    Just tried this and wow it works great! Never thought of sanding the back side if the paper!

    Great! I really liked your narrative that encourages newbies. We encounter "oops" all the time, and you made lemonade. Excellent end product!

    ¡Hola buenas tardes Wiley! Only just discovered your channel whilst looking for white metal painting techniques. Your barrel painting video tutorial was perfect! I’m getting used to the different material terms you guys use over there and, great to see enthusiastic comments from your viewers and subscribers. I model OO scale, here in The Garage in Spain however, the scenic item construction techniques work perfectly for me. As ever, take care and, stay safe. Un saludo. Gary

    The rip gives it some real life wear and tear character.

    Awesome technique. What is the siding made of?

    • @WileysScaleModeling
      @WileysScaleModeling  5 лет назад

      It's actually made from cut up thin chipboard, just sponge painted to look worn and rusted & weathered the way it appears. Thin like a cereal box thickness cardboard, and cut into scale sizes about 4'x8' to scale.

      @@WileysScaleModeling ,thin chipboard, when you say chipboard do you mean MDF or OSB boards?

    • @WileysScaleModeling
      @WileysScaleModeling  5 лет назад +1

      @@seanspennywisemiserrr Yeah, when we reference chipboard we're just talking about cardboard... Basically it's the cheap cardboard that cereal boxes are made from.

    Do you use laser or ink printer for those sign? I guess that ink printed signs will be pretty messed up when wet.

      We actually use an inkjet! Ours doesn't run much and we think it's because it's a heavier glue than water mix.

      I've not yet try to sandpaper down the signs. But I tried printing on silk paper, a technic that Luke Towan/ boulder creek railroad used in a Video.
