There were a couple of blink-and-you'll-miss-it clues to Jesper being a durast in season 1 - if you go back and look at his fight with the heartrender, after he manages to shoot him in the same spot the heartrender starts to say "You're a - " and then Jesper shushes him and knocks him out before he can finish it. He also repaired Kaz's cane offscreen and Kaz looks at his cane suspiciously afterwards, because he's figured it out!
A not so quick, maybe mildly spoiler thing about Matthias's past which I think they should have brought up sooner because it's kinda important. Obviously 2 wrongs don't equal a right, but you keep talking about how Matthias kills people just for being Grisha which yes he does turn them over for trial knowing they'll be killed and obviously a no no. But Matthias grew up on horror stories about Grisha witches who would come murder you and your family...and then they did. His parents and baby sister were murdered, presumably right in front of him, and his whole village burned in a Grisha raid. They weren't military, just a normal village with normal people. The scary Grisha stories were able to be maintained for so long because many were true (and many not). Exaggerated obviously but the Grisha are not totally innocent in this fight. Matthias (I think he was a preteen but it never specifies) was then taken in by a sick, evil general who offered him revenge for his family. He was stuck in an army with a bunch of other little boys whose families were probably also killed by Grisha or at least had all those scary stories. It was crazy amounts of cult mentality, fear tactics, religious extremism, and abuse that went into it with no one and nothing to offer any other way of thinking. In the books, Matthias and Nina weren't nearly as lovey dovey so fast. Matthias learned how human she really was during their time stranded, and thought that if the Druskelle wrong about that, what else were they wrong about? Plus the "betrayal" was so much harsher in the book. Poor boy didn't even speak the language and never knew what happened or why she did it
@Rhyan Shelby Thanks for the information on Matthias this has helped me greatly it gives me greater context and a better perspective on his character it actually makes me look forward to seeing more of him and hopefully Season 2 does a better job developing his character especially for those who have not read the books.

Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
