IIRC, I believe I've heard the bars at 0:54 referred to as a "pedestrian maze" or something like that before. I've also seen a few signals where the gate arms will lean on the wind guards (if there are any to begin with), and other cases where the wind guards are broken or otherwise useless. In one case though, the gate arm (which is rather long, and is about three stories tall) leans because it appears that the entire gate mast is leaning! Though the leaning gate mast appears to have been due to a bad foundation for the gate mast when it was installed about 4-5 years ago.

Joe Jones those boxes between the tracks detect cars/pedestrians in the crossing, he got too close to the gate and they opened to leave him out, if he was inside the barriers
