Jordan Love proved me (absolutely) wrong.

- Jordan Love proved me absolutely wrong. After I made a video about his slow start in October, Love went scorched earth and torched my terrible take. He improved at extending the play, improved his pre and post snap processing, and Matt LaFleur figured out how to coach the entire team just.. better. How did Love turn it around and where was I so wrong? This week’s episode uses the coaches all 22 to analyze Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love.

We are firmly in the middle of the offseason boys, what are some topics you’re hoping to see in the next few months? Drop them below!
Would love to see you break down a teams entire draft, how you think players will fit into the scheme their drafted and how you think each team did overall
Can you explain to me like I'm 5 how the eagles might have a decent pass defense this year 😅
Maybe a video on how CJ Stroud torched defenses on 3rd downs and when he was being blitzed? A rookie should not have been as accurate and as composed as he was, but his passer rating and 3rd down conversion was elite.
Maybe something about how the cowboys always have a sick roster but always underperform
Great video, I think a series on the different NFL run games. A lot of videos are done on the passing game.
_Soon, we’re going to have two entire generations of Packer fans who have never seen anything less than a franchise QB for a whole season._
You’re jumping the gun a bit. Franchise QB after one good season? Relax bruh. Good luck to the kid tho.
Hey. We had a few scary weeks in there. The first half of last season was brutual. Rodgers broke his collarbone at some point. It’s tough being us
@@Akkbar21 I mean you don't see his production falling off do you?
@@Akkbar21Jordan Love was the best quarterback in the NFL from week 10 on. That shit doesn’t happen on accident
@@maskedman5657 I dunno.
That 2 month rebuild was the longest time of my life.
Unironically is so unfair compared to All these other teams I was in the depths for 7 games lmao and now we are back
🤣🤣🤣 Never have I seen in my life a QB called a bust and franchise QB in the same season🤣 For real, when has that ever happened? That was the biggest jump in a year I've ever or probably will ever see in my lifetime from a QB. Jordan Love baby💪 P.S. Im glad I was wrong about the Love pick. I've only punched a hole in a wall one time in my life and it was when Gute drafted Love that year, lol. Gute has balls the size of King Kong for making that pick considering everything that was going on with our need at WR and Aaron's ego
Imagine being a bears fan lmao 💚💛
@@sambrinn5606 The irony is Love was a Lafleur pick mostly. Lafleur was scouting Love before he even landed the Packers HC job. I forget the exact connection but something like Lafleur's old college roomate was one of Love's college coaches or something like that. Tyler Dunne talked about it in one of his articles about Love. If not for Lafleur, I doubt Love ever gets picked. That being said, Gute does deserve all the credit for pulling the trigger.
rashee rice style 😭
Snuck it in 😂

Respect for coming back to that video you made and addressing it
Next when Trey Lance starts to ball out he’s gonna do the same thing and regret the video he made on him
@@patek9789brother this is insane coping
@patek9789 genuinely asking do you think he will secede dak Prescott and become a franchise qb? What is your basis?
@@twisteddemon1266 I’m not sure if he will run Dak out of the Cowboys he’s been playing good ball and the Cowboys are very loyal to him but I do think he can be a franchise Qb for quite a bit of teams. He just needs to play consistently I seen him get better every single game including pre seasons.

"100 mph rashee rice style" 😭😭
It was refreshing to see a young qb finally succeeding in his organization
Also nice to see a qb who didnt instantly start as a rookie and was seen as a project guy pan out and be a successful project thus far
@@arsenalforlife9424 I feel like that is a major problem for teams like the jets, they throw them into the fire with little to no help.
@@grob887 Most teams do that. Its tragic. Quarterback should be like an apprenticeship, where guys dont go on the field till they're actually ready. Quarterback development is about getting them to reach their ceiling and sitting them for a year or 2 is the best wait to get them to reach their ceiling.
@@williamhermann6635 that’s what happened to Patrick, he learned from Alex smith who wasn’t afforded the same privilege. Heck even Brady was a backup for a year
@@grob887 Same with Favre, Rodgers, Rivers, Palmer, etc.
The Packers issues early on in the season were moreso on the receivers being young and not being crisp in their routes. Once that began to change the results improved vastly
100% this. Love obviously had some struggles he had to get through too, but it was the entire offense that needed to get it together. I respect the fact that even on plays where the receivers made Jordan look dumb by running a wrong route, he never once blamed them in the media for it. (so many of his early ints weren't even on him) Just took responsibility and moved on. Such a great show of leadership and to me is one of the reasons they were able to turn it around.
@@RalphKetchumthere were receivers running wrong routes on a weekly basis until the midseason. Sometimes multiple times in a single game alongside drops. If you don’t think the receiver troubles were a big issue you must’ve been watching different games than I was. Yes lafluer had Jordan love shackled for a while and that hurt too but the improvement in the routes was the big one.
Genuinely go back and watch a couple of those early games. Hell even that amazing throw against Detroit was a wrong route by Watson. The amount of times that the receivers were way too close to each other is gross
Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre all extended plays and thew off their back foot. Having been the only franchise in NFL history to have three quarterbacks back to back train each other. This style is very specific to the QB lineage of the Packers Style. One big thing the packers had trouble with throughout the beginning of the season was closing out games, after the Saints game when Jordan love overcame one of the best defenses in the NFL this is when he started throwing less interceptions and taking the league by storm
Saints was week 3 I thought. Love didnt really become who he is until after Thanksgiving
He's gotta win a super bowl or mvp before i take him seriously
@micahwilliams1826 such a brain dead take. Is Herbert not serious? Or Josh Allen? There's many, many players who should be taken seriously just for being towards the top or having promise even. In this game you overlook teams/players at your own risk

No one could have saw that coming.
Not really pal
Completely different person in the second half, was that when he was losing to Tommy Devito and a bad Giants team, or when he was throwing yet another fourth quarter pick to cost his team the game?

@@GwendolynStaheliah spoken like a true Packer hater 😂
@@GwendolynStahelicry , where was your team at ?
I think one of Love's biggest strengths is what he and his teammates and coaches describe as being "never too high and never too low" in terms of his emotions and composure. It's what not only allows him to brush off a bad play or keep focus after hitting it big, but I'm convinced it's what allows him to throw dimes off platform even when someone like Parsons is barrelling down on him.
Cold as ice, incredibly talented and seemingly a great leader to this offense. That's my QB. GPG!
I remember that video you made and it was spot on, I agreed with it fully. Love just really got his stuff together, and that young WR core really blossomed into a solid group. Kudos to Love's improve progression, hopefully more to come from him.
Great visual work in this video. Like the bits of moving different guys around and showing the routes, it all looks super clean.
Just like Stroud and Herbert. And if I'm not mistaken Tua. But hey we all get are QB predictions wrong. I thought Drew Lock was the guy.

Finally! Was waiting on this video
Great video! It was tough early in the season, but he really bounced back, and made some incredible throws down the stretch of the season
Amazing to see the turn around so quickly. Go pack go.
As a Packers fan I’m very excited to see what Love can do with all these young pass catchers in year 2 as a starter and what these rookies do in year two of the offensive system. GO Pack GO! I was sold on Love after the Chiefs game he had to play in with Rodgers out because Covid. But the Eagles game in 2022 convinced me Love could be in the upper half of the league in terms of QB play. Hope we continue to see him improve and thrive in Green Bay.
was waiting for this one
Excellent graphics!
I guess the Packers have won Super Bowls with Bart Starr, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. I guess Jordan Love would be the first without at least one repeating character in his name.
This is amazing as a day one supporter, thank you
Nothing wrong with your evaluation the first 10 weeks he didn’t look good indeed. Completion percentage was dead last with Bryce, his deep ball was bottom in the league, had awful game ending ints that killed the team vs raiders, broncos and steelers. Plenty more terrible things he was doing until the chargers game.
Packer fans: What’s an avg QB like?
😂 insane farve, Rodgers, and love ❤️
Watching Jordan Love is must-see TV. Great stuff alex
Tom Clements is the unsung hero in Green Bays success at quarterback. He groomed and transformed both Rodgers and Love into NFL studs. Getting to sit and watch a hof mvp caliber player for a couple years is also invaluable for a young quarterback.
Nah. Matt Lafleurs playcalling is. Love isn't good. Rodgers(esnecially first half of his career) was top 5 all time.
2:18 "Especially when it's Parsons flying 100 MPH at you Rashee Rice style"
i lol'd irl
Great video
As I always emphasize because it is true: most young quarterbacks take time. Problem is there’s very little patience for that these days and both the league and fans are eager to throw guys on the scrap heap after limited opportunities.
That's partly due to the emphasis on running QB's which half the teams seem obsessed with, if your running like a RB your career will be as long as one.
the star wars projections are awesome :)
Good job Alex
“It’s time to start thinking title time in title town.” Bro got me hype with that line! LFG!!!
That Star Wars hologram type of edit at 6:03 is a really cool visual
A strong arm for a quarterback can make up for a lot of weaknesses. Like you say Jordan is really good throwing off his back foot. Now I don’t think a QB should make a living from it - it’s harder to be consistently accurate - if you don’t have a strong arm the ball will simply flutter in the wind and get picked. Obviously a strong arm makes tight-window throws more possible as well as the ball gets there quicker and the DB has less time to react. But Love is on his way it appears. I have Green Bay as a Dark Horse in the NFC this year.
The back foot throw and off balance throws seem to be a GB staple. I think they can pull off teaching QB's this because of how they acquire them. Most teams are looking for the guy who can play now. Packers are looking for the guy with the raw talent they can develop. They also sniped deals picking QB's in the 20's
Part of your assessment was right. But the circumstances regarding that Packers offense in the middle of the season had several variables including that adjustment period where LaFleur the play caller was trying to get Love and the offense on the same page. Along with younger players in the receiver group. So if anything it was just a textbook progression to see it all come together late into October and to November. In the end LaFleur bet on the right things about Love's strengths.
Rashee Rice Style 💀💀
What a great story for Love! Loving all these young QBs taking over! What a time for football!
Respect 💚💛
We'll see this year if he can remain consistent. He's shown he can be a good QB lets see if he can STAY a good QB.
It’s a good time to be a Packers fan. I’m looking forward to the season!
You're not alone dude! 😎
*The NFC North has the potential to be a QB division if everything goes right*
Jordan Love
Jared Goff
Caleb Williams
JJ McCarthy
The fact that Jared Goff is the best on this list is just an amazing testament to how he revamped his career.

this was perfectly timed because i already forgot about how good this stretch from Love was
Extending plays and downfield passing was all over his tape at Utah State though
Thanks for breaking down what makes him one of the better qbs in the league
What makes him a good quarterback is his protection. If that changes and pressure starts to mount you will see the quarterback you saw in the 4th quarter against the 49ers.
genuinely the perfect jordan love/packers breakdown absolutely beautiful
the rasheed rice comment tho 😂
QB percentage is not necessarily indicative of QB play. Throw aways (instead of throwing picks) and drops need to be taken into consideration.
Did you just..... Call yourself out? Props.

Was that Eddie lacy at 0:19 ?
Lmao the random violation on rashee rice 😂
🗣️ LOVE ERA!!! 💯💯
I have been a Packer fan my whole life but only recently have I been really been trying to learn more about the team and this video was so well done and thought out it made me have a new perspective on our upcoming QB! So excited for this season!!! GO PACK GO!!
Through all controversy I kept my belief and it feels so good he was always this player just needed to tweak things. GO PACK GO
I personally haven’t seen a QB improve so much during a season. To see where Jordan Love was at the beginning of the season, compared to where he was at the end of the season, is incredible. That just tells me Jordan Love just needed more experience and reps and has all the tool to be a phenomenal QB in the NFL!
If u stopped drinking you would of realized he was good even in his first few games
i saw and knew
Week 9 at Pittsburgh was the turning point for me. They lost still and it wasn’t a perfect day for Love. But you saw a comfort level and swagger that was missing early on. He’s a fade away shot artist, and is absolutely what most of the greats do nowadays. Theres too many freak pass rushers to need a perfect pocket to run a modern NFL offense. It’s what separates the elite passers from the rest.
As a cowboys fan....it's good to see him grow and even got the Packers winning one even next 2 years
You Love that? YOU LOVE THAT?!??!
2:20 💀💀💀💀💀💀
Love showed flashes early and then put everything together Thanksgiving game on.
I was a nay sayer of Love as well but he proved me wrong.
Should have been in the Bowl
Great video Alex. I havent spoken since the game. They've instatutionalized me. No im just kidding. I havent spoken about the Super Bowl since it happened. That illegal blocker for the Chiefs - Lineman Downfield wasnt called. He was affecting the play as well. He was in the face of the Dbacks. I get the whole 'dont make calls that change the Super Bowl' but it was a clear foul. Had they called it woulda been a 10 second run off and the game ends and Niners win. I know sour grapes, cry cry.
Bro had too print a retraction 😂
Pretty sure I was pretty vocal on all the Love hate videos I saw at the time. It felt like everyone was conflating results with his actual production. He was always processing fast and making great decisions pre and post snap. As long as he kept doing that, it was bound to click eventually. Watching the film he both passed the eye test and didn't look confident at the time.
Considering that they spent a first and a fourth round pick on him in the middle of a championship window, I'd say that he has to at least make a Super Bowl, if not win one, in order for the pick to be justified.
That's assuming that Rodgers can continue to play near his peak level for the next 5 years or so. Because it's definitely worth it if they get a long term franchise Quarterback out of it. It's like saying the Rodgers draft wasn't worth it until they won the super bowl.
@@natewagstaff2516 Not really. The Packers lost the 2020 NFC Championship Game, which was absolutely winnable for them. The next year they lost a close game against the 49ers in the divisional round and would only have had to beat the Rams, whom they had already beaten that year, to make a Super Bowl against the Bengals, whom they also had already beaten that year. Nobody can say for certain that the Packers would have made or won a Super Bowl in either of these years if they had used that first and fourth round pick for other players, but there's a very good chance that they would have.
@@monophthalmos9633Rodgers choked in the 2020 NFC CG and would have with a rookie WR too you mean? FTFY
@@jessecook3378 Sure, Rodgers didn't play well enough at the end of the game and I'm by no means stanning for Rodgers, but there's a lot of blame to go around. The Packers' secondary struggled mightily and they had a hard time running the ball.
Last thing I need is another awesome Packers QB terrorizing the NFC. 😅
Well, you mentioned Love throwing off his back foot a lot while finding success. He's probably the best I've ever seen with that gesture too. Montana did it surprisingly well with his limited arm, and I remember Garcia doing it in games with a fair share of success. Due to Love's immense physical talent it looks more deadly. This kid scared the heck out me in the divisional round. He's going to get better. Especially once the Packers improve his surrounding cast. NOT IDEAL FOR ME. 😭😭😭
As the Falcons are calling it "The Packers model". Jordan Love, by the time he took the field, was FULLY equipped to handle everything, to perform without thoughts, everything being second nature, confidence present but not a concerning forethought of projection, just free flowing action. The Panthers and I would even say Houston are consistently doing it WRONG and have been since those teams were brought into the league. Chicago and Cleveland are the model that NO ONE should be aiming for.
He was terrible against the raiders , it was lovely to watch
that was before shit was figured out that isn't gonna happen again
Patience patience youngun. Glad you "re-evaluated" after bashing. Lessons learned? Go Pack Go
Jordan Love is the guy!!
Facts matt was holding jordan back in the beginning of the season, i was like how he gone learn if u dont let him go out and be him, its only the first season.
he gonna be good for years to come too
Hell yeah
LOVE 10VE
It's crazy to me how no one is talking about number 50 at right tackle keeping Micah Parsons at Bay one-on-one
He tends to do that
Fun fact had Watson fought for the ball better vs the Steelers and Vegas
He probably wins MVP
You're right about Lafluer, he admitted he was buttoning things up.
Love told him he wanted to open the 2nd Lions game with the Watson deep pass.
Bassicly asking him to "let me sink or swim"
And thus the change
I
2025 Super Bowl will be Packers vs Texans. Packers win 34-24
Deep dagger? Gotta go with "sword"
Kinda reminds me of 2018 mahomes where the footwork isn’t great but he can still get away with it. Plus he can extend plays like pat does
As a Packers fan I think people need to pump the brakes on Love and the team. We won ONE more game than we did the previous season. We played a very easy schedule and were very inconsistent the entire year. Even against truly terrible teams we did not necessarily blow those teams out. Our defense will always keep the other team in the game and our offensive play calling will keep everyone guessing. We saw some growth from some guys but the team is still really young and the jury is still out after an unconvincing year for some guys. Our offense is set up for a QB to succeed so I don't know if Love is a future hall of famer or simply a competent player that is comfortable in our offense. I definitely feel more optimistic than last off season but there is still a lot of question marks.
we won 2 more games actually
That's my QB!
But can he do that consistently? I remember that to be a huge emphasis in the Love draft video. We will see.
yes he has did you watch any games in the last half of the season? clearly you didn't
The Cowboys wildcard game was a good display of what you can get out of him with the rest of the offense in the same page. Packers passing game punished the hell out of Dan Quinn's cover 1/3 style defense with all the mismatches down the middle of the field. Now Quinn is the HC of the Commanders, Packers gonna take their lunch whenever they visit the capitol.
He just needed time and reps to find himself. Underrated reason why he got better so fast is his desire to be great, always studying tape, continuously working on his game. I don’t see him having a let down or a step back season, he’s going to be a top 3 QB for a while.
yet nobody ever uses this logic for Trey Lance
@@patek9789 it's a fair point, but Lance was very unlucky with injuries and an unforeseen emergence of Brock Purdy. Let's hope he gets a real chance soon.
10 games being halfway through the season will never feel right
Pack is back baby
Sitting talented QBs works and it was always normal in the NFL before coaching Hubris and shareholder interests took over the game. Love spent 3 years styling his game after Aaron and just needed a season of experience after that valuable time; now its wheels up, Packers did it again lol
I don’t think the Packers are really threats for a Super Bowl yet but this team has some crazy potential if they can keep growing. The defense will probably be off in the beginning as they transition to a new defense scheme but if MLF and Jordan Love can keep up how they ended the season then they may be able to cover for the defense.
TBH pretty much everyone on this defense is a better scheme fit for the new scheme than the old one. And the upgrade at Safety should be significant.
“Rashee rice style” 😭😭😭
I'm not sold on love yet. He seems like he's over hyped just because he's a packer

The rashee rice joke is crazy😭😭
🏈GO PACK GO!!🏈
Love prove me wrong and I live in Wisconsin. He has the weapons around him and as long as the o line keeps him upright it'll be ok. I thought Green Bay might draft a tight end to have 3 solid tight ends to go with the 6 wide receivers. Now the defense catches on to the 4-3 defense which shouldn't be hard and maybe one of the safety they draft can play cornerback also?? Clifford or Pratt they are both good
His football mechanics and mannerism’s are so similar to Aaron it’s scary.
