 switched release dates, and BF3 was the new one

It's a shame. I loved earlier Battlefields that came out years ago, and they've gotten worse and worse since then. It almost looks like it was made by a different studio.

Whoever designed these maps should have looked for inspiration to BF1: lots of elevation, line of site breaks, trenches, flanking options, chokepoints, ect… I can’t help but look at this map and see way too much open space, with occasional boring, blocky buildings and feel like they took a step back in map complexity for this one
I was watching Neebs gaming play Zavod (from BF4) and couldn't help but think, what the hell happened? Such amazing map design and balance. BF1 took that map design to a whole new level with creative ideas, locations and geography that didn't rely on vehicles to have fun. With 2042 it feels like vehicle call in (spam) was added because the maps are so big and boring. I understand having 128 players means map design has to change, but the map designers of this game didn't seem to realize that. It's like you said: open spaces, some buildings, that's it. Not to mention almost complete lack of destruction. Talk about D.O.A.

Anyone notice the reflections don't match the skyscrapers in the beginning of the video? Might be reflections of a previous iteration of the map
There isn't even any detail on the Player animation as well, it always looks like it's float if you look down

Needed raytracing. Rtx is such a game changer for lighting. This game is a complete disaster. Its worse than blizzard going mobile in my opinion, if blizzard actually had made a mobile game lol.
It looks like a misaligned or generic skybox texture, or a missing reflection probe. As others said, RTX would fix it but its still not something I personally run

BF2042 is a failure, it doesn’t even look good. It’s a big step back, BF1 looked so amazing and was so atmospheric but BF2402 looks like an unfinished mess or well it is. It performs like crap, looks worse and plays worse.
player body animations/ragdolls after death looked perfectly fine in BF5. Now they're a mess. Don't know why they couldn't just use the system that BF5 had...
Every time they feel the need to reprogram the whole game and make a complete mess of the mechanics. They could of reskinned bf5 with modern uniforms etc, but no let’s miss out basic features and mechanics in the interests of demonstrating our complete ineptitude.
Jack I really believe that u try to see the good in the game but even with a lot of good will its hard not to be disappointed by everything this game delivered
I wouldn’t say a lot of good, but if there’s a huge overhaul and portal is more relevant then there’s a good game in there somewhere.
I have fun playing the game but there are definitely a lot of times I’m frustrated. Wether I’m on the map discarded getting shot from left right behind and center or if I’m playing with oblivious sucky teammates. I’ve grown more hate for the game recently
I just played a little BF4 today. Tried going to BF2042 after. Unless you've got an optimized PC it's actually a step backwards from BF4 lmfao.

I try to have the same approach, but it is hard. Most problematic for me is that my 8700k/1080ti really cannot run it decently when there is a little bit of action happening. I'm just not paying 1k Euros++ for a new GPU to play such a bugged/flawed game.
So happy i didn't build a new PC just for this game.
Sucks that I did. Well, at least the new PC will live up to the hype to play other games.

The ONLY gleaming hope for this game was Portal and they screwed THAT up..
Portal is fine and All Out Warfare is amazing, but there are definitely some must needed changes

I have a really hard time seeing/spotting enemies. Between the constant weather effects, dark levels with high contrast, and objective markers filling the ENTIRE screen, it is impossible to see what I am shooting at. The mini map is also broken. Player position stays on the map for far too long.
No 3d spotting is needed
Theres too many ways to be spotted in this game. From casper drones to turrets, to prox nades, to firing your weapon, to Paik. It only takes 2 caspers in light everyone up like a Christmas tree. You shouldnt be spotted when you fire your weapon. If they do keep this in it should be reduced to instant removal of spotting.
True but at the cost of action go play bf3 conquest bc2 on portal it flows better because of the 3d spotting
@@Slykillful you should pop up on the minimap if you fire your gun, but it should be instant like CoD and be a circle not a dorito.
@@MrTD714 3d spotting was the worst. It was the worst thing in bf3 and 4, why do I deserve to be spotted by someone spamming a button 150m away who wouldnt have seen me otherwise. Was so glad they removed 3d spotting and spotting when firing in bf1 and 5.

I was taking advantage of the free weekend on gamepass for my xbox one (havent upgraded yet) i only played two maps because my game would crash or not even load on other maps so i was either playing the same map over and over again on conquest or just restarting the game thank god i didnt spend $60 on this mess

Watching Jack play and I'm realizing we aren't even playing the same game lol. An optimized PC vs last gen console is fucking VR to Atari. They shouldn't have even bothered with a console version. Such a cash grab shitshow of a game.
Console is horrific. No AA feels completely and utterly smashed.
Even with the best pc out there, you arent able to play at high settings without your fps tanking. Im using a gtx 970 so mine is far from top of the line, but atleast i could play bf5 at mostly high settings while getting 100fps at 1080p, yet in bf2042 on all low settings at 900p (and on 64 player modes) i struggle to stay at 60. Its something with the servers i believe because if i play solo against bots it seems to run just fine
@@ComradeChyrk I average around 100FPS with an i7 10700k paired with a 3090 if i had an 12900k it would run considerably better. The games very heavy on the CPU.
I play on ps5 and i play exacly like Jack do, stop excuses.

I envy your persistence with this game jack, I find myself play for less than 20 mins. The imbalance of weapons and vehicles, bugs, maps and general gameplay is so frustrating that I find myself back on BF5.

Does anyone have a problem with turning on console recently? When I turn it will act like it’s supposed too, but then it will slow down to a crawl then act normal again. It’s not aim assist because I can turn it off and it still does it. They’re isn’t anyone near me when it happens. It only started after Dice did a live update. The turning is so slow when it happens that it’s unplayable for me. Everything is fine on my end and my ping is good. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Game is dead and they can't fix this, Jack barly plays it and he loves the bf franchise, just like many of us. If they ever fix this game your looking at a year or more to even start getting there.

I have to say that I'm really not enjoying the game, the maps are cringy, the team balancing is terrible and I have to play with crossplay enabled. PC players dominate the game, and they have a huge advantage on console players. The game needs a massive overhaul, the players are impossible to see, and they really need to get rid of those terrible specialists.
Bro, I agree, but just to let you know, PC and console players can’t play together. Crossplay is only between Xbox One and PS4. PC is a totally different version.

The player count, or lack thereof, speaks volumes with regard to the status of this game - DEAD. I wish folks would quit trying to prop it up. Nothing short of a total overhaul would fix it. If you love it- Great. However, the player count says there are few of you.

25:58 collector edition cards are fairly rare, but atm you "can" get a gundam themed gpu. in fact, they have a whole gundam lineup. can basically make an entirely gundam themed build including the case lol
Bf4 has the same bug where your screen wobbles but it only happened to me when I died while shooting an lmg
That knife kill at end of 2nd round of gungame had me laugh out loud. The set up that it was "gonna be tricky to get" and then the first guy you see just runs on to your knife : ) made my evening.

This game is dogshit, I just started fresh again on BF4, should have done that from the start.
I want to like this game but it boils down to being bland. It really seems like they wanted it to be solely a BR then backtracked last minute.

It depends which resolution you have.. Play 4k... Also turn off nvidia reflex.
@@Hablift I found a way before to get my GPU to 90% use in the game but after I factory reset my pc I completely forgot what I did to get my cpu to do 30% use and my GPU to do everything
