I feel like the NTX one is actually a rare moment in K-pop where it was cultural appreciation not appropriation as they weren’t making fun of the cultural outfits and were instead wearing them specifically to show love for the different cultures

spite its messy its very easy to point one of the reason why i can be famous. First, listening to the song is monotone, its almost the same near of all BP's song, at least jennie and rose actually have their own styles but since its monotone and recycled only it became big because most of BP's song is in purpose to literally sound a lot more western. It's nothing on the artist, they do their best with what they are given, it's the companies and producers. Sometimes I think it's a cycle, fans want to support the artist, cause they know how hard they work and how hard it will be on them if the song doesn't do well, even when they don't like the song, companies make money and it reinforces that they are doing well/don't need to put more work into the songs, so they make more like that, and the cycle starts again.

Ok let's talk about NTX since I kept scrolling down but I saw no one talking about them. This is my first time hearing about them, so I immediately went and checked them out... honestly, in my opinion ( which might trigger a lot of people) I was glad to see them wearing my country's traditional clothing 🥰. I took a peek on some of their other stuff as well. * Anyways I personally think that the culture appropriation "excuse" shouldn't be a thing, people should be able to wear clothes of other cultures ( just like we listen to K-pop music and enjoy it even though most of us are not Korean) clothes could unite us as well. Conclusion is: I don't think they deserve to be hated. With all the potential they were showing, NTX deserved better 😢😔

Obviously not the only one. It's a fun song and the video is fantastic. So many highlights. The really cool entrance alternating between the elegant gown and the really cool heavy metal jacket. Lisa's singing in the "burn, burn, burn" part. (I'd like to hear a song where she explores that style more. The "Polisa" scene. The pole dancing. The Thai queen scene. People are really straining their brains trying to hate on it. It's like a buffet sampler of really cool sides of Lisa. Of course she couldn't please everyone. But she made a lot of people happy. She only really gets one shot at a solo title song. (Who knows if she'll ever get another shot for several more years). So I think she chose to go with a song that lets her do a little bit of everything instead of just narrowing it down to one or two things. If she had 4 or 5 songs, she probably could have done one that focuses more on just intense rapping, one that focuses on a wild dance break, one that optimizes her vocals and so on. I think she did fantastic. And it's really a joke that some people are trying to call it a "flop". I guess that's what they were hoping for lol.

I have seen various people having different opinions about LALISA. Music taste differs person to person. If you don't like a song doesn't mean that the song is worst or you have a great taste cuz there are actually people who liked it. I have no problem with constructive criticism but some are just sugercoating hate as opinions. Haters are taking advantage of it & i have seen them camping under the comment section of those vedios who disliked Lisa's solo. I see no issues with LALISA and MONEY. The songs are very, very catchy that they stuck in my head even on the first listen. I admit that the lyrics are not as deep as OTG and SOLO but it is just the way the songs go with her personality. Lisa is bubbly and straightforward. Therefore, she chose the songs that fully and strongly represent herself and not talking about deep emotions and love. I have to agree that lyrics wise those songs are not strong contenders for composers of the year award...LOL! But, in terms of melody those songs are amazing, catchy and most importantly marketable. Well, apparently, South Korea is missing out the GOAT since those two songs actually did very well climbing the charts worlwide. Many youtube reactors and new kpop lovers fell in love instantly with LALISA and MONEY. I've seen almost all lisa's reaction videos and i can count with my left hands those who are not fond of LALISA and MONEY. Hence, i don't see why it is a flop, taken into consideration that the whole production is well received elsewhere.
Pop songs are not deep. SOLO was no deeper than Lalisa. OTG had a thought that people like (everything I need is on the ground). But beyond that, the lyrics aren't super deep, even though there is a somewhat ambiguous story in the lyrics about someone finding that fame and fortune is not what it's cracked up to be. This is of course a fairly standard sentiment. (You can find it in all kinds of country and western song lyrics.) Lalisa is intended to be fun and catchy. It's a bop. It's a celebration of Lisa's persona in a way, which is what a lot of her fans wanted. I don't really understand why some people are disappointed that they couldn't find profound life-changing philosophy in the lyrics. People who are looking to pop music to be their source of deep thoughts and inspiration and then complain about not getting that in pop song lyrics are truly nuts.

I love Lisa and believe she's extremely talented as a dancer, rapper, and singer. The song fits her perfectly and the most important thing is that *she* likes the song she debuted as a soloist with. Sadly, both 'LALISA' and 'Money' aren't really my type of songs and I think LALISA is hard to listen to many times in a row, *BUT* that does in no way mean I don't support her as a soloist nor does it mean I think her songs are flops. Lisa is extremely popular, and that's because she's extremely talented, hardworking and deserves the recognition she gets. Some people need to understand not everyone can like a song, but just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean the artist doesn't have talent and the song deserves to be a flop. There are some songs I don't like that come from groups/soloists I love (like aespa, itzy and IU), but I still support them and believe their popularity is due to how talented and hardworking they are. Hating on them because I don't like one or maybe a couple songs is *stupid*. It's not the artists' fault if I dislike a song of theirs, they can't appeal to everyone, always.

Lisa got the global charts but not the main Korean ones , a star like Lisa even without promotions should top all korean charts but Koreans simply dint like her solo project. She lacked on digital scores which depends on korean fans corect me if im wrong.
Well, what a lot of international fans don't know is that when Lisa's song dropped it was competing with a sentimental ballad ("Traffic Light" by Lee Mujin) that was already very popular in Korea, as it had already been promoted, promoted, promoted HEAVILY on several top Korean TV shows for almost 3 months. So of course it had a huge lead in digital scores in Korea. The only way that Lisa could have beat it in digital scores (which is the category that counts the most in shows like Inkigayo) would be to get to number 1 on the Korean charts for several days. So, yeah, you are right. It pretty much was decided by the general public in Korea. (Korean fans still helped get her on top in Korean voting, but that wasn't enough to overcome Lee Mujin's digital score.) Of course the general public wasn't likely to give huge support to Lisa especially against a Korean sentimental ballad promoted on all the TV shows that the general public watches (like "Begin Again"). I think timing had a lot to do with it. If she had been up against one of the usual idols or idol groups, she probably would have won more awards on Korean TV shows. But she ended up having to compete with a heavily promoted ballad that had become like a popular autumn theme song for the general public.
TBH, I think getting the global charts was more important for Lisa. Her fan base is really international and global. If it had been the other way around, I wouldn't have been happy with the result. I am happy overall with the fact that she probably massively increased her global fan base, fame, popularity and recognition with this debut. It wasn't a "flop" in any sense. Not winning on Inkigayo is trivial compared to winning on youtube, i-tunes and just about every global platform.

Exactly! She may only get one solo album (only two songs) during her time with Blackpink. So I think it made perfect sense to do one song that lets her play and perform a broad range, singing, dancing, rapping, cute style, etc. and one song that explores a stronger hip-hop style and stronger dancing overall (Money). Lalisa was made for her fans and, fortunately, there are a lot of them. As one of them, I enjoyed every scene in the M/V and the part of the song that goes with each scene.

Honestly, most of the time knets seem like the most intense fans in all of the music industry, I’ve never seen any fanbase of any music genre in any country be so harsh, rude, intense and sometimes downright hateful towards artists, I mean they go as far as harass them to the point of suicide, like Sulli and Goo Hara, and take it out on those who don’t deserve it. Why attack the artists when the companies are the ones making the choices? The South Korean government should like impose a law only allowing kpop trainees from 17 (intl age) years old and above to debut. That way they get to train more, sharpening up their skills while simultaneously being able to enjoy their childhood.

I feel like the NTX one is actually a rare moment in K-pop where it was cultural appreciation not appropriation as they weren’t making fun of the cultural outfits and were instead wearing them specifically to show love for the different cultures

Lisa album actually are big risk. Thank gosh she is Lisa, her records set as a soloist and female K pop is so big though. First she suprass BP in first week sales, Second she suprass BP in Shazam, third she tied with BP in most I tunes, fourth she beat BP in monthly listeners with just two songs. It's nothing on the artist, they do their best with what they are given, it's the companies and producers.

Obviously not the only one. It's a fun song and the video is fantastic. So many highlights. The really cool entrance alternating between the elegant gown and the really cool heavy metal jacket. Lisa's singing in the "burn, burn, burn" part. (I'd like to hear a song where she explores that style more. The "Polisa" scene. The pole dancing. The Thai queen scene. People are really straining their brains trying to hate on it.
It's like a buffet sampler of really cool sides of Lisa. Of course she couldn't please everyone. But she made a lot of people happy. She only really gets one shot at a solo title song. (Who knows if she'll ever get another shot for several more years). So I think she chose to go with a song that lets her do a little bit of everything instead of just narrowing it down to one or two things. If she had 4 or 5 songs, she probably could have done one that focuses more on just intense rapping, one that focuses on a wild dance break, one that optimizes her vocals and so on. I think she did fantastic. And it's really a joke that some people are trying to call it a "flop". I guess that's what they were hoping for lol.

I have seen various people having different opinions about LALISA. Music taste differs person to person. If you don't like a song doesn't mean that the song is worst or you have a great taste cuz there are actually people who liked it. I see no issues with LALISA and MONEY. The songs are very, very catchy that they stuck in my head even on the first listen. I admit that the lyrics are not as deep as OTG and SOLO but it is just the way the songs go with her personality. Lisa is bubbly and straightforward. Therefore, she chose the songs that fully and strongly represent herself and not talking about deep emotions and love. I have to agree that lyrics wise those songs are not strong contenders for composers of the year award...LOL! But, in terms of melody those songs are amazing, catchy and most importantly marketable. Well, apparently, South Korea is missing out the GOAT since those two songs actually did very well climbing the charts worlwide. Many youtube reactors and new kpop lovers fell in love instantly with LALISA and MONEY. I've seen almost all lisa's reaction videos and i can count with my left hands those who are not fond of LALISA and MONEY. Hence, i don't see why it is a flop, taken into consideration that the whole production is well received elsewhere.
Pop songs are not deep. SOLO was no deeper than Lalisa. OTG had a thought that people like (everything I need is on the ground). But beyond that, the lyrics aren't super deep, even though there is a somewhat ambiguous story in the lyrics about someone finding that fame and fortune is not what it's cracked up to be. This is of course a fairly standard sentiment. (You can find it in all kinds of country and western song lyrics.)
Lalisa is intended to be fun and catchy. It's a bop. It's a celebration of Lisa's persona in a way, which is what a lot of her fans wanted. I don't really understand why some people are disappointed that they couldn't find profound life-changing philosophy in the lyrics. People who are looking to pop music to be their source of deep thoughts and inspiration and then complain about not getting that in pop song lyrics are truly nuts.

I love Lisa and believe she's extremely talented as a dancer, rapper, and singer. The song fits her perfectly and the most important thing is that *she* likes the song she debuted as a soloist with. Sadly, both 'LALISA' and 'Money' aren't really my type of songs and I think LALISA is hard to listen to many times in a row, *BUT* that does in no way mean I don't support her as a soloist nor does it mean I think her songs are flops. Lisa is extremely popular, and that's because she's extremely talented, hardworking and deserves the recognition she gets.
Some people need to understand not everyone can like a song, but just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean the artist doesn't have talent and the song deserves to be a flop. There are some songs I don't like that come from groups/soloists I love (like aespa, itzy and IU), but I still support them and believe their popularity is due to how talented and hardworking they are. Hating on them because I don't like one or maybe a couple songs is *stupid*. It's not the artists' fault if I dislike a song of theirs, they can't appeal to everyone, always.

I like both Lalisa and Money but the main problem for majority of fans was THE HYPE , it was way too much like for real too much . Lisa got the global charts but not the main Korean ones , a star like Lisa even without promotions should top all korean charts but Koreans simply dint like her solo project.
She lacked on digital scores which depends on korean fans corect me if im wrong.
Well, what a lot of international fans don't know is that when Lisa's song dropped it was competing with a sentimental ballad ("Traffic Light" by Lee Mujin) that was already very popular in Korea, as it had already been promoted, promoted, promoted HEAVILY on several top Korean TV shows for almost 3 months. So of course it had a huge lead in digital scores in Korea. The only way that Lisa could have beat it in digital scores (which is the category that counts the most in shows like Inkigayo) would be to get to number 1 on the Korean charts for several days.
So, yeah, you are right. It pretty much was decided by the general public in Korea. (Korean fans still helped get her on top in Korean voting, but that wasn't enough to overcome Lee Mujin's digital score.) Of course the general public wasn't likely to give huge support to Lisa especially against a Korean sentimental ballad promoted on all the TV shows that the general public watches (like "Begin Again"). I think timing had a lot to do with it. If she had been up against one of the usual idols or idol groups, she probably would have won more awards on Korean TV shows. But she ended up having to compete with a heavily promoted ballad that had become like a popular autumn theme song for the general public.
TBH, I think getting the global charts was more important for Lisa. Her fan base is really international and global. If it had been the other way around, I wouldn't have been happy with the result. I am happy overall with the fact that she probably massively increased her global fan base, fame, popularity and recognition with this debut. It wasn't a "flop" in any sense. Not winning on Inkigayo is trivial compared to winning on youtube, i-tunes and just about every global platform.

Exactly! She may only get one solo album (only two songs) during her time with Blackpink. So I think it made perfect sense to do one song that lets her play and perform a broad range, singing, dancing, rapping, cute style, etc. and one song that explores a stronger hip-hop style and stronger dancing overall (Money). Lalisa was made for her fans and, fortunately, there are a lot of them. As one of them, I enjoyed every scene in the M/V and the part of the song that goes with each scene.

Honestly, most of the time knets seem like the most intense fans in all of the music industry, I’ve never seen any fanbase of any music genre in any country be so harsh, rude, intense and sometimes downright hateful towards artists, I mean they go as far as harass them to the point of suicide, like Sulli and Goo Hara, and take it out on those who don’t deserve it. Why attack the artists when the companies are the ones making the choices? Knets are supposed to be the ones with the most knowledge on this stuff and it seems the total opposite, almost as if they blinded themselves to the facts. What if their contracts forbid the artists from refusing to do certain things or even speak up for themselves?
Also the hate on Honey Pop for being JAV actresses seems too sexist for me. I've been a BLINK since their pre-debut era. But watching them since then, especially Jisoo. I personally think that Rosé's debut is still better than the other girls' debut songs because it's far from BLACKPINK'S image, which is girl crush, b@d@$$ and EDM genre.
